Odainsaker figured if she was headed up to her wonder, she might as well bring someone that Neona enjoyed talking to. The squire had sent for Joy and was waiting by their meeting spot for the woman to join her. She was bringing with her a few presents as well, a couple of wind chimes and a few rain chains. She had plans to put them up, if not this trip eventually to help give the wonder more life to it. After all, it was eerily quite and it bothered her, she could only fathom what Neona felt about the lack of sounds. "I do hope Neona likes these" She said as she was looking into the bag that held the presents for her ancestor.

LP I am so sorry I have not had tag brain space crying "I hope so too," sang out a voice, Joy manifesting - almost literally - alongside her greeting. "I brought her some gifts, as well, if you don't mind me giving them to her. She mentioned liking some birds that don't exist anymore, and I saw some at an antique store I thought she might like, even if they're not exactly the same." As she was carrying nothing, the birds in question must have been tucked into her subspace. "Thank you so much for inviting me," she added, with a beaming smile. "I'm delighted to go see Odainsaker again. And Neona, of course."

Rejam it's all good I've been up way too early this week x-x OdainsakerOdainsaker beamed as Joy seemed to have manifested alongside her. "Oh good, I'm sure she'll enjoy them very much!" Odain peered around for the bag but realized Joy had it in her subspace and thought for a moment. "Oh that's a good idea, maybe the wind chimes will be good in my subspace for now~!" She dismissed her bag before turning to her companion for the night, "You're welcome, I do know Neona enjoyed speaking to you and she's excited for her letters that you send too! She has me put them out in different places so she can read them." Odain paused for a moment, "Well if you're ready off we go to see the ancestor~!" She said in a sing song voice and locked her arm with Joy's so they could whisk off to the wonder. "Sorry I'm a bit excited for this trip." Odainsaker admitted to Joy once they landed, "I have questions for Neona and I probably need to see the code depending on Neona's advice - I'm not really sure." NeonaNeona was leaning boredom clear on her face, as she leaned against a pole that had once held flags. She'd been watching the landing pad for visitors which she did a couple of times a day hoping that someone would materialize. When Joy and Odain showed up she lit up quite quickly, "Hello darlings~ it's nice to see you again Joy." Odain's ancestor's mood seemed to have changed quite quickly when the pair arrived and she moved to Joy, "You should see, Odain's gotten quite a lovely flower garden growing back and there's some sitting places I think you'd enjoy!"

It was just as well that Neona's being ready and waiting spared Joy from having to figure out what to say about the Code - a topic on which she was generally contentious with just about everyone that wasn't Gouvernail. She broke out into a smile instead, and had to resist a cruel urge to throw out her arms for a hug that she could not have. She settled instead for dropping a little curtsy, half a joke and half sincere, and then clasping her hands delightedly at the greeting she received. "I can't wait to see," she said. "I think Odainsaker needs to speak to you," she added, giving the knight a glance. "Should I go wander around for a bit until you're done? Or do you want me to listen in?" she finished, addressing the last question to Odainsaker herself.

OdainsakerOdainsaker couldn't help but smile a bit, at least Neona seemed to appreciate her work. There was a pause when she realized that Joy had addressed her, "Huh? Oh you can stay and listen in, Joy." She said, with a soft shrug, "You might have some insight too from like current day situations." The squire took a breath and pulled out her weapon and showed it to Neona, "So my weapon and magic's felt off lately and doesn't seem to be working right? Do you have any advice?" She was showing the arrows to Neona and Joy, the arrows seemed a little bent. NeonaThere was a pause when Joy said that Odainsaker had something to speak to her about and listened as her charge spoke about he weapon feeling weird. There was a pause as she thought chin in her hand looking to Joy and back to Odainsaker's hand. "So . . . you're having issues with your weapon?" There was a shrug after a moment of thinking and a glace towards Joy, "Best I can suggest is going to see the code, maybe you need to resonate with it? That's all I know that might fix whatever the issue is." There was a moment before Neona wobbled her head, trying to think of what else could be happening, but wasn't pulling anything. "You're good to to go the code alone right? I can show Joy around while you're dealing with that?" Neona sighed the code was the only other thing on this wonder that was still alive so to speak.

