Life alone was hard for anyone, eat or be eaten seemed to be the core philosophy nature lived by. Though if she was honest it really just felt like eat and be eaten. There was no escaping that fate no matter how long it was prolonged.
Raha sighed as her stomach grumbled in protest again as she lay sprawled in the shade. The sun was on it's way down from the sky, but it would still be hours before night truly fell. She pulled herself to her feet. She needed a successful hunt, even a small one. But picking had been slim for awhile. All the prey she found traveled in groups and those just seemed a waste of what energy she did have without group tactics.
She stretched her lean muscled body and gave her head a good shake. Time to get in the game. She would scout about for good opportunities before the sun set. And hopefully before it was totally dark she would be able to set herself up well for the sucess she needed.
She knew when she technically passed from the rougleands into prideland territory. But it was still the outskirts and chances might be a bit better here than the place she had recently been stalking.
The sky was darkening when the prowling lioness set her hungry eyes on a good target. A juicy looking warthog was happily trotting it's way along the tall grasses a fair distance off. She felt her heart begin to race with excitement but she would not rush this. She would stalk it slow and quiet. Drawing in ever closer as she followed to wait for the perfect moment to make her decisive strike.
