The Fireflies (6) : In the warm summer nights, little glowing lights begin to bob and dart through the city. Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn't the first time they've appeared in Destiny City, but no one's been able to tell where they came from or where they're going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers.
It was definitely nowhere near the top of his skillet for Rakovanite to ensure routine checkups with anyone on his team (and in fact, he more often than not felt harassed anytime he had to deal with Cervantite or Calaverite too frequently). He'd lamented before that they were all grown adults who could should be able to manage their own affairs, and constant interference from him was sure to be stressful and inhibitive. But it had been nearly an entire year since Rakovanite had made any effort to communicate with Forsterite.
A personal failing on his part that he should rectify with haste.
So he had made arrangements, sending his Lieutenant a message that he would like to speak with her and selecting a time convenient for them both. She would be powered up and ready for Rakovanite to retrieve her. And while it would probably be safer to summon her to his office in Negaspace, the environment didn't lend itself to any sort of productive conversation... And how often was mere 'conversation' productive, anyway?
They were more likely to come to an understanding of one another, achieve more while out in the field. They could patrol in what he expected would be the relative peace of a warm summer night.
If nothing at all happened, fine. Or if there was trouble to be found, at least Forsterite wouldn't be alone for it.
Rakovanite waited very specifically for their exact agreed-upon time. Not a moment more or less. And then he felt for the threads of Chaos power that held them together and drew Forsterite to his location in a teleport.
He'd chosen a simple, common location for the night. A larger park overflowing with greenery. Popular among the city's residents. There may be others out enjoying the comfortable weather- civilian or otherwise. Or there may not be. Either way seemed acceptable to him. He was standing on the sidewalk next to a rather sizable playground when he summoned her, with a mostly-empty parking lot to one side and an expanse of trees to the other. Little blips of light dotted the air, blinking in and out of existence moment-to-moment.
