〖...〚 𝐫ᑌ𝓜ⓞʳs 〛...〗
Information heard in the streets of the Nexus

★ Sharazahd Wilkins is offering a bounty for the capture of a criminal: Rain Mortis.
Bounty posted is 10mil credits to be exchanged into their equivalent realm currency.
Rumors You Might Hear About the Bounty
As told by Alice
"The first, and most embarrassing option, is that General Wilkins is an old army buddy with Miss Rain's beloved, Mister Nicho Raynar. Dying of jealousy over their relationship, he wishes to capture Miss Rain and 'enemies to lovers' their situation. This particular rumor is a favorite amongst housekeeping."
"The second rumor is that Mister Nicho himself is working with the General under the belief that Miss Rain is still possessed, and Mister Nicho wants to use the company to either contain her, or to find a way to separate the two."
"The last rumor that has come is perhaps the most boring, but the most believable. General Wilkins is perhaps the Captain Wilkins that Miss Rain worked under back when she was a child on Terra twenty-six. However, that was five hundred years or so ago, so that is unconfirmed entirely. He is the undisputed owner of a company called Helix Industries, which took over a project under the name of Angellus. Miss Rain was the first and last successful fusion of pure elemental magic and a human, in a way that is fully stable. It's said that General Wilkins wants her so that he can continue the project, and perhaps make more soldiers like her."
"And.....finally...the truth is we don't know the beef. The only thing we've been able to confirm is that Sorcha works with him. Which makes sense, given that their research into Angellus is her dream. Silas has been working very hard to get a person on the inside, but their security is tight, so information has come very slowly."

★ It is said that Rain Mortis, known as the Impulse, has returned, and the demon possessing her is wreaking havoc in the realms

★ Realm 2930 - Artiza is collapsing. Travel to this realm is prohibited

★ Realm 1350 - Miere is collapsing. Travel to this realm is prohibited.

★ Realm 1620 - Objects from this realm are prohibited sales in all Class 3 realms.

★ The information guild is looking for any knowledge about the God Killer, Aestrodamus

Lightning cracks...Your hand in mine...The world collapses...we're out of time...
Your smile I break...You breathe. I kneel...Tell me this pain is something real...
I'd burn it down for one last view...even if it kills me too...

It had been ten years since Rain had stepped through this portal last with the intention of going into the metropolis before her.

But step through she did.

The portal dies down behind her, and a grin spreads across her face. Her silver hair seemed to catch the light as she walks forward, her silver gaze focusing on the pathway before her. The dying garden. Her fingers hook in the front of her gunbelts, the twin pistols tied down to her thighs so they wouldn't wiggle when she walked. A black hoodie covered most of her torso, gloves on her hands, and black jeans on her legs. Her brown boots were laced up to her knee, and all in all, she looked like she belonged there in the darkness.

Something about her personality.

Chuckling, she walks forward, heading for the main streets of the city she used to know well. Back when Nurren was in this city. Back when this was home base. How he would be shocked to see this place now.... She snorts at the thought, pulling her hood up to cover her silver hair. It wasn't enough to disguise her, sure, but she wouldn't be using her name here. Rain Mortis wouldn't be welcomed most places, after all. Not without many people trying to take advantage of that pesky bounty.

Her boots click on the streets as she makes her way. Once she reached the main area, she breathes in the metallic scent around her. Her silver gaze flickers over the merchants and their wares around her. But her focus was on something rather specific today. And none of these merchants would have it, she was sure. She stops at the doors of the Musique, looking up at the well worn sign. This place used to be something rather special. And now it was simply a front for the information guild. How things change.... She walks through the door, heading straight through the dance floor and to the bar.

He had been working for too long at this point. Cleaning glasses had become boring. At this point, any excitement would be a change from the monotony. Though the city often gave him exactly what he asked for. The demon had spent too much time here. Maybe it was time for a scenic change. Next time Silas came in, he would have to ask. He would have to venture into the unknown, perhaps, but it would be better than cleaning glasses and waiting for something to fall into his lap. They had been told to stay away from Helix Industries. Someone else would handle it.

And he was trying his damndest to listen.

It was perhaps then that he noted the presence coming through the dance floor and to him. A presence he hadn't felt in too long. A grin spreads across his face, and he sets the glass he was working on down. Silver eyes flicker over the crowd, looking for the source of the elemental magic that flowed through the room. Like she couldn't keep it contained. He remembered the smell of it from so long ago. When she had burned down half the city in her rage. Elliot had chosen to work for Silas in the information guild right after that. Right after seeing her tempest strike. Figuring that would be the best place to get the most amusement. ąŋɖ ɬɧɛŋ ʂɧɛ ɖıɛɖ.

