Quote: Poultrygeist (10) : As Destiny City is a bustling metropolis, it’s not unexpected that there should be some strange animals running the streets. Sometimes it’s a tiger, sometimes a monkey, sometimes a chicken. Sometimes it’s something worse. Strange egg clusters have appeared in Destiny City’s parks and officials aren’t really sure what they are; these eggs have nothing inside of them. Though it’s an anomaly, they are chalking it up to teenaged pranks. However, they have advised to just leave the eggs as they are. Nobody wants to say why, but if you’re out late at night, you’ll find out. In the darkness, whispered between the sounds of the city: a guttural, rasping cluck. The creature stands on stilt-like legs, rooted to the ground with razor-sharp talons. It wears a cloak of long, oily feathers that drag on the ground with a sinister scraping. If you stare into the darkness, piercing red eyes stare back at you. That’s all it takes for a confrontation: a mangled bird, maybe a chicken in another life, comes barreling out at you. It stands easily as tall as a person, but the proportions are all wrong. The smell of sulfur follows it as it lunges, pecking and screaming and scratching as it attempts to chase you away. Maybe, from the nests full of empty eggs. The battles are fierce, but fleeting; it will viciously try to chase you away but the effects are always the same: at some point, the eggs are crushed. As always, there’s nothing inside of them, but with one final wail, the bird will vanish into a plume of foul smoke. Note: If you choose to encounter one of these bird-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The bird does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. It will always disappear in a malodorous plume of smoke and leave nothing but a foul odor and a clutch of empty, broken eggs behind. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.
Amelia had gotten out of her yoga studio later than usual; there had been a bit of a gap in her schedule thanks to jet lag on top of one of her personal projects needing some recent attention. Checking through her phone as she walked, she saw an email come through from the hospital. A secured message from E.B., so one of her long-standing problems seemed to be nearing its end. Part of it put her in a good mood, one less thing to worry about, though the leftover problems could be very lucrative for her public image. Walking beneath the buzzing lights, she kept her attention down on her phone as she looked through the dire test results and a request for payment on medical bills. She paid them without a second thought; it was part of the arrangement for E's silence. That done, she tucked her phone back away as she crossed the street. Something foul smelled down the alley as she passed it, her face scrunching slightly with disgust as she paused and tried to wipe the smell away even as it seemed almost to cling to her.

Kinsey was always trying to avoid his fathers home, any excuse to not be there he would take, tonight he was out picking something up. He wasn't a big sport fan, he didn't play sports or anything, but the US was hosting the world cup and Norway was due to tomorrow against Iraq and he'd decided to pick up a team jersey for team Norway. It was something banned in his home, speaking the language or anything related to the culture, but he figured he could sneak it in and than on game night he could slip out and go watch at a local place.
The bag from the store hung from his arm, tapping against his side as he walked, some women ahead of him was busy on her phone and walking slow; at least he considered he to be walking slow. He did understand he had tall legs, he'd known that ever since he started to over take his classmats in terms of height, but that didn't mean he didn't give a little annoyed look at the womans back. Picking up the pace, intending to walk around her, he stopped when he smelled a familiar smell. There was no way he'd forget that smell, much as he wished he could, and than he was moving and looking frantically for the chicken or an egg or anything. He knew what had happened last time when he'd smelled this.
"s**t." Not the smell, though it was that bad, it was more of what he knew would follow, the chickens was why he cursed. He culd faintly hear it, or maybe it was just his imagination already providing for him what was to come.

Noticing a boy nearby, just beside her on the sidewalk, she frowned as he cursed. They looked too young in her opinion to be out this late. That smell seemed to get stronger, though, part of her wondering if it came from the bag the boy was carrying. She was about to comment when she heard something, something that had her rightly confused. It sounded like a chicken, or well, if a chicken was run through a horror movie sound filter. Turning to look over her shoulder, she nearly dropped her yoga bag in shock. "What... What is that?" Was there some sort of YouTube or TikTok doing a prank video? Looking at the boy, she followed him as he seemed to start looking around for something. "Hey, are you filming this as some sort of joke? I'll have you know this isn't funny. Tell whoever is wearing that costume to cut it out." Pointing back toward the shambling, oily mass, she noticed something just ahead of the tip of her fingers. It was hard to make out, as if it were some sort of hologram or visual effect.

When she turned, due to the noise, it only took a moment for him to figure what she was seeing; the look on her face said it all. Of course the chicken was behind him, he wasn't at all surprised really, and so he took a moment to stare at the woman as she apparently thought this was all some prank. After that moment Kinsey decided to respond to her, while turning to face the bird himself.
"I'm not one for pranks or stunts, this is very real." In this city the thing which coudn't be real - shouldn't be real...were infact real. "You might wish to run." He stated calmly, though he said everything in a fairly calm manner, while looking at the hicken and waiting to see what it would do. When it made that sound again, almost like a battle cry, the thing decided to charge right towards them. Damn it.
Moving to try and avoid the bird he went to power up, because he really didn't have another option, while he removed the hat from his head and threw it towards the oily bird in order to gain it's attention; let the female run and he'd handle this.

