2026 Star Festival Prompt
The Lilypads (16) : You can find them in lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and waterways throughout Destiny City. Giant lilypads--some large enough to support the weight of a person--appear overnight. You can try, if you want. It's become a local trend, and pictures are all over social media--of people looking for the largest lilypads, or the smallest ones they can stand on. You'd think the unnatural bubbling around the lilypads would be enough of a sign not to mess with them, but sometimes people need to learn the hard way. Beneath the lilypads lurk strange frog-like creatures that regard nearly everything as prey. The largest of them are roughly the size and shape of a bean bag chair, but they can be as small as a fist. Their broad heads are crowned with lilypads that serve as natural camouflage, allowing them to hide among the floating vegetation until they strike. They move with startling speed and can launch themselves impressive distances with powerful kicks. Long, whip-like tongues lash out to snatch prey, while thick mucus-like saliva can cling to skin, clothing, and even immobilize unfortunate victims. Their skin carries a toxic coating that can cause irritation on contact. The creatures announce themselves with a deep croak that sounds uncannily like a large bell being rung just by your ears. Unfortunately, for anyone that was respecting nature, these strange creatures are aggressive and will also attack without provocation, often attempting to drive even innocent bystanders away from the water's edge. However, if sufficiently threatened, they may retreat into the water. Once submerged, they become impossible to track.

Note: If you choose to encounter one of these frog-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The creature does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. All toxic and mucus can be washed away, but effects may persist for a few hours after this encounter. The creature cannot be killed and will always evade lethal blows. While it is rare to find multiple large creatures in the same vicinity, smaller creatures often cluster together, or may be found with a larger one. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.

Kissling had been one of those trend-chasing idiots stupid enough to try to take a picture while standing on one of the large lilypads. He had found and especially large pad at a lake and been showing off a violet star charm which he had just acquired recently when a long tongue emerged from the water to wrap around him, its mucus-like saliva causing him to blanch when he came into contact with it. He was so startled that he dropped both his star charm and phone onto the lilypad at his feet. Suddenly, he found he couldn't move.

With his arms pinned to his sides, he tried to look around for his attacker, but it was only as the huge creature raised its head from the water that he realized he had been standing on a lilypad crowning a very large frog and that another had come up beside it to wrap its tongue around him. He wasn't sure if the lilypad was a plant or a large growth crowning the frog-thing's head that only looked like a plant, but whatever it was, it had thoroughly deceived him.

By then, he was stuck and couldn't even reach his compact mirror to try to contact help or back-up. Was he going to die? Maybe get pulled down underwater and drown while submerged? Or worse yet, perhaps even be eaten by one of these monstrous amphibians if that was even what they were?

Kissling wondered if his magic would work on the creature. He dropped to his knees to try to see if he could kiss the lilypad's surface, wondering if it would count as the top of the thing's head, but immediately regretted it. Since his sailor fuku consisted of shorts, his knees came into direct contact with the toxic coating that covered the creature's skin and immediately began to irritate his own. He was tempted to try to wash it off in the water, but he didn't dare try to go for a swim when who knew what lurked under the surface.

With a grimace, he decided to attempt to use his magic despite his better judgement and leaned down to try to kiss the coating-covered lilypad. Even if it didn't work, he didn't really see many other options at the moment considering how inoffensive his magic and fighting style were. Not to mention that even if the frog he was standing on chose not to attack him, that didn't mean the other one with its tongue around him wouldn't. Or that it wouldn't just straight up decide to eat him. If he could just manage to reach far enough to get his dropped phone even with his arms pinned to his sides, maybe he could use it to get in contact with someone.

Who to call, though? The local authorities? Other civilians he knew? Ones he knew who could power up, maybe? He didn't really want to get those he cared about caught up in his predicament if he could help it; especially when it had been entirely his fault due to his own foolishness. His situation was pretty embarrassing as it was.

Kissing a frog...ha. Wasn't there a fairytale about something like that?

Something had told Storm he didn't have time to admire his gold star charm he'd found. He wasn't sure how to explain it but he'd felt another energy signature that he thought belonged to another of his faction; and it was in the direction of the pond.

He'd not been there but he'd heard about strange frogs and something just told him to move. He was hoping he was wrong and was over thinking that someone could be in trouble and it was just going to be another normal night. However, as he made his way onto the scene he suddenly called his attack seeing that someone was indeed in trouble.

"Venting Shock!!!" He used his super attack and he watched as vents opened around him close to the edge of the pond, close enough that he hoped the frog would come after him as he taunted it. "You should pick on someone your own size you over grown slime ball!"

Venting Shock
When Storm calls out his attack this causes vents to open in the earth much like volcanic vents in a five foot radius around him, the tallest clouds reach a maximum of seven foot, but become less dense the higher up. From within those vents** small particles of ash and dust swell and swirl upwards in flurries causing small electric storms that can shock or strike* (depending on cloud size and intensity) anyone within range of the clouds or inside of the clouds. This is fairly easy to dodge as long as the people caught up in the affected area are aware of their surroundings. This attack can last up to twenty seconds and be used twice but it has a thirty second recharge.

