RP tidbit: The night was quiet—soft, endless, and wrapped in silver light.
Lyla lay curled atop a smooth outcropping of stone, her emerald scales catching faint glimmers of moonlight like scattered leaves in a gentle breeze. The world below had long since gone still… no rustling prey, no distant calls—just the slow hush of night settling in.
Her brown eyes, warm and earthy, were fixed on the sky above.
So many stars.
They stretched endlessly, like scattered embers across a darkened canvas. Lyla watched them in silence, her tail giving a lazy flick against the stone as her chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm.
“…I wonder how far they go…”
Her voice was soft—barely more than a sleepy murmur carried off by the wind.
She liked to imagine they were places. Other skies. Other worlds. Maybe other dragons, curled up just like her, staring back.
The thought made her lips curl into the faintest smile.
A cool breeze brushed along her wings, and she shifted slightly, tucking them closer around herself. The stone beneath her still held the warmth of the day, a gentle comfort against the growing chill of night.
Her eyelids began to grow heavy.
Still, she fought it for just a moment longer… not wanting to miss the quiet beauty above her.
“…Just a little longer…”
But sleep was patient.
It crept in slowly—soft as falling ash—until her gaze blurred and the stars melted into glowing streaks of light.
Her breathing deepened.
Her body stilled.
And beneath the endless sky, Lyla drifted off at last—curled beneath the stars she loved, dreaming of distant skies she might one day reach.