Startled by the next few seconds and witnessing what she could only rationalize as the most drastic and well-done quick outfit change she'd ever seen, that thought seemed to lose traction as she got a look at the shambling mass of oil and feathers that was drawing closer. She'd thought about taking their advice, even if she didn't like the idea of being the butt of some joke, and when the thing got close, she decided that maybe it might be a good idea even if it was a prank. The problem came when she started jogging, her bag opened, and things started to tumble out. It only took her half a moment to reach down and grab her wallet and phone before her hand brushed against something else. Paneveggio.Blinking, she looked down at her wrist, noticing a wrap that hadn't been there before. In her hand, a worn wooden flute that she'd never seen before. And as she stood and looked down at herself, she was stunned and looked back at the boy. How the hell? This wasn't a quick change, but she couldn't rationalize it. If anything, she was more bothered now than she had been before and walked back over toward the boy with her hefty bag slung over her shoulder. "Okay, what is going on? You seem to know something?" Speaking flatly, almost boredly, as she looked between them and the thing that now paused and looked between both her and the boy. She pointed the flute at him threateningly for a moment, giving an ice-cold glare that dared the thing to come at her. "I don't have time for any of this, so explain."

Well now, that was interesting, he could sense a new signature...a baby knight. Sighing he rolled his eyes, of course this one would be aknight after thinking this nonsense was a prank of some sort, he really couldn't believe his luck or lack thereof.
If looks could kill most people would be dead; he wasn't most people. Istead he lifted a brow at her. "You'll have to do better than that look, I'm unimpressed." Because a look had nothing on a pan being swung at your head. "I do know something though, not a lot mind you, but why don't you just step back and let me handle this." Because she was new and had less power than he did, and he really didn't care to deal with her, he hadn't the time or tolerance for this all really. He had other things to spend his time on, anything but this or going home, as he stepped up toward the chicken and pulled out his cane.
"Figure you are a knight, a page actually, and are connected to a planet." Shrugging as he spoke, he hadn't really given her uniform a proper look over in order to decipher which planet nor did it matter much to him. He wasn't going to say he kneew little on knights, or what each symbol meant as far as planets meant. He kept a good distance from the whole knight thing. His focus was his wonder and very little of everything else.
"Let me handle the bird." And he did close the distance with it before swinging his cane at it, aiming for it's body rather than the smaller head.

Her glare grew sharper as they mocked her, but she didn't do anything else for the moment as they seemed to know what to do. Following what they were saying, about knights and pages and planets, she half wondered if maybe they'd drugged her, but this didn't feel like anything she'd felt before. It had been decades, though, how many? She'd never properly admit. Turning to watch as they swung at the thing, she gagged slightly at the noise the hit made on the oily mass of creature. That was a real thing, which she immediately added to her list of things she didn't like. Not to be outdone, she reached into her bag and looked for a few things. Settling on one of the small weights she used when winding down after things, she hurled it at the thing's head. It wasn't her best throw, but the satisfying yet gross sound of it making contact was a good indicator she'd done something at least. "Dreadful. Disgusting. How do we get rid of it?" She edged closer, keeping the boy between her and the thing, but she noticed that it seemed to be leaking more of that oil as a pool of it started to form under the thing's feet.

"I can't be sure how to deal with it, last year we didn't really." Truth be told he didn't remember the whole encounter, though he did know he'd dealt with one of these birds before and he remebered the smell, he also wasn't sure it could even be killed. "I don't know if it can die even." But he was more than willing to try as he smacked it a few more times before stepping back in order to avoid the oil slick it was leaking.
"I think we'd best leave. I don't know if it can die and if it can't; than I don't know what else to do." If it couldn't be killed than it was going to likely be really pissed and the counter attack from it was best avoided; so running was a good idea.
Looking over his shoulder at the woman he took a moment to look her over, she seemed posh enough, the fact she had a mini weight in her purse had him wondering about her though. Was it there for protection or something else? Was she the sort to just go on quick power walks, with little weights in her hands, thinking it might actually do something? There were some moms, he'd grown up with their kids, who liked to walk early in the morning with little weights as if it did much at all. They walked in groups gossiping, or so he assumed by the look of things, and he did wonder if she was that sort as well.
"If you have another weight throw it also before we run."

She stared at him as he mentioned that this thing was around last year. Why hadn't she really heard about it then? Then she looked at it once more and realized that it was just so abnormal that it would have been written off, like she thought it was when this night started. He didn't need to mention it twice, though, as she pulled the other small weight out and heaved it at the thing before following them out of here. She had questions, so very many, even if this boy didn't seem like he had all the answers. He was just who was available, it seemed, and she would work with what she could. "Following you, let's get somewhere away from that, then you can tell me about all this."

Well, at least she was running away from the chicken even if it meant he was being followed. His cane vanished, as he had no need of it any longer, it wasn't util they got a good distance away that he stopped finally. Panting for breath, leaning against a wall, running was not his thing. Kinsey was not into athletics of any sort.
Taking a few more steadying breaths he tipped his head back, taking a moment to close his eyes. "What do you want to know? I don't know everything but I can help." He could provide some information, he wasn't the most knowledgeable, he was fine with not knowing everything as he really only cared about his wonder - and he wasn't keen on making friends or talking to other knights. He didn't dislike people persay but he also didn't want to deal with people, he didn't like getting invested in them or having to fake emotions he didn't actually feel, it all took too much work and time...and he didn't care enough to put in that work and time.
"Just don't ask where tht thing cam from, or what it is, I don't know either thing. I can say it's magical but that's about it." Shrugging as he casually, perhaps a bit too calm and cool, as he finally glanced at the woman.