And then, she appeared. Wearing black and brown. Her hair hidden, but her spotlight eyes catching the lights as she wandered the floor. The lack of pupils was the dead giveaway that it wasn't someone else. Tapping his fingertips on the bar, he thinks about the options, mulling over the ideas that flowed through his head. The bounty was tempting. But honestly, who had the time and the extra lives to take on тнє ιмρυℓѕє?

Only stupid people. And Elliot Larkspur was not stupid.

He raises an eyebrow, waiting for her to make her way to the bar. HIS bar. In Silas' dance club. But...she was coming in while HE was working. Like it was kismet. He had asked for this, after all. Something exciting. And there she was. The problem child of the Nexus herself. The reason for the most destruction the demon had ever witnessed. He just hoped he had whatever information she was seeking.

The demon hadn't had this much thrill rush through his system in a long time.

Her silver gaze locks on the bar, traveling over it to see who was there. Mostly to see if she recognized someone. Pausing as her eyes travel to Elliot, she smirks. Sauntering over, she bounces herself into a stool, folding her fingers under her chin. "Elliot." The name comes lightly, and she grins wide. Perhaps it was worth it to come all the way out to the Nexus. Right away, something rather amusing happened. "You look the same as always."

She knew that she looked different from back in the day. But she also knew that the silver-eyed demon in front of her didn't see people like normal. He was more attuned to energies than anyone she had ever met. Tapping the back of her hand with one of her laced fingers, she leans in, and speaks lightly. "I would like the Sommerset vintage today, Elliot." She used a hard T sound at the end of his name.

Looking him over, she considers the last time she had seen him. It was before the violin. Before Arkenos. But after she had wrecked Nurren's buildings. The demon had been looking for entertainment. Had latched onto Silas and his business. Jaegen back in the day. This would be rather entertaining.

Especially with why she was there.

If anyone could spread the word she was looking to spread, it was the demon before her. Though she would have to make sure he kept his lips sealed towards Silas. She needed this to happen without his interference. He definitely wouldn't like her plan. Honestly, she barely liked it, but with the information that had leaked, she was going to need it to happen sooner rather than later. Risika had warned her that the Nexus wasn't her concern, but Rain was pretty sure she could do both. Hubris was her favorite game face, after all.

Amusement drifts across his face as she wanders herself right on up to settle at his bar. Drumming fingertips and a lingering gaze are his only motions for a moment. At her request for the Sommerset vintage, the demon's eyes narrow, and a grin spreads across his features. "What a delightful request, Rain." He speaks her name low, taking the glass he had just finished cleaning and rolling it over the back of his hand, flipping it before setting it carefully on the bar. He steps back, his gaze never leaving her. She was one to keep track of, after all.

A ꌗ꓄ꂦꋪꂵ had risen in his sanctuary.

Taking a bottle of unknown black liquid from the back shelf, he steps back towards her, his eyebrow raising artfully up his forehead. "We usually give those particular grapes to our dear leader. F̴a̴s̴c̴i̴n̴a̴t̴i̴n̴g̴ that you come to gather them yourself." Pouring the black liquid into the cup before him, he slides it towards her, his grin refreshing on his face, his silver eyes not leaving hers.

He considers his spiderweb of intelligence, his head cocking to the side as he listens for a moment. Spreading his hands, he looks at her apologetically. "Unfortunately, there is no new vintage as of recent. The b̾i̾r̾d̾ ̾m̾a̾s̾t̾e̾r̾ would probably have more. His spies are able to swoop into places my spiders have not yet reached." Leaning forward against the bar, he rests his hands on the center, bringing his face terribly close to hers. Closer than was perhaps necessary for an exchange of information. "Or perhaps you seek something that our dear leader often keeps for his own....perusal."

That grin spreads once more and he leans back to his place, taking a glass in hand, wiping off moisture spots with a towel that he pulled from his shoulder.

He watches her carefully, the fascination turning to curiosity. She seemed different. Lє𝐒ᔕsomehow. As if something was missing from her that made her intrinsically 𝓗𝓔𝓡. It was something to ponder over. Perhaps even obsess over, if he gave himself enough of a leash to do such things. His silver perusal lingers over her, taking in the return of her left eye, as well as the missing scars on her skin. Flawless, she was. Like a newly risen being. His eyebrows lift as the idea occurs to him. ℝ𝕖𝕤𝕦𝕣𝕣𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟.

                              A giggle echoes.

Someone had done something rather forbidden in the Dark City, it seemed.

A chill ran through her system as he speaks her name. Usually, it wouldn't bother her. It was her own name, after all. But the way he said it was unnerving. Honestly, she would rather he call her literally anything else at that point. Though what that would be, she hadn't the faintest. Luckily, however, she kept a poker face about it. Taking the drink as he slides it over, she takes a sip.

