'Of all the ill-luck omens one can encounter in the dark... I rather think that basically marching snout first into a Shifter is literally the King of 'as bad as it can get'...' Mutters an unimpressed corner of her mind.
After a chance encounter results in a series of painful slashes and a narrow -admittedly daring if rather ill-conceived- escape, Oentavi finds herself fleeing for her very survival through what becomes leagues of foreign territory. She has not recognized her surroundings or spotted a familiar landmark of any kind for probably two candle-marks by the time she halts in the dark, the sides of her barrel heaving as she sucks in and pushes out air. There is no longer a crashing sound of pursuit, though admittedly she wasn't exactly paying attention to when it tapered off or stopped. Much more important to run until the thing catches you, or not, rather than tracking precisely when it gives up.
The moon breaks through the clouds and dips tentatively down into the meadow she stands in the midst off, painting over her steaming figure. Both her coat and breath nearly steam in the cool air of the evening. A testament to her efforts, the varying shades of soft dappled grey and blue roan in her coat are sweated into a rather indistinguishable charcoal. Outside of her family, it is unlikely anyone would recognize her in the current state. The only light on her at the moment aside from her tangled mane and tail is the absolute lather she's worked up in her fearful flight.
"You made it, you made it..." She muttered to herself, the words fracturing as she tried to regulate her breathing. She would only give herself a moment or two of standing before she resumed moving... knowing that cramping up after a mad flight and a dead cold halt would be extremely painful as well as highly likely. "You made it, so let's take it easy, Tavi..."
Take it easy... where?
"Oh.. Oh no."
