2. This is an 18+ space!
Not because we hate kids (kids are great), but because of liability reasons. We don't want anybody here to get in legal trouble because they accidentally said or did something inappropriate that ended up harming a minor. Go ahead and leave now, because if we find out you're under 18, you're getting kicked and perma-banned! While this isn't a NSFW server, sometimes adults happen to talk about things that are too inappropriate, mind-breaking (in the bad way), or just downright boring for children.
We want you to be safe AND not waste your time. Seeya, and come back when you're older!


3. Be Excellent to Each Other!
No harassment, bullying, slurs, hate speech, dogpiling, rudeness, witch-hunting, or any other behavior that is intentionally harmful or abusive to others. This is a group for artists of many different identities. If someone is doing something that sucks, report/tag/message a moderator or admin about it! If someone is being sucky to you in the chatroom, screenshot it for evidence and disengage from that person.


4. Do not start fandom drama!
This is a place to support others and get support for yourself as an artist! We want to keep the space nice for everyone. So that means no shipping wars, no hating on other people for their favorite fandoms, no flaming people for their OCs, no dogpiling, no cyberbullying, no flaming people. You are not entitled to participate in this space, and you will be given a warning!
If you find yourself enraged that some stranger online is making your favorite (or most hated) fictional characters kiss like they're playing Barbie dolls, log off, go outside, and touch grass about it.
If you think someone is acting out-of-line or they're making you uncomfortable, it is your responsibility to disengage from that person, report the poster, and contact a moderator/admin.


5. We Don't Tolerate Intolerance!
We have a zero-tolerance policy for the presence of white supremacists, *****, zoophiles, eugenicists, homophobes, trans-exclusionary radical feminists, misogynists, or any other groups and belief systems that built their patronage around preying upon the marginalized, the downtrodden, or the less-fortunate. Bigots and CHUDs are NOT welcome here, and will be removed immediately and without warning! 6. No GenAI slop!
Do not post images made with Generative AI/ML or agentic technology. We are an anti-GenAI group, full stop. Do not post plagiarized images. Not even for hate-watching or funny ragebait. If you suspect someone is posting GenAI or plagiarized/stolen images, disengage with that person and report it to a moderator/admin.


7. This is not a dating group!
This is a group for artists, art enthusiasts, and folks from different walks of life to have a safe and enjoyable community to share cool artwork, tips & tricks, anti-AI resources, and other art-related content!
While no minors are allowed, this is still NOT a NSFW server! Do not post porn, NSFW, or 18+ sexual content here. Don't make unsolicited advances on other people here, or be creepy, gross, or explicit. There are already plenty of other spaces on the internet where you can do that.


8. No Spamming Please!
Don't post repetitive content, don't flood the main feed, spam people's comments, spam their inboxes, etc! Consider how many times you post in a set time period. This isn't a hard-and-fast rule; it just comes down to being considerate. This includes being mindful of content previously posted; do your best to check and see if someone already shared it. If you feel the impulse to break this rule, Chatterbox is always open. Duplicate posts may be removed.


9. Be Considerate of Criticism!
Don't offer criticism, constructive or otherwise, UNLESS THE ARTIST WHO POSTED HAS SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR IT! Don't bash or flame artwork or the artist if you don't like it for whatever reason. We have a Critique Topic for people who want to receive feedback on their work. Likewise, if someone says something about your artwork that you disagree with, be civil about your disagreement! The best thing about advice is that you can choose whether to take it or leave it.


10. Always Give Credit!
If you are posting someone else's artwork, be sure to credit them. Also, make sure the original artist is ok with their art being reposted! If the original artist doesn't like reposts, you can always submit a link/embed to their artwork instead! This rule also applies to yourself: we'd love to know if you made the artwork that you're posting, so that we can give you nice comments and hi-fives and stuff! Any art posts found to violate this rule will be removed.


11. Rules Are Subject to Amendment!
If something important comes up that needs attention, we'll let you know with a notification here before making a change to the rules. Please don't be the reason we have to add a new rule. If you're ever unsure about a rule, or have any questions, contact a mod or admin using the ⁠mod-contact-info page!


12. Do Your Best to Stay On-Topic!
We understand that conversations evolve, and topics being discussed can change as time goes on. Keep relevant information in their respective topics! Don't post memes in the resources channel, and don't post resources in the memes channel. Likewise, if someone makes a topic where they just wanna post their art, don't start derailing their topic.


13. We're All Only Human!
This list of rules is not a binding contract by any means, but we hope you'll be reasonable and abide by them! Otherwise, you'll get a warning. Response and discipline to rule violations will be handled on a case-by-case basis by mods.

OTHER NOTEWORTHY THINGS:
1. If Gaia Online staff sells any part of their site to GenAI or data-scraping services that could jeopardize the safety of your artwork at any point, we will shutter this Guild at lightspeed (with given notice, if circumstances and time allows for it) and anything you post here may be forever lost, with the express purpose of protecting everyone's artwork/writing from getting fed into an algorithmic data set without their consent. So please back up and save anything precious to you on a hard drive, trust no one, and don't rely on this space as a storage.

2. This is a private forum, with the purpose of keeping data scrapers, bots, randos, shitehawks, and other similar bullies out. Botting, scraping, crawling, and other automated web-parsing is explicitly prohibited by Gaia TOS (but that doesn't mean people won't try to use them at some point). If we catch you using these technologies within this space and betraying people's trust, we will take extensive measures against you.

3. To be clear: be respectful and don't feed other people's work into an algorithmic machine or GenAI without their written permission. If mods find out you're committing this cardinal sin of unforgivable betrayal: you will not only be kicked from the group, you will not just be blacklisted here, but you will be Ultra-Blacklisted and your name will be dragged across the entirety of Al Gore's Internet for eternity. Take consent seriously.

4. Rules may be updated to change at any time. We will post a date-stamped notification and do our best to let everyone in the guild know when they do. If you have an issue with any of the rules, feel free to DM one of the mods/admins and we can either explain it in more detail or make adjustments if needed.