There are a few things in this world that Rain was really good at keeping said poker face about. One was just around people, generally. Another was when she was conning someone and needed to don the friendly face. But the one she struggled with most was in this moment, when that black liquid slid across her tongue and down her throat. She had forgotten what romshen was like. The amount of time she had taken numbing her taste buds to it's particular texture and taste.

She supposed she handled it well, just taking a bit longer to swallow than usual.

Rain didn't cough out loud, and for that she gave herself props. Nailed it... Licking her lips, she sets the glass down, deciding that she should not take another sip. Folding her fingers together, she keeps her gaze on his, and grins impishly. Managing to not lean away from his lean in was another point in her favor. "Fortunately, the vintage I came for is the realm of spiders, not birds, Elliot." She speaks lightly.

Hearing that Silas was keeping something from her sent a wave of frustration through her system. Because of course he was. She knew who he was all along, after all. Tightening her fingers together, she keeps that smile on her face, not wanting to lose it in front of someone who would devour her weakness given the option and availability.

Then, folding one leg over the other, she tilts her head to the side, the grin spreading. "How do you feel about a nighttime jaunt? A small adventure, in other words?" This was exactly the demon she needed on her side for the next part of her newest plot. After all, spiders got into the most fascinating of places.

His grin only spreads when she takes a sip of the black liquid. ᖇօʍʂհҽղ. It wasn't for everyone, but the throwback was always a fun one to put out for those in the guild and inner circle. Her reaction to it was hardly noticeable, unless you were watching ever so closely. And if there was something he prided himself in, it was that he was always watching 𝓉𝑒𝓇𝓇𝒾𝒷𝓁𝓎 closely.

Holding up the glass he was working on to the light, he keeps his gaze on her, amusement dripping from him. Excitement traveling through his very skin. This was truly fascinating. "Delighted to hear that you feel that way about spiders, Miss." The demon chirps the words lightly, setting the now clean glass down and dropping the towel on the counter. His fingers drum on the surface as he admires her, his silver gaze locking on her own.

He wouldn't sling it over his shoulder again as now there was the fascinating prospect of a jaunt. ꪖ ᦓꪑꪖꪶꪶ ꪖᦔꪜꫀꪀꪻꪊ᥅ꫀ, she says. His silver eyes flicker around the room; at the dancers lining the floor. Swaying and mixing their ecstasies. Deviance and desire seeping into every crack of the building he had resided in far too long. The demon looks back at her and raises an eyebrow. "You would have me leave my guests unattended?" His words said one thing while his spreading grin said another.

After all, she knew full well that the place didn't need him to continue on. ₑᵣₐₛₘᵤₛ did his work in the back rooms too well. The haze of lust in the air wouldn't extinguish unless someone stepped in and stopped the creature from working his magics. Their cover was far too complete. Which was what annoyed some of the other denizens of the Nexus about this place. Specifically ꓄ꃅꍟ ꁅꍟꈤꍟꋪꍏ꒒, the demon mused.

Tapping the bar twice with his knuckles, he extends one hand towards her, palm up. He slides the other hand into his pocket, one eyebrow twitching upwards once more. "Where shall our merry adventure begin, ℓσνєℓу?" The words come lightly, amusement in every syllable uttered. He couldn't wait to see what she had in store for him. The information he would be able to compile having to do with her first visit to the Nexus in far too long.

How she would react to how it had changed since she had been there last.

Lightning cracks...Your hand in mine...The world collapses...we're out of time...
Your smile I break...You breathe. I kneel...Tell me this pain is something real...
I'd burn it down for one last view...even if it kills me too...

Her feelings on spiders seemed to be a whole different bag entirely. Though she supposed in this sense, spiders were a gaggle of things she needed help from. The demon before her was good at what he did, and she just had to keep that in mind. No matter how many weird feelings she was getting from this whole scenario. Especially the weirdness of Elliot's particular interest in her.

Or anyone fascinating enough, she supposed.

The room around her would continue on either way, she figured. No matter what happened next. She seldom had reason to come into this building in the past. Generally, she sent Moshi or Silas. Even way back when. Though back then it was a club run by humans, and the haze of desire wasn't so present in it. Now it was a darker place, run by something heavier than sin.

At least, she was sure that it wasn't natural, whatever was happening here.

Rain watches as he seems to consider the room around them. Though she knew that he was barely doing that. As he extends a hand, a small pause went through her, followed by a wide grin. "The spire, my dear sir." She reaches forward, placing her hand in his extended. I don't mean to meddle, but the devil doesn't settle... The words flit through her mind, but her grin doesn't falter with the chill that drifts through her bones.

She was sure that whatever happened next would haunt her for ages after this. Trusting the being in front of her to not yeet her off the edge of the city was an anxiety that she hadn't realized lived inside her body until this very moment when their hands met, and she thought maybe, perhaps, she was making a small mistake.

Possibly.
