Quote:
Poultrygeist (10) : As Destiny City is a bustling metropolis, it’s not unexpected that there should be some strange animals running the streets. Sometimes it’s a tiger, sometimes a monkey, sometimes a chicken. Sometimes it’s something worse. Strange egg clusters have appeared in Destiny City’s parks and officials aren’t really sure what they are; these eggs have nothing inside of them. Though it’s an anomaly, they are chalking it up to teenaged pranks. However, they have advised to just leave the eggs as they are. Nobody wants to say why, but if you’re out late at night, you’ll find out. In the darkness, whispered between the sounds of the city: a guttural, rasping cluck. The creature stands on stilt-like legs, rooted to the ground with razor-sharp talons. It wears a cloak of long, oily feathers that drag on the ground with a sinister scraping. If you stare into the darkness, piercing red eyes stare back at you. That’s all it takes for a confrontation: a mangled bird, maybe a chicken in another life, comes barreling out at you. It stands easily as tall as a person, but the proportions are all wrong. The smell of sulfur follows it as it lunges, pecking and screaming and scratching as it attempts to chase you away. Maybe, from the nests full of empty eggs. The battles are fierce, but fleeting; it will viciously try to chase you away but the effects are always the same: at some point, the eggs are crushed. As always, there’s nothing inside of them, but with one final wail, the bird will vanish into a plume of foul smoke.

Note: If you choose to encounter one of these bird-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The bird does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. It will always disappear in a malodorous plume of smoke and leave nothing but a foul odor and a clutch of empty, broken eggs behind. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.

On all accounts, he didn't want to go out, didn't want to do anything other than hide in Blaise's home at this point. He felt like s**t and still jumped at every creak and noise that came from outside. But he knew they were right, that he had to do something to seem like he was doing something productive.

But he wasn't about to go anywhere alone, even if nothing had happened in the weeks since he'd been staying at Blaise's place. That itch had eased up, and some of the other issues he'd had in the beginning were fading, but even now as he looked at his henshin, he felt his heart racing with anxiety.

Looking across the alley at Blaise, Rafayel gave him a look that almost asked if he had to, if they could just go back, and he could be a coward and live out the rest of his life hiding, even if he knew there wasn't really anywhere to hide. Again, he knew that he might be paranoid, that they'd been right over and over, even if he didn't want to listen to the important answers, only the things that made him feel paid attention to.

Closing his eyes, he cursed and then powered up, panic running through him again for a moment before he realized he didn't feel anyone else around. At least not until Hedwig stood across the alley from him. "So... let's hurry and get that energy..." He tried, and failed, at keeping the anxiety out of his voice but it didn't matter. It wasn't like he was good at hiding that since he'd had a hand in his chest ripping his literal soul out.

Blaise knew he was right, he knew Rafayel needed to get out, it wasn't good becoming a shut in not to mention the other did eventually need to go to work. He wouldn't push the other out of his home, as they clearly didn't feel safe living alone, it was why the previous night he'd offered to help the other move into his place. It was damn big enough, big wasn't even the proper word for the house really, to fit two people and all alone as he'd previously been the place felt rather empty and lonely even. So what did it hurt to invite someone to move in? They needed a place where they felt safe and Blaise didn't like how empty the house felt; it was a win /win situation.

But now he was eyeing the other with a raised brow, his own henshin pen in hand. "You know we need to, we have to do some energy gathering, it'll go fast and then we can go back. But we need to do something." The other needed to do something, Blaise had been gathering energy nearly every night, but he didn't want to point th finger just at Rafayel; he was trying to be gentle with his words. Watching for a moment as the other powered up he joined him soon enough, powering up as well, and nodded as he pushed off the alley wall.

"Yeah, yeah. You're on a hurry to get home when you shoud try and enjoy the night, it's nice out." The last few days had been hot, and humid, he hadn't found it at all pleasent. Tonight was cooler and with a slight breeze it was a relief, a nice change, but he doubted the other knew how good tonight was as they had been at home and hadn't suffered the heat of the previous few days - lucky.

"Anyway, best we keep an eye on things, this time of year I know isn't always safe." How he'd hated learning that the hard way when he was new to this city, no one had warned him about the dangers this city posed. Now he knew better and was making sure the other knew as well, though he was certain they already knew.