She had looked up sharply at the mention of Odainsaker's weapons being affected, her attention held throughout the duration of the exchange. She despised the Code - hated it - but said nothing. "Let me know what comes of that," she said. "I have a friend who's been having the same issue, and we're both at a loss. I haven't heard from anyone else affected so far." So far was terribly ominous. She tried to put the thought of her head, giving Odainsaker an encouraging smile which she did not feel. Insincerity not coming naturally to her, this took quite a bit of effort. But she'd be damned if she was going to visit someone else only to get thrust into a conversation with the Code. "Surely it'll be fine. Neona and I will keep ourselves busy."

OdainsakerOdainsaker seemed thoughtful before looking curiously at Joy who wanted to know what would come from speaking to the code as someone else is having the same issue. "Of course." The squire gave a grin as she nodded, "Hopefully they're isolated incidents and nothing crazy coming to fruition. Since I haven't really heard of anyone dealing with this issue either." The were a stretch before she gave a soft chuckle, "Of course, there should be enough to keep yourselves entertained. Oh if you'd like..." She pulled her bag from her subspace, "You two could see if there was any where you wanted to hang some of these up in the garden." She offered the bag to Joy. "I'll come help as soon as I can assuming it doesn't take long with the code." NeonaNeona looked curiously towards Joy who admitted there was someone she knew was having issues, "Interesting... it seems odd that someone would have issues with their weapon but I suppose these sorts of things happen." The was a soft shrug before making a shooing motion at Odainsaker, "Now go along, speak with the code and see if it can fix the issue. I'd much rather that be sorted out sooner rather than later because it sounds as if it could be dangerous. At least if it's left unattended." She glance however at the bag that was offered to Joy and curiously tilted her head. "Yes we'll certainly keep ourselves busy I'm sure." She smiled at the earth knight. "The Garden isn't far, I'm sure you'll love it. And do tell me have you been up to anything interesting since we last spoke?"

She let herself be led to the Garden, carrying Odainsaker's gifts as she went, ready to be directed as to where to install them. As they walked, she filled in Neona on some of what had not made it to her letters - lingering, as she did, on what had and had not come back to the Garde, in the hopes that it might instill some optimism in her host about what might return to Odainsaker as well. "Speaking of which," she said, juggling her things under her arm so that she could reach into subspace, "I hope it isn't terrible - I hope it's not cruel in some way - but I saw this when I was out and I couldn't help picking it up for you. I imagine they're not the same as the ones you described, but I thought you could tell me a favorite place to put them and look at them sometimes until the real things come back." She held out, on the palm of her hand, a pair of little birds in gold, opalescent mother-of-pearl and pink enamel - on the wings, if not on the beak and feet as described - swooping around one another on a gilded nest which might once have held a pearl of an egg, but was now empty. "Before the seagulls - Gouvernail's favorite birds, you know - came back," she added, with a suddenly-doubtful pang, "I hung up a carving of some on a wall for him. I have this superstitious idea that it helped them feel comfortable to come back. But if you'd rather not look at them, I can keep them, for when the real things return to you."

