March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. Spring is near, and as depicted on the tapestries there is a story to tell. Your story. Or perhaps a favored tale from your youth. Whatever the tale, tell it well and you may be able to snag a couple of delightful prizes.

Keiran Ansar rolled around in the warm grass as he soaked up the sun. It was getting warmer. Spring is on its way. Sighing, he opened his eyes. It was bright. Keiran Ansar closed his eyes again and started reminiscing. Combing through his memory, back to when he met his first friend in these parts. How lost he had felt. How found and understood he felt soon after their meeting. He felt warmth in his heart and all over his body. Then he heard something up ahead. Someone was approaching. Who could it be? Keiran Ansar was too relaxed and lazy to open his eyes. Oh well.. if it's someone who recognizes me and wants my attention, I'm sure they will. I'm right here. I'm conspicuous, he thought. The soft scrunching of the grass got louder and louder until the scrunching stopped close by. Oh, it looks like I caught their attention. I wonder who it could be. Keiran Ansar cracked his neck and waited.

Jin wandered aimlessly through the fields, her thoughts in the clouds. It was springtime, both an exciting time, but also one of a bit melancholy. She'd had mixed emotions about it for quite some time. This year was really no exception. "I imagine others may wonder why I have a love hate relationship with the season. I guess that's fair. I don't really like or want to talk about it though..." She let her voice trail off as she continued to walk alone.

She hadn't walked very far from when the thought had first entered her mind when she noticed movement in the grass. "Hmm....? What's that...?" she wondered aloud. She picked up the pace to go investigate the cause of the movement, however she stopped abruptly, a few meters short. "Erm...I don't actually know what's over here...maybe I should rush in headlong..." She then started creeping a bit slowly toward the rustling tall grass.

There was a time when other ponies did not want to befriend him. He looked very intimidating, and the chains that adorned his large, formidable body did not help. She was the first pony Keiran Ansar explored the forests with around these parts. And when they got lost in the dark woods at night, she was able to light the way home without any predators noticing. She was a lifesaver. I wonder what Jin has been up to, Keiran Ansar thought, as he leaned toward her and spoke. "Hey, Jin. Nice day, is it not? What's been going on? I haven't seen you in a really long time." Keiran Ansar thought about getting up, but he was too lazy. As long as he felt it was appropriate, he was going to stay on the ground, lying on the grass.

Jin startled at the sudden words coming from the grass. She reared up slightly on her hind legs and let out a scared whine. Though she quickly thought to herself, "Wait...I uh...that voice...i know that voice..." Her eyes narrowed as she curiously crept toward the direction of the noise.

Upon closer inspection of the rustling grass, she discovered the source of the voice, a long time friend who she'd shared many adventures, tears, and heartbreak with.

"Oh...Keiran, is that you? It has been a while! What in the world are you doing lazing around in the middle of nowhere?" she inquired of him, head tilted. He was a bit odd, a bit different, but she didn't mind. So was she, in her own way. They seemed unlikely companions to onlookers, and she vividly recalled many a times they got odd stares as they were out and about. Even just being friends, it seemed people never quite approved... "It's none of their business...." she mumbled quietly, unaware the thought had formed words.

Keiran Ansar yawned as he stretched out his body a little bit. "Oh, I just came here to think. To ruminate about life... where I have been, where I am now, and where I am going. Then you showed up." Keiran Ansar smiled. "A blast from the past... Remember that time when we went out to the woods at night, heard a bunch of coyotes, and you lit the way home? That was a great trip. It's a vivid memory for me, for sure." Keiran Ansar continued to elaborate on the trip, as he remembered it like it was yesterday. That's the trip when he really thought he could consider Lin as a friend. She was reliable and kind. Other ponies were not that way. They didn't even seem to enjoy being around him. Some even seemed as though they were afraid of him. He had almost given up on making friends in the area. But she was different. And he was glad. Keiran Ansar felt the warmth of the green grass and relaxed. He was hanging out with his good, old friend, taking a trip down memory lane. Isn't this nice? He pondered as he waited for her to respond.

Jin let out an animated laugh and nodded. "Yeah, that was some adventure there. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, but we made it through ok. And who knew! We also befriended one of those little coyotes. Poor thing was lost too, in a sort of way..." her voice trailed.

That night, while they were trying to find their way out of the woods and to safety, they stumbled across a frightened young coyote, cowering amongst the brush. Initially, they were fearful, thinking it was waiting in ambush, perhaps with other hiding nearby. But as it turned out, he was genuinely fearful. As it turned out, he had also been the subject of rejection and ridicule. He had ran away, but in the blindness of his sadness and pain, had gotten horribly lost. He hadn't been sure what to make of these ponies, just as they were unsure of him. But there was a connection between the three of them, and soon, the little coyote was following them out of the woods and home.

"You know, we haven't seen him in a while, either. I'd really love to see him again and reminisce about those days with him, as well." She tilted her head, wondering what Keiran would have to say about this shared memory.

I really did think it was an ambush, and we might have to fight it out in the dark. I still think it was crazy that it was just one little guy, and he was so unhappy..." Keiran Ansar closed his eyes and replayed the memory in his mind. Yeah, it was a strange memory-- one he could not forget and one he did not want to forget. "I still can't believe we befriended him. Kind of nuts, don't you think? We thought we might be goners. Nuts, how we ended up leaving the encounter, making a new friend?"

Keiran Ansar sighed, and looked up toward his friend. As he awaited her response, he closed his eyes and listened. The birds were softly chirping around them, and he could hear the wind. The wind was warm, and it made him feel sleepy. Smiling, Keiran Ansar relaxed.

He pondered about going on a trip with Lin again. How nice it would be. How they could hang out, have fun, reminisce some more about the past, and make new memories. How wonderful it is to see his old friend. But would Lin be up for it? Would she even want to go on another trip with him after so long? Who knows.