* If there are strikes caused by the storm the distance they can cover is up to a foot from their origin point, as long as it's inside the five foot radius of the attack. There could be up to two full strikes in the twenty seconds.
** The vents can be trip hazards. There's no real damage from the vents themselves; but the static/electric charge is at it's highest level's here.

Kissling's head jerked up as he heard a familiar voice call out an unfamiliar attack and his face lit up as he laid eyes upon the speaker. "Sailor Storm!" he called excitedly, forgetting all about the dire situation he'd found himself in. "Am I glad to see you! Wait...are you...different?" He blinked, appraising the other Dark Mirror Senshi a minute before realizing what must have changed. Along with his appearance, his energy signature had strengthened. Well, that certainly explained the new attack. "Whoa! Congratulations on becoming a super senshi!" If he had thought Storm was cool before, that was nothing compared to how he was now. Those monster frog things didn't stand a chance. Which was good because Kissling felt as useless as he had when he'd first met Storm. He really just didn't seem cut out for physical combat.

The frog creature that had its tongue coiled around Kissling turned its attention to Storm instead. Though it seemed to take a second to try to decide what to do with its captive, the decision quickly seemed to be made for it as Storm opened up vents nearby. When a small electric storm formed above each vent, the giant amphibian had to release its victim in order to get away from the miniature storm - and to try to go after the one who had caused it.

Kissling might have managed to pacify the lilypad-headed frog he had been standing on - at least it seemed that way, because the creature didn't really move much - and thus it was a little slow to dodge as a storm from one of the other senshi's volcanic vents electrocuted it. The blond got up and jumped off just in time, free to leap back onto shore since he was no longer bound by the tongue that had trapped him before. He raced the giant frog that had targeted Storm and kicked it for good measure on his way to his fellow Dark Mirror Senshi.

Storm grinned when Kissling called his name, "Aloha~!" He replied, "Nice to see you Kissling, though I wish it'd been under better circumstances that we've run into each other, brother!"

The Hawaiian nodded when the other asked if he was different and realized that he'd powered up to super. "Yeah! Finally managed to level up it seems."

The frog had been confused and didn't seem to like the volcanic vents or the static charge caused by them which was fine. The dark mirror senshi was hoping that the frog would've just wondered off scared instead of choosing violence but it was what it was.

The dark mirror senshi decided to charge after the frog and aim a kick towards it's throat himself since they needed to run it off. "Hopefully you weren't stuck like that for long!" Storm added looking over towards Kissling hoping the other was okay.

"You look amazing!" Kissling marveled, though quickly added, "N-not that you didn't before! Just - even more amazing now! Must be nice to be even more powerful!" Once he had managed to get to Storm, he watched the other senshi kick the frog that had been coming for him and whistled in appreciation. "Show 'em who's boss!"

Storm's comment about his hope that Kissling hadn't been stuck like he had been for long earned a laugh. "Not long thanks to you! If I had, it might have dragged me under and drowned me or something. I owe you again!"

Deciding to attempt his senshi magic once more on the off-chance it worked, the sandy blond called, "Kiss and Make Up!" before blowing a kiss toward each of the frogs - the one Storm and he had kicked and the one he had found himself perched on before and tried to kiss the lilypad head of. That made three kisses he'd used, which meant he was out of attacks, so he hoped it would be enough to drive them off, especially combined with Storm's efforts.

LP
Sailor Scout Attack: Kiss and Make Up!

Description: Kissling, at minimum, blows a kiss at his target, but may also kiss them directly. If the kiss is blown, the magic takes the shape of a pair of pink lips that float toward the target until they make contact with skin. Upon contact (whether a blown or direct kiss), pink sparkles appear. The sparkles soon fade, but then the target is distinguished by a kiss mark where they were kissed until the magic fades.

If the magic hits, it causes the target to feel deterred from being physically violent toward Kissling. The kiss at minimum is a blown kiss, but the closer to a person the kiss is given and longer the contact with skin or more intense the kiss, the more potent the magic and the less the target feels like being physically violent towards Kissling. The player of the target can interpret as they see fit how and to what extent their character feels deterred from being physically violent toward Kissling.

Kissling is the only one the target is deterred from being physically violent toward. The magic will be rendered useless if the kiss doesn't hit its mark, if Kissling's lips are covered, if the target has absolutely no exposed skin available to kiss, or if used on a target who doesn't feel like being physically violent toward Kissling in the first place.

• Type: Psychologically-altering Projectile or Direct Attack
• Target: 1 person Kissling aims for
• Use: 3x per battle
• Range: 10 feet
• Duration: 25 seconds
