Biting Chill ( 18 ) : The cold is strangely harsh, and even the still wind is vicious enough to sting. But the cold isn't the worst part of tonight--it's what comes with it. Out of a swirl of blowing snow, a massive, wispy wolf takes shape, enormous and snarling, with fur spiked like jagged icicles. Its eyes glow with a cold, wild intelligence, and before you can even react, it lunges as though you’ve trespassed deep into its territory. Every strike it makes feels like the bite of winter itself. Wherever its claws slash, wherever its jaws snap, frost cakes over. Even if you're lucky enough not to take massive damage, the cold seeps bone deep. When you manage to land a hit, the creature bleeds a strange, clear blood--icy water that freezes instantly into slush on the ground. The more damage it takes, the more its form flickers, shredded like wind-torn snow. The wolf fights with the relentless instinct of a dire beast, but it is not invulnerable. It will never run. It will fight until its body is broken and flickering, then--finally--a sudden gust will rip through the air and carry its dissolving body away. Howls echo on the wind. The rest of its pack probably isn't too far behind.
Note: This strange wolf is not a youma but can be used as a battle requirement for a character. It can only be used as a battle if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered to meet battle requirements. You can use the prompt for as many characters as you like and it will count as a battle requirement, however if you repeat the prompt with the same character, only the first time will be usable as a battle. "Would you stand still!" the irritated cry coming from a younger, more human-looking senshi, at least by comparison to his partner in this, his latest encounter with the wolf creature that seemed to come and go as it pleased, terrorizing whoever it happened upon whenever it decided to show up. "How are you even still moving like that?!"
Urda had the misfortune of walking through the park at exactly the wrong time, happening upon the other senshi's even worse misfortune of being chased by said wolf while trying to run on one good leg while the other didn't seem to want to bend at the moment. He wasn't sure if the wolf had iced it over with its bites or a different kind of magic, though he shoved the thought aside in favor of trying to aim properly.
"Stop! Zig-zagging! I might hit you instead and wind up as that thing's next meal!" Though before he finished saying it, he had already started making a run toward the senshi and his attacker.
"I'm not sure you understand what 'running away' is supposed to look like," the deep space senshi shot back, glaring daggers at the senshi (when he could afford to break his concentration from escaping to do it) who he had hoped would be his ticket out of this mess. Not for him to actually run away, but just give him enough time to gather himself, find something to lean on so he could stand up straight, and use a bit of his magic. With any luck he could send it careening into a nearby solid object and hopefully break it—it looked like it was made of ice or something, and its bites certainly felt like it was.
He couldn't really feel his leg, so he was dragging it around as fast as he could while the wolf stayed close at his heels, snapping at him whenever it saw what looked like a good opening to strike—like every other wobbly step on his bad leg.. How it hadn't caught up with yet, he had no idea, but he wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.
"Again!" he shouted. "I can't or I'll wind up as its next meal anyway!" Haik growled as he hobbled along. "Just do something! Anything!"
So he did.
Sensing Chaos signatures nearby, he immediately thought of his last encounter with this wolf and inwardly groaned because he had told himself he wouldn't do that again unless he absolutely had to. A need to buy a bit of time felt like it fell under "absolutely had to," so without any further thought on it he crashed right into the thing. A freezing cold immediately wrapped itself around his shoulder where he'd made impact, but the only indication that he felt it was the grimace and groan that immediately followed, but otherwise he shot off in the direction of the signatures.
The wolf, which had rolled and tumbled after Urda's currently retreating form, scrambled to its feet and gave chase, leaving a weird slush in its wake. Haik followed behind, gritting his teeth as pain shot up and down his leg with every step. He was already looking for a way to get a shot in without hitting anyone or anything besides the wolf.

Lameia might not have been too fond of winter, regardless of any magical boost against the chill her uniform (somehow??) gave her, but she did at least get to spend most of her patrolling routes hanging off of her walking heater of a cousin. Carnotite didn't get an option in this setup, something she often pointed out with a huff and a flick of her hair... but never a shock that would certainly be enough to send the Negaverse senshi moving back to her own personal space. It was the unspoken fact of their friendship... the fact it blatantly existed, and both had the exclusive privilege to harass the ever-loving hell out of the other. The Captain's uniform had a bit more covering than the senshi's, but her electrical nature kept her plenty warm. She didn't huff and shiver under a borrowed blanket-shawl like Lameia did, the latter grumbling about stupid uniforms beside the half-youma as they made their way along the quiet streets. Mostly quiet. Their heels snapped firmly against the parts of the sidewalk that wasn't covered by powdery snow and ginger over icy spots. Lameia gave another curse as the heavy winds tried to once again snatch her blanket, huddling it tighter around herself. "Why are you walking so freaking fast? Slow the hell down already, I'm gonna sli-- ....oh."The huffed and puffed complaints came to a swift and dower end when Lameia finally crossed whatever threshold it was that had barred her from sensing the energy signatures. Now that they were within range, though, she rolled her eyes, casting her cousin a dark look. The woman in turn only smiled, a sharp thing that looked no sweeter in the illumination of her lights. "Yes, oh. That. We've got some White Moon folks to greet." Lameia's nose wrinkled, and Carnotite could see enough of the less-than-delighted expression over her shoulder. "The energy signatures seem more on par with me, but I'm sure you can handle yourself," she tossed back sweetly, and her smile only grew to hear the disgruntled grumbles as they both picked up their pace to enter the park the energies were emanating from. Neither were roaming for the explicit purpose of picking a fight, though neither would object if anyone got fight-y... But ever since the whole... world-eating serpent from space deal, both had to recognize the usefulness of trying to find avenues for gathering intel from the White Moon lot. Carnotite perhaps a tad more leaning towards the Intelligence branch anyway... Whatever either had anticipated though for this encounter blinked out as they both realized the energies were coming towards them in turn. First, easy for either to assume it was someone coming to pick a fight... and seeing a young man racing towards them added to that assumption. Carnotite's smile became brittle as electricity crackled in the air around her, causing her hair to sway and billow beyond the influence of the wind. Lameia huffed and sent her blanket back into subspace, hands on her hips as she watched the incoming... but that wasn't just a senshi. Or two. "....is that a wolf?""...I think it's too big, isn't it? And icy."The cousins exchanged confused glances, both shrugging slightly as Lameia began to walk towards the incoming White Moon and... not so friendly looking elemental puppy. Carnotite, in turn, stepped forward-- --and with a concentration of energy, stepped out of a teleportation a fair bit behind the young man closest to them ( Urda). Electricity condensed in the air around her, her hair and clothing wild as lightning streaked from her hands in a pulse that lashed out six feet around her, aiming only for the strange icy wolf and not either senshi. Currently. "I hope that wasn't a friend of yours," she said oh so sweetly to the boy, though, tossing her words casually over her shoulder as she kept her attention between the three unknowns.

