The scenery changes from month to month, as it is a growing city.
As of now:

At the edge of a crumbling city, one would find a strange group of buildings.
Trees had grown in the area, and tents were set up in random places, housing vendors of varying kinds.
They changed from week to week, depending on who was in the area.
The buildings were distinct, but not very well kept from the outside.
In the center was a fountain with a beautiful woman in the middle.
She looked almost real.
Water poured from a tree above her, cascading around her into a pond that housed fish.
The garden around it was beautiful, and didn't seem to match the buildings around it.

Not much to go on. But the flyers had been specific. It was a haven.

Building One
The sign on the door reads:
"End of the World Pub and Grill"
This is the hub of everything.
The gathering place where people could relax and unwind.
All are welcome, and none are turned away.

Building Two
The sign on the door reads:
"End of the World Inn"
This is where all travelers are directed to.
They can stay as long as they like.
And their room's are free of charge.
Donations are accepted, but none are demanded.

Building Three
The sign on the door reads:
"Clinic and Apothecary"
The door is usually locked,
and none enter or leave as far as anyone can tell.
The only one who may know is Risika,
and she isn't going to say a word.

Building Four
The sign on the door reads:
"Solicitors Are Not Welcome"
This is the home of Risika.
Enter only at your own risk.

End of the World Pub and Grill
Brushed cedar counters and tables litter the main room.
The lighting is dimmed so to add comfort to the room.
Rich blue velvet curtains cover the walls, and keep daylight from entering in.
The wait staff is friendly, and prompt.
Each will do anything to keep Risika's guests happy.
Drinks are served from the bar, a variety of drinks hidden behind closed cupboard doors.
A kitchen can be found through the back,
where the wait staff works to make whatever your heart desires.
There are tables scattered in front of this place, to allow for outdoor seating.
The people of the city often have parties out here at night to keep their spirits light as they rebuild the city.

End of the World Inn
Stepping inside, you'd find yourself staring down a hallway.
At the end is an elevator, going to the other two floors.
The first floor has a fitness room on the right, and a pool and hot tub on the left.
Ten rooms are on the second and ten on the third floor, five on each side of the hall.
Each room is furnished simply with dark furniture, and blue curtains and blankets.
They have a bed, a dresser, a nightstand, and a stand up closet
as well as a bathroom with a deep bathtub, a double sink, and a large walk in shower.
Each room on the second and third floor have a balcony with French doors leading out to it.

If the room is available, a key will be hung on the outside of the door.
You can take the key for as long as you are staying.
Instructions inside the room let you know that there is a drop box for keys in the main foyer.
That will let housekeeping know the room needs to be cleaned and refreshed for the next guest.

Verrigan
...A face like a rat, and a smell like death...
This strange little man sells jewelry.
It looks homemade.
It's made of strange stones and jewels.
Something pretty, and for a good price...

Thomas McGuire
...Swordmaster...
This man sells weaponry.
He has a shrewd bartering system, and doesn't like strangers.
Which is a horrible combination.
All in all, he doesn't sell all that much.
Maybe he is here for another reason...

Serafina
...A whisper on the wind...
She sells fortunes.
A traveler, here to find new life.
She'll tell your fortune, for a price.
But be careful what you ask for...

Reagan
...The Friendly Giant...
His stall sells street food.
He likes to see people eat and be happy.
New flavors every day
Fruits and vegetables seem fresh, all things considered
Meats are mystery in origin most days

Every evening...
At night, the surviving city dwellers will all come together into the clearing and set up booths and tents.
String lights will decorate the area, and tables will be scattered about the clearing.
The booths and tents will have food, music, and entertainment.
A party every night to celebrate the progress they were making rebuilding, and their continued survival together.
Bonfires are scattered around with dancing.

This gathering is open to anyone, and the food and drinks are free.

The Story So Far....

This area used to be the Dark Temptations Bar.
When Nataliah and Avaris had their fight, the bar was destroyed,
leveled to the ground, and the city of Kraithos along with them.

Nataliah sealed Avaris inside herself, making her into a statue.
Nataliah, after seeing what the fight cost the world, also sealed herself into the same statue.
That's what is in the center of the fountain.

That way, if Avaris was ever released,
the one person who could defeat her would be released as well.

Risika, seeing what had happened, pulled the surviving people of Kraithos together.
She created a haven, and jump started the city again.
Slowly, they rebuild it.

It had been too long.

The woman steps out of the ruins of the city. Her steps take her forward easily, her long legs keeping her moving quickly. Maybe now, she could rest. Checking on that child seemed to keep her going. Alice. The abomination. Maybe now the city would finally do what it was meant to do. As long as Rain didn't interfere. As long as Silas kept himself under control and quit trying to bring his morals onto Alice. It was a ridiculous situation.