Fidgeting slightly, rubbing at his arm, he nodded and watched as his wraiths sauntered off to do their job. "I know.. I just," he paused and looked towards one of the other alleys as he heard what sounded like something falling. It was probably trash, tumbling out of the dumpster, but he couldn't help but be jumpy still.

Focusing back on what Hedwig said as he picked up his pace to catch up to them, he couldn't say much about the weather. He hadn't even cracked a window or opened a door other than when Blaise got back. While he'd gotten work done remotely, uploading STL files for an upcoming sugar build, he couldn't do any dry runs of it without being at the client's kitchen or his own house. But he'd not really wanted to go back there often, just in case someone was waiting there for him.

Pulling his phone out to check the date, he felt his stomach twist as something foul-smelling floated on the wind. This was around the same time as last year, when he'd seen the first inklings of crazy monsters and bullshit around this city.

"I... Hedwig. I think something's following us." He didn't turn around to look, not yet, but he tucked his phone away and rubbed his hands together anxiously. Was it the same thing he'd seen on Instagram before all the craziness had really hit him full force in autumn?

And he knew as well, because of course he knew, he understood enough to know the other hadn't been out and why. "I know." Waving his hand about a bit while his own wraiths went off to work, it was so nice that he didn't need to get his own hands dirty gathering energy, he almost felt for the negaverse who had to go gather energy on their own and risk themselves; key word being almost. They could change sides, join an easier side, though his fation only had senshi....how odd that was.

Pulled from his meandering thoughts by the others voice, by his words, Hedwig took a moment to glance about. "I don't feel any auras around us..." But he could certainly smell something, something foul, it churned his stomache and made him wonder just what could be following them, he didn't even think about why they were being followed. "Are your sure? Or are you basing it off the smell alone?" Something could have happened,k a reason for the smell, it didn't mean they were being followed for certain.

His gaze slowly turned to the other, hoping he wasn't too nervous over things, he did step closer to them as well. If they were being followed, if something was happening, it was best they were close together in order to handle it better. He just hoped nothing was about to happen; he wanted a ncie and easy night.

With Hedwig stepping closer, he reached out and grabbed their sleeve lightly as he turned back to look. All he needed was half a second to see a blob of what looked like oil that was almost as tall as he was. It didn't look or feel like anything, not a youma or whatever they were.

He was about to speak up when a shrieking and monstrous cry warbled out. The sound of talons scraping against the ground had him gripping Hedwig's arm more as he turned completely to face the thing while backing up. "Shitshitshit. Magic ******** magic."

It was gaining on them as he let go long enough to stutter out a few words, hoping the magic would work even as he panicked. It was close enough by the time the haze spread out, and he swung at the thing, hoping it might do something.

He didn't know if touching his skin would set his magic on Hedwig, too, but he wanted distance now that he'd done something to the monster, hopefully.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Can you feel it?

Leitner exhales over his palms as he speaks his magic, a sickening haze seeming to spread from him and can affect all enemies within radius. It clings to him closest, but if he comes in contact with someone or scratches them, then the effects truly begin. A moderate infestation overtakes them: the sensation of a moderate itching beneath the skin, almost like crawling insects, followed by a feeling that something rotten has taken hold even deeper into their core, something that can't be cured or removed. When breathing, they may taste rot or mold. It may even appear like the black marks or sores are spreading as if everything is sinking deeper into them. Players may choose to have their senshi have any psychological effects if they have issues related to bugs or things of that nature. There is the sensation of mild damage this time on the skin or if the contact point is in the mouth, then it can potentially go a bit further back down the throat. But otherwise, anything deeper would not be due to the magic but standard physical contact. When the magic fades, players may choose to take lasting damage or retain a lingering grey or black taint/color on their skin, similar to mold or sores from an infection, at the contact point for a short while after the battle. Players may also choose to have this damage scar.

Range: 15 feet
Time: 30 seconds
Uses: 2 Per battle

The shriek was loud, too loud, and piercing as he watched the other back away from the thing. They still had a tight grip on his sleeve which meant he was pulled along, made to back up as well, damn this was not what he'd signed up for tonight. Neither had he signed up for being pulled about nor whatever this was coming at them. It smelled foul and looked like some sort of shadow creature, like a chicken, it was tall and it was angry.