Urda, inwardly, pumped his fist into the air triumphantly when the agents stepped forward, one immediately taking the wolf's attention from him after teleporting between him and the wolf. He felt heat lash at the air behind him, and he shifted gears, making a point to avoid the other agent and circle back to get closer to the other senshi. He was squinting as he did, the light reflecting against the snow somewhat blinding him as he moved.
The wolf gave a mournful howl as it oozed slush from various places on its once solid, ice-like body. The spikes on its back had melted and blunted, shrinking it significantly, and though it was standing it looked...shaky at best. The beast snarled at its attacker, though for the moment it seemed to only stand its ground.
Another biting wind blew past the clearing, carrying with it a telling chill.
Haik froze in place and steadied himself, postured to strike as he braced himself against it. "Feels like more incoming!" he called out, not caring that the agents heard him as well. They could have attacked them instead of the wolf if they wanted, and they hadn't, so far as far as he was concerned they weren't a priority concern just now.
Urda didn't need telling twice, glaring at the weakened beast as he crouched down and called on his power. A shrub grew from beneath it, small and cramped but still quite fully enclosed around it, locking it in place for hopefully long enough that one of the others could get a solid, final hit against it to get rid of it before more showed up. He was just straightening up when he felt the chill gust just beside him, and felt the icy cold body of another great wolf closing in on him.
Basic — He summons a Blackthorn shrub by placing the palm of his hand on the ground while facing his intended target. The shrub rapidly grows around the intended target, trapping them from the waist and below. While inside the shrub, the target will experience the sensation of being pricked by little thorns for 25 seconds, after which the shrub withers away. It feels similar to the tingles that come when blood circulation is restored to a limb that’s fallen asleep. It’s possible to escape, though not without sustaining actual physical injury from the thorns in the shrub. The injuries would largely be minor, though if one is extra careless it could be a little bit worse than that. Can be used up to 3 times in battle.

More incoming? Lameia scowled heavily at that, already hating the extra chill in the air so close to this frigid beast. Ugh! All of this was totally way more of a buzz kill than she'd been anticipating... but watching one of the White Moon idiots attack the wolf made her pride prickle. And so, Lameia darted forward, racing her hands down her shoulders down her arms, an ethereal serpent coiling about her as she went, her speed immediately amping up as her magic took hold. The illusion seemed to strike out at the ice wolf as her fists and heels took quick, enhanced jabs at the thing locked up inside the brambles. By the time she pulled away, the thing let out a final howl to its companions before it shattered, and the corrupt herself began to curse and hiss as icy pain bloomed through her limbs. "Oh for fu--""You'll live," the Captain cut in smoothly, earning a heated glare from her cousin, but given the company they now held.... the senshi held her tongue, much to the approval (and gratitude) of Carnotite. Instead, she refocused on the other two senshi, flipping her pale locks over her shoulder with a small sigh. "Do you gentlemen need additional assistance with this pack? Or are you comfortable enough for us to take our leave?"Quote: Mamba's Strike: Speaking the name of her attack, Lameia runs her hands together from her shoulders down across the palms, the black coils of an ethereal black mamba appearing around her limbs as her hands move. When at last her hands separate, the full over six feet of the weightless, energy black mamba is visible curled over her arms and shoulders. For the 15 seconds that the ethereal black mamba remains on her body, Lameia's strength and speed are doubled, enabling her to match the speed and strength of a Captain. During this time, she can freely move and strike at opponents, with her opponents being able to see, hear, and even feel the black mamba as if the illusion were a real entity. The serpent cannot hurt anyone, only Lamiea's own fists, kicks, and other physical assaults are capable of hurting an opponent. Once the 15 seconds are up, the ethereal black mamba vanishes. Lameia can only use this magic 3 times per day.
