Quote:
Poultrygeist (10) : As Destiny City is a bustling metropolis, it’s not unexpected that there should be some strange animals running the streets. Sometimes it’s a tiger, sometimes a monkey, sometimes a chicken. Sometimes it’s something worse. Strange egg clusters have appeared in Destiny City’s parks and officials aren’t really sure what they are; these eggs have nothing inside of them. Though it’s an anomaly, they are chalking it up to teenaged pranks. However, they have advised to just leave the eggs as they are. Nobody wants to say why, but if you’re out late at night, you’ll find out. In the darkness, whispered between the sounds of the city: a guttural, rasping cluck. The creature stands on stilt-like legs, rooted to the ground with razor-sharp talons. It wears a cloak of long, oily feathers that drag on the ground with a sinister scraping. If you stare into the darkness, piercing red eyes stare back at you. That’s all it takes for a confrontation: a mangled bird, maybe a chicken in another life, comes barreling out at you. It stands easily as tall as a person, but the proportions are all wrong. The smell of sulfur follows it as it lunges, pecking and screaming and scratching as it attempts to chase you away. Maybe, from the nests full of empty eggs. The battles are fierce, but fleeting; it will viciously try to chase you away but the effects are always the same: at some point, the eggs are crushed. As always, there’s nothing inside of them, but with one final wail, the bird will vanish into a plume of foul smoke.

Note: If you choose to encounter one of these bird-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The bird does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. It will always disappear in a malodorous plume of smoke and leave nothing but a foul odor and a clutch of empty, broken eggs behind. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.

Angel had been thinking over the things he had learned from Sessrumnir and Valhalla for a while, the fact that youma used to be people and everything thereafter. He had gone back and forth on telling Florian, but ultimately decided that it was the right call. That, and he also needed the support for telling his sister about the whole magical nonsense. Which was how he found himself walking with his younger sister to the flower shop, doing his best to ignore her persistent suspicious frown.

"Aria. If you don't stop staring at me, I'm going to go nuts. Just chill. I'm just.... bringing you to introduce you to someone, that's all." Someone. Because god forbid he and Florian put a name to whatever they were. That would be a conversation for a much, much different time.

Sighing as his sister rolled her eyes, he pushed the door of the shop open and sighed, immediately relaxing as soon as he saw Florian. "Hey." The smile he gave the other was soft and warm, and really all he wanted to do was walk over and wrap his arms around him. Because holding all this heavy s**t in? It sucked.

----------------

Aria walked beside Angel, staring him down the entire way. He had been acting odd lately, more serious and less vibrant, and it had worried her. A lot. At first, she had worried that maybe something had happened between him and the cute boy from the flower shop, but she quickly dismissed that. She had seen her brother after a breakup and this most certainly wasn't that. Whatever was going on was serious, and that made her infinitely more concerned than any breakup ever would.

Rolling her eyes as she was scolded, she walked into the familiar shop, mildly amused that he had no idea this was where the vast majority of his plant graveyard once lived. Smiling cheerfully, she waved at Florian as she stayed beside her brother. "I promise I'm not here to buy more plants for my brother to kill." She wondered if Florian even knew that her and Angel were siblings. She hadn't ever said anything, and Angel certainly hadn't seemed to realize they at least were familiar with one another. Though Florian did seem quite a bit smarter than her brother.

Things had been quiet, at least enough that he'd managed to finish restocking flowers that fit the current theme of Starfest. He'd been extra careful, making sure nothing got into his store this time around. While he hadn't exactly thought about a security camera before, he did get one installed at the back door into the alleyway just in case. Nothing had happened yet, but he wanted to make sure now that he knew more about the craziness that was going on.

There was a lot to think about, though, especially with the posts on insta about the meteor shower. It might be a nice idea for a date, he could pack a picnic or something, maybe to bring up the hill by his family home for a better view. This train of thought had him idly drawing simple flowers on the paper invoice he had on the counter in front of him. He was by no means an artist the way Angel was, but sometimes he drew simple little daisies or other things when he thought about them.

Looking up when he heard the bell ring, he smiled at seeing Angel, at least until he noticed something didn't look quite right about them. Then he saw one of his regulars following behind, and something clicked in his mind. Looking between Angel and Aria, he blinked once and then nodded. "That makes... a lot of sense. He's gotten better, though, Aria!" At least the small bamboo he'd gotten them hadn't died. It hadn't grown as much as it should, but it hadn't died, and that was progress enough in his mind.

Looking back over at Angel, he got up and walked around the counter, grabbing their hands lightly and looking up. "Hey... are you okay?" He'd gotten a bit less nervous about holding hands in public, and in this situation, he was pretty sure that Aria knew they were dating. Maybe in another setting, he wouldn't have been so quick to check in, but this was his shop and he was comfortable here.

The familiarity between Florian and Aria made Angel frown in confusion. And then it clicked. This was the shop Aria had been going to all this time. Florian was the "cute guy" Aria had been telling Angel about and saying would be his type. With a groan, Angel shook his head. This city, in all its expansiveness, truly was too small at times. "I'm not gonna live this one down am I...."

Smiling tiredly, he squeezed Florian's hands before pulling him into a hug, just needing the reassurance of feeling him against him. "It's......I wanna tell her. About everything. I learned some stuff the other day that....it's a lot. And I think she needs to know now." He spoke softly, for Florian to hear only. The words of the older Knights still sat heavy in his heart, and he knew that if Aria got hurt, he would never forgive himself. He also knew that there was no one else he would trust to aid him in this other than Florian. "Need your help with it...."

----------

Aria smiled cheerfully, then laughed and shook her head. "I mean I guess. He's still hopeless with plants though." Seeing her brothers confusion, followed by defeated recognition, admittedly made her feel rather proud of herself. But seeing the way Angel pulled his partner close, the serious, tired look on his face as he held him, made her truly realize there was something far more serious going on.

"I can...always come back another time? If you just need some alone time? It was rare to see her brother anything but carefree and laid back, and it troubled her greatly. She was glad that he had Florian who he could rely on, to let himself be something other than a brainless jellyfish floating along with the current. He needed that, she thought.

Letting Angel pull him in, Florian could understand some of the change in Angel's usual demeanor. But the mention of something happening the other day that was a lot had him confused and looking up at them. He hadn't told his parents, nor did he feel like he ever would, considering he didn't want to worry them.

"I can help, just let me know what to do." He'd been keeping mostly to himself, having only really done things powered up with them around, but he felt like he was more in tune with the naturey side of being an Ida page than the other. It might not amount to much, aside from the fact that things had changed and now he was able to do a bit more than before.

Looking over at Aria, he offered a soft smile. "No, you're okay, Aria. Angel wants to talk about something we're both involved in." Keeping things light, at least as light as he could considering he wasn't sure about what the new information was.