She pushes hair from her face, frowning as she takes in the gathering of merchants that had gathered in her city. Her ruins. Her sanctuary. Risika could feel the soft annoyance. But for now, she would let them be. After all, they kept this place alive. And the point of having a place like this was to allow the city to grow again. Allow it to thrive once more. She just had to be patient enough to let them do what they needed to do. To fix it. To fix what had been broken before.

Workers went in and out of the city. It drove her mad. They kept coming for healing. She had promised to help, but they asked too much. Her steps finally pause in front of her home. She slips inside. Dropping her bags inside the door, she sighs softly. Perhaps this was how it was to be. She would check on the child, and then return, not letting anyone know of her presence here.

She couldn't let them know. Slipping her gloves off, she tosses them towards the laundry pile, then steps back out of her house, securing the door. Her steps now take her to the bar. She could use a drink after what she had seen. The Scientist was getting brave. Her green dress drags on the ground behind her, the ropes tying it to her secure. Her curves were hidden in the mass, but she was comfortable. The Khaosi would forever be her own creature.

Stepping into the bar, she sighs again, moving to where the drinks were. She could use several. It had been a long journey, and she was ever so tired.

"Risika."

The man melts out of the shadows. Black boots click on the floor of the bar. Following up the leg were the same old black slacks as always, his black shirt tucked in with a white vest over the top. A ragged red scarf, clashing with all of it hung around his neck. A pair of thin sunglasses hid his red and black eyes from view. One hand in his pocket, the other pulling a cigarette from his lips, he exhales, letting the portal close behind him.

"It's been some time."

The words were simple. Easy. Silas had been looking for her for a long time, after all. And now he finally found her. In the first place he should have looked. Dark Temptations. The ruins of the city. Of course she was there. Taking another drag of the cigarette, he exhales smoke around his head, then speaks again.

"I thought maybe you'd come back on your own. Probably the only reason I found you. You were watching Alice."

Which had only become useful because HE was watching Alice. Something that he would never tell the girl. But it was a rather important thing, in his mind. He had to make sure she wasn't losing herself to Siren. Though he was pretty sure that they might be nearing the point of no return on that one. He extinguishes the cigarette on the bottom of his shoe, stuffing the butt into his pocket.

A frown crosses her face at the voice that came from the shadows. Only to deepen when the man himself came through them. Still looking as he had all those years ago when they first met. Her eyes narrow on him, and she speaks dryly. "Why are you here, de Luca?" Placing her hands on her hips, she stops in what she was doing before, turning fully to face him. Her deep green eyes focus on him, the orbs almost black in their coloring. She had dark circles under her eyes. She had not slept since she had left the dark city. And it was a long journey. Silas was not the face she was hoping to see here.

He had not been invited.

He did not need her patience like this city did.

Then, with a huff, she folds her long arms over her chest, drumming her fingers on her arm. This was a perplexing situation. Perhaps she should not have been looking in on the girl. "You cannot tell them I am here." The Khaosi speaks firmly, tapping her foot on the floor twice as if to solidify her point. Then, brushing her fingers through her hair, tucking it behind her pointed ears, she sighs, turning away.

It had been too long since she had someone familiar in here. All the people who came through were strangers. Workers. City dwellers. People who needed her help. She was pretty sure the only thing Silas needed was to be sent away. Placing her hands on the bar, she thinks about her options. She could just use magic and send him away. Send him somewhere quiet. But that would be more of a headache than him being here.

She was out of good options.

Pulling out that crumpled pack of cigarettes from his pocket, he shakes one out and takes it between his lips. Stuffing the pack back where it belonged, he plays with his lighter in his fingers, swirling it between the digits as he thinks.

"Valentine, now, actually. Silas. If that matters at all."

The last name was said val-un-teen rather than the usual val-en-tine. And it had always been a part of his name, though hardly used. Lighting the end of his cigarette, he exhales a long breath of smoke before continuing.

"And cool your britches, Ris. I'm not here to tattle on your hiding space. I need your help."

Reaching into the shadows beside him, he pulls out a small black book. On it was written a single word: Incarnations. Setting it on the bar next to her, he takes a seat, tugging his red scarf away from his neck.

"For payment, I offer my notes on the Ethereal. Everything I learned about Mosholaitenraa the Songstress is in those pages. I know that her existence perplexes you."

Grinning, the chaos demon exhales smoke once more, tapping his cigarette lightly to get rid of the ashes on the end. It was a cheap shot, he knew. There were so many things in the world that Risika would refuse, and he was on that list more often than not. Hopefully playing this card would work in his favor and not get him banished to another realm.

"Interested?"

There were a great many reactions the woman could give to the reveal that he had once more changed his name. However, the Khaosi chose to just fold her arms over her chest, cocking her hip to the side. Deep green eyes lock on his face, and her straight face didn't change. "I'm not calling you that." The words come simply. He was intruding into her space, and bringing those foul cigarettes with him. His relation to Alice only gave him so much wiggle room in her mind, however.