When they were rightly alone and Neona listened to Joy as she spoke about things that had come back to the Garde and what had not. She was fascinated as she hummed. The Garden was full of different sorts of flowers, which were looking better day by day. There was a little Gazebo that housed some seating and a small table. "Oh?" Neona said as she lead Joy to the Gazebo which had in her opinion the best view of the garden. "Darling, if you so much think it'll bring enjoyment it's not a bit cruel at all." She said softly in response as Joy produced a pair of little birds. Neona made a soft noise as she looked at it, "They're so pretty." She ran a hand, which passed through the object over it. A flicker of a frown was brushed away as soon as it formed. "Ah yes the seagulls~! I'm glad they came back, I'm sure he's enjoying them." There was a moment as she looked around, "I think the birds would fit rather well in here in the Gazebo don't you think?" She asked looking at Joy for her opinion as well, "I believe you maybe right, if we show them we want them to return, perhaps they will." There was a soft chuckle, "Also sometimes if you stop looking for things you sometimes find them as well. I cannot tell you how many times I use to displace my favorite fountain pen." Now she had Odainsaker use her favorite pen to pen responses to Joy for her. Often criticizing the squires penmanship when it wasn't to her standard.

This was unquestionably a bit of sound wisdom, and Joy laughed as she heard it. "That's true," she agreed, looking around for a spot to stash the birds. She nestled them safely onto a likely-looking spot, looking up to ask for Neona's approval with a raise of her eyebrows. "You can tell me where to hang these, as well," she said, hefting the bag and pulling out a windchime, gently untangling it as she went. "I hung these up all around the Garde early on as well. Great minds thinking alike." She paused, turning her eyes out towards the garden. "It looks beautiful," she said sincerely. "If you have to sit and be alone with your thoughts, I suppose this is as good a place as you could ask for to do it in."

Neona nodded, "It looks good there~ a nice place to sit and admire it." She peeked curiously into the bag when Joy brought out wind chimes. "Don't think she went over board a bit do you?" Neona asked with a soft chuckle. "I do think it'll add more interest at least it won't be as quite." She seemed to think as she moved towards a tree. "I think one should go here." "Yes it's a very good place to sit and ponder." She agreed. There was a pause as she looked around. She'd seen something move. "So... maybe I'm just wistful thinking over here, but I swore I just saw something move." She moved, "It was among the flowers." She moved towards the flowers away from the tree curiously.

She laid the chimes carefully aside, gathering up her skirts to bustle over and take a look. "Where?" she asked anxiously, holding out a hand in offer to start moving leaves aside, which she accordingly began doing, very gently and slowly, in case there really was something in there and it was easy to spook. "Oh, I hope you did, but what a shame Odainsaker isn't here to see it," she added, remembering what a strange, protective feeling of both grief and joy had flooded into her, when she had first noticed that spider building its web on the Garde.

Neona titled her head as she watched the flowers, "A little more in the middle towards the taller ones, Odain said they reminded her of Lavender and milk weed from Earth." She was watching intently, "Look, it's a little butterfly." She said softly pointing towards one of the sprigs, it was nestled softly rummaging through the fine petals. The insect looked to be the size of a Rajah Brooke's Birdwing butterfly. However, it's wings were translucent and had a rainbow of colors which made it look like stained glass when the light caught it and shown through. "It's been so long since I've seen a butterfly." She said settling in a sitting position to watch the butterfly search the flower. She looked at Joy briefly, "Do you have any butterflies on the Garde?"

It was good, that Neona asked her a question. She had been feeling like she might cry and was spared the humiliation of it, backed away from the precipice of tears when there was still nothing but a thickness in her throat easily and silently cleared away. Odainsaker should have been here for this. But it was good, at least, that Neona was. "Yes," she said, speaking softly lest she disturb the insect, still holding the leaves aside so that Neona could look at it. "A few. They were one of the first things to come back. But none were this beautiful. I don't think any of them ever will be."

Neona smiled softly as the butterfly fluttered off, she watched it for a moment curiously. It was headed in the direction where the code was housed, perhaps it was off to find Odain. She then looked over towards Joy, "I find that hard to believe." There was a bright smile, "All creatures house beauty, if not in appearance in their propose of life. It may not be evident now, but I'm sure they'll show their beauty when they're ready." There was a soft hum as she stood up, "Now lets see where we can put these wind chimes aside from in the tree."
