Quote:
The Fireflies (6) : In the warm summer nights, little glowing lights begin to bob and dart through the city. Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn't the first time they've appeared in Destiny City, but no one's been able to tell where they came from or where they're going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers.

Jörmungandr found, often, that there were many things to be impressed with on Earth. It had been so long since he saw life, and joy, and so many of the other things that made a planet feel vibrant.

He was, admittedly, a little buzzed--but he was functional, and the only thing he'd drunk was some fancy floral liquor that he'd found being sold at a little popup. It made him feel a little lighter, maybe made it a little easier to enjoy the evening. And it was an enjoyable evening; he'd decided to pause in a park, leaning on a fancy fence and watching the multicolored little creatures that had apparently taken up residence.

They were fascinating; he'd seen things like them in the universe in the past, but these were still different, and the little electric shocks that came form touching them were fascinating.

There was a stain of Chaos somewhere nearby, like a blot of spilled ink on the beautiful tapestry of a fine summer's evening. Jörmungandr sighed, pushing up from the fence. Perhaps it was time to stop enjoying the colorful little lights and instead clean up the filth.

Dzhalindite was out, and about as she normally was, and it was dark out, and she could already see some fireflies in the air. She didn't think much of it. She had never heard of magical fireflies, so it wasn't something on her mind. What had been on her mind was chaos and what it meant and power. What was important in life? Right now, she was pretty sure it was power; power was important. She didn't think anything or anyone would be able to change her mind. Some might think she was selfish for only caring about herself and power, but it also meant that if she had power, she could protect those she did decide to care about.

She felt the order member, and she soon saw the colorful fireflies in the air. She rolled her eyes. Of course, it was rainbow fireflies for the star festival. The magic in this city wasn't super creative. She was used to the holidays being weird. She smirked when she saw the order person. She didn't feel like chaos had no place in the world, after all what was life without a little chaos. If they were all gone then there would be no one for the do gooders to fight after all.

It was still bizarre and horrifying to Jörmungandr, to see these people made into puppets of Chaos. Sapient beings who retained their minds, and yet were infected with darkness to the very core. And they seemed to think nothing of it.

Perhaps it was simply that they did not understand, but Jörmungandr was not inclined to care. Most of the time, he preferred a good time. The universe was strangled in an ever-expanding flood of Chaos and death, his life had stretched out far beyond what should have been his allotted years, and at this point, Jörmungandr had to accept that he was here for both a good time and a long time, and yet the focus was definitely on one over the other.

But Chaos left no space for compromise.

so once he was close enough, he reached within for magic that had once been as easy as breathing, but now came with some difficulty.

"Voracious Consumption."

No chatter. No compromise. Only one solution.

Quote:
Sailor Scout Attack: Voracious Consumption!
Jörmungandr speaks the name of his attack, and targets within a ten-foot radius will feel a heavy pressure, as if they are wrapped in the coils of a great serpent; they will then be filled with a sudden voracity, as if something inside them has been scooped out and replaced with a hunger that cannot be filled. This hunger will swell and become all-consuming, until all they can think about is the need to devour, and the weight of the serpent will grow heavier and more claustrophobic, creating a pressure that can result in lasting minor bruises at player discretion. This need lasts for 25 seconds, and Jörmungandr can use this attack three times per battle.

Dz was surprised when the senshi went stright to attacking it was so not fair that they got magic right away and nega soldiers just got a weapon and no magic. The feeling of the magic hitting her was terrible, but not strange to her; she hungered for power, so this wasn't super weird. She was distracted by the feeling for 25 sec. Open for another act or physical attack. She frowned when she finally gathered her senses and then said, "Well, that wasn't very nice." She said, making a tisking noise. "I thought you were supposed to be the good guys, attacking without reason, isn't that a chaotic thing to do?" She taunted. She rushed forward and attempted a physical attack to the upper body with her fist and Christmas tree. Not that she expected much of an effect. Since she was only an Lt.

There was no point hesitating; if his magic gave her any pause, Jörmungandr had to take the opportunity to strike, like the camouflaged serpents that had made their homes in the jungles of his world.

Before Chaos wiped everything out.

He was quick on his feet, moving to swing his fist at her gut. and he found the violence brought the slightest hint of a smile to his face.

"Oh, I've never once claimed to be nice," he said, "and I have plenty of reason to attack anyone who bears the mark of a force that consumes worlds."

Honestly, what childish reasoning. But human were so short-lived--perhaps all of them were simply as children, one way or another, to someone who had lived two of their lifetimes even before Chaos came.

Her attack was fairly predictable; Jörmungandr was neither so affected by what he'd drunk nor so distracted by the burn of adrenaline from the fight to miss her swinging at him, though his dodge was a little slow and her silly little tree weapon did leave a scratch across his chest.

Irritating.

He snapped out a hand to grab her arm, with the aim of wrenching it backwards and maybe making her drop her weapon. Such as it was.

When the effect ended, Dz listened to what the other person said, and she cocked her eyebrow. "Not nice, huh? Well, fine.. consuming worlds I don't remember reading that in any of the manuals.." She was rather childish, and it showed easily in her words and manners. Dz ended up dropping her weapon after he grabbed her arm. She wasn't much of a fighter yet, so she was at a disadvantage. She growled, "Let go!!" At the worst, she figured they would toss her to the ground, and she would be able to grab her weapon. It was another situation where she felt helpless because her weapon sucked and was useless in battle. She looked forward to not having such a stupid weapon and actually having magic finally. "So then perhaps you have won this battle." She rolled her eyes "Totally not fair since you senshi get magic right off the bat." She pouted.

It would have been easy to push further, to use his leverage to do serious damage, but he'd accomplished his goal; made her drop her weapon, delivered some humiliation. Jörmungandr was fairly well pleased with that.

"I imagine that's not something they tell the average footsoldier, no," he said, deadpan. And he did bend her arm, enough that he hoped it hurt.

"You would be better off not worrying about fairness and instead considering why you think such a thing matters given the stakes of our conflict." But honestly, Jörmungandr wasn't impressed. She seemed thoughtless, shallow. And perhaps he should expect no more from people with such limited perspectives.

He let go.

"Run along, or I'll show you much worse."

Not being powerful enough was so annoying it made Dz really mad but she wasn't an idiot she knew when she was beaten, so she jumped away but not before picking up a star charm. (Fin)