"Damn it all." While the other used their magic Hedwig did consider using his own but he really wasn't sure if it would work; or how well it would work. His magic was an honest mess and all over the place at times, it could just do nothing. He saw the other use their magic, saw it spread out, and he was yanking at them as quickly as he could. It as best they get out of here, and quickly, let their magic do whatever it did and hopefully it would buy them time.

"Come on, we should go." And it as a rather impulsive decision, especially considering his last thoughts about his magic, but he round up using it anyway...just before they got too far away from the bird.

"Adore me." And he really hated the little performance that went with castig his magic but yeah, it was a thing it seemed, and than he was yanking on the other again.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Adore me.
With the utterance of this attack sailor Hedwig will again tap his foot, but this time also give a “beckoning” gesture. The magic will again spread out to all around him within ten feet of him. Only this time those ensnared by his magic will be compelled to try and gain his attention, or be otherwise distracted by how strongly they suddenly adore him. This might manifest in a powerful urge to profess their adoration, or to use whatever actions they think will earn his favor. Some characters may even be compelled to fight each other for his attention, however for the duration of the magic anyone within his vicinity will adore him too much to attack him. This attack will last twenty seconds and will again sort of fade away rather than a sudden stopping of the magic. It has two uses per battle.

Going with Hedwig as they yanked him along, he didn't dare look back even as he heard the monster make some sort of pained sound, at least until Hedwig's magic did something.

While he might feel shitty later, he wasn't going to draw attention to the fact that he clung to them like a lifeline as they ran. They had a better sense of the area right now, if only because he was still panicking and trying not to puke from stress.

He wasn't ready for this bullshit, not again, not until he had more time to try and work himself back up to just the routine things. Staying inside seemed like it could be a positive outcome, at least if he was able to explain it to Desiree and her general as being him keeping out of trouble and not causing any issues.

"I don't wanna look, but let's get out of here!"

"I agree, I don't want to find out if my magic did anything." Or if it had failed, something he wouldn't be surprised about really, he knew his magic was all over the place and he didn't like using it much but he figured it best to try; and hope for the best. If it had worked than good for them, and bad for the bird.

"Yeah, let's get out of here...before it decides it wants to attack us again." Nodding his head as he spoke Hedwig continued to pull the other along, picking up the pace, it was best to put as much distance between themselves and the bird...and to do so as quickly as possible.

"This I heard happens in this city. I've seen a lot, heard about more, and this city is very unsafe. How normal people live here it beyond me." If he'd had a choice, before gaining magic, he would have moved back home. Sadly he'd not had a choice and his family had been clueless about all this insanity; and they still were. He had no plans on ever telling them....they would worry, and he didn't want to worry his family.

As they both ran, Leitner could hear the sound of the monster growing quieter, either because it stopped chasing or something actually had worked. As block by block went by and he didn't hear anything else, he finally started to slow his pace, the tension on his sleeve picking up as he tried to catch his breath.

"I-I think it stopped chasing us." Looking down at his hand, where he'd punched the thing, he grimaced at the gross oil-like liquid smeared on his knuckles. Gagging slightly, he leaned over toward the small patch of grass around one of the lone trees that lined this stretch of street and wiped his hand off in it. It was disgusting, but other than that, he started to feel a bit less panicked when the realization that neither of them had actually gotten hurt settled in.

"Maybe.. okay maybe if you come with me it'll be okay..." Pausing as he looked back towards where the monster was, the street was silent again. "Maybe... enough for tonight though."

Winded, and breathing hard, Hedwig let the other stop and go to clean their hand on the grass. His chest heaved as he foght to calm his breathing. He'd been in a panic and moved them both as quickly as he could. The idea of being caught by that bird was not one he fancied, he didn't want to get into any fights if he could help it, he wasn't much for fighting as he'd rather go through life as he normally did. The fact the bird was gone, had given up, was good because he didn't think he could deal with it following them and picking a fight with them both.

"Good." Looking around, just to be certain, he sat himself down as the tension eased from hos frame. "Yeah, I think tonight is good - I think we're good for tonght. No more damn birds, unless it's a dead and cooked one on my plate." Maybe chicken for dinner tomorrow night....yes; he knew just what he'd cook tomorrow night.

"I think tomorrow night we'll have chicken...drowned in wine." He said it with a smile, too much of a smile, and a bit of a laugh.