His offer of the book, however, moved her. The gaze flickers from him to the tome, then back to him. With an arch of her eyebrow, she steps forward, taking the slim volume in hand and holding it up. "I'll give you ten minutes, de Luca." Of course, information about the Ethereal was the one thing he could offer to get this chance.

It was annoying how much he knew. And how smug he was about the whole thing.

Her eyes focus on his cigarette, and she waves her fingers. The offending stick went up in flames, and she tucks the book into a fold of her dress. As if there was a pocket there. Though if there was it was a mystery known only to the woman before him. Stepping back, she sits down in the air and a stool appears behind her, catching her before she could even think of falling.

Grabbing a bottle of wine, she pours some into a glass, not offering him anything. She just watches him, waiting for his words to begin.

She was sure she'd hate all of them.

The cigarette went up in flames and he had the wherewithal to stare at where it used to be in a calm sort of manner. Even though he was screaming inside his head. Looking to the woman in front of him, he recovers, leaning forward, letting his hand drop from his face.

"Fair enough. More than I can ask for."

Clearing his throat, he pushes to his feet, pacing a few feet. Pacing back, he then starts.

"Right. So. Serenity...... Alice. I know. Not my business. But Ris. I need it to be your business. She's reaching the point of no return. And I did something she's not going to forgive me for."

Rubbing the back of his neck, he looks to the woman. The Khaosi. He frowns a little, then sighs and just lets it all out in a rush.

"I gave Sorcha a hint on how to make her hexengeist magic not replenish as fast. A poison of sorts. And she took the bait. It's in Alice's system now. Which gives us time to get her to agree to a binding. And....of all the creatures in her orbit, I'm sure you would take advantage of that the least. You have to convince her, Risika. Cereza is struggling to remember that she has to keep that damn Lich asleep, and Rain is back. It's getting hairy out there."

He really needed a smoke. Grimacing, he stuffs his hands into his pockets. It hadn't been ten minutes. But honestly, that was the whole shebang. Now, he just had to hope she didn't vaporize him or anything petty like that.

The Khaosi keeps her unreadable gaze on Silas as he speaks. Her expression revealed nothing as he continued, but a slight stiffening of her shoulders exposed her revulsion. Leaning forward ever so slowly, she pushes to her feet, dusting her hands together as if she could just erase the words that came out of his mouth. "I was right in my assumption that I would hate every single individual word that came out of you, de Luca." Her tone was quiet and she just walks through the bar, phasing through it as if nothing was there.

Grabbing his scarf, she yanks him towards her, not feeling like her patience would be useful in that moment. Her patience was left for the workers in the city. The people who clung to their hope, wanting to rebuild the shattered buildings scattered around her place. Her home. Her sanctuary. His stench would linger for too long. "You are a complete and utter insufferable idiot, Jaegen Abhorren Silas Valentine de Luca." She says each of his names clearly, tightening her grip on that godforsaken scarf.

After a moment, her dark green hues roll and she steps back, releasing his scarf, wiping her hand against the front of her dress. Walking to a window, she pushes it open. Her lips twitch in a gentle smile at the breeze, followed by it shutting down with her frown. "This is not my problem. The girl will take care of herself given time. We already have an accord in place for when she fails." She speaks, then looks at Silas, her frown deepening.

"Your interference will cause her nothing but false hope, de Luca. You had to know." The Khaosi folds her arms over her chest, that hip popping out once more. She drums her fingers on her arm, considering.

Long ago, she would have stepped in immediately. Having a weapon like the child would have been quite the boon. Something to celebrate. But that had been before she was watched her grow. Seen her potential. Her strange unending light in a place where darkness thrived. Taking a breath, the woman releases it, then waves one hand. "I will send her a book." That was the extent of her help. After all, the girl didn't need her any longer.

She was the apothecary and healer that the dark city would need for the days to come. The Khaosi didn't have the patience for the filth any longer. She wished for something clearer. Something not as murky. This city was the last chance she was giving the living.

Silas manages to look offended for a moment before Risika grabbed his scarf. Holding up his hands as if in surrender, he smiles sheepishly. The full name drop was something he wasn't expecting, though it was on point for her usual behaviors.

"I wouldn't say that in so many words, Ris."

Then, she releases him and he stumbles back, loosening his scarf around his neck. The thing seemed to cause him a lot of problems. Whether it was Rain insulting it, or Risika grabbing it. Like long hair. Dusting himself off, he sits in the seat he chose again, resting his ankle on his knee and leaning back.

"And what do you mean you have an accord for when she fails. Don't you mean if?"

He frowns. She'd send a book? How was that going to help anything? Folding his arms across his chest, he watches her, black and red eyes narrowed.
