The Sealed Gate
Focusing her magic, her left hand glows red. Thrusting that hand forward, a barrier forms about an inch beyond where her hand is, shimmering in the air and giving anyone whom looks through it a warped, almost otherworldly glimpse, where strange creatures seem to move about in physics that cannot exist by our world's standards.

First stage attacks are fully blocked.
Second stage attacks have their damage halved.
Third stage and upward attacks are not affected.

The barrier itself is only as wide as her arm span and stands about six feet tall. While Morgan can move while channeling her barrier, and thus re-position the barrier, anyone who gets beyond the barrier can hit Morgan without issue. Morgan can only support the barrier for 30 seconds before it vanishes and her hand ceases its glow. She can only use this magic three times per day.

Biting Chill -- Holiday '25 Prompt

Winds whipping around the city weren't abnormal by any stretch of the imagination or word. Narrow alleys between buildings, courtyards positioned to allow for some semblance of outdoor gathering space, all forced air through constricted passages smaller than the avenues of streets that turned each and every one into wild wind tunnels. Morgan would have enjoyed it, the tugging at her layers and skirts, hair and feathers dancing in the air about her, if it weren't accompanied by such a chill. It tore any comfort right from her lungs, forcing icy pressure up her nose or through her mouth if she attempted to divert her face in any way to actually breathe normally.

That evening was no better than any other lately, but certainly had an edge of being far worse than most nights. Most nights, the magical protection of her uniform, coupled with a large wool shawl she otherwise kept in subspace and a pair of thick wool gloves, usually could help her fend off the worst of winter's bite. But not that night. No, it howled, tore at her, clawed her exposed skin and made her momentarily wonder if she had lost the degree of magical protection the guise of Morgan offered against the elements.

Blue eyes snapped up from the snow-covered courtyard she trekked through, buildings around her dark--shuttered up against the cold, offices empty in a mixture of the holiday season and the late nighttime hour. She could hear it through the growing winds. Something was actually howling. Her steps came to a momentary pause as she scanned the collection of stone benches, walkways, and shrubs, all covered in tarps and snow. A large fountain sat empty towards the center, a simple arrangement of various-sized blocks and rectangles. No water would be touching that system till everything stopped being a freeze risk.

Footsteps--heavy, solid, cracking through the snow and ice cover, but... something else to it..? Her ears strained against the wind under the cover of her hood, but she could hear extra cracking sounds. Like ice breaking and reforming all at once. It confused her until she saw ice growing atop the arrangement of blocks high above her in the center of the fountain. It was as if the winds themselves settled into a solid shape, coiled with snow and biting ice and a chilled glow. A wolf. A large wolf. It stood atop the fountain, white-blue eyes aglow and focused on her as its lips curled back in a renewed snarl that added to the spiked appearance of its dense coat--a mixture of fur and ice, she realized, as limited street lightning flickered and glinted off the piercing shapes.

It was beautiful to behold. Even if it was showing her every possible sign of hostility and warning. Morgan briefly wondered if she could just... back away from this creature, unsure if she was seeing some sort of... elemental, spirit, all of the above. It wasn't a youma, it didn't possess an aura of Chaos.

She did for a moment glance away, thinking she saw movement, an energy wisp that she'd been seeing about here and there, but the act was a mistake on her part. The wolf used the diversion to lung, Morgan barely managing to return her attention in time to register the beast flying through the air at her and actually respond.

But, she did.

Red energy crackled at her palm, and she slammed it upwards, her magic rippling outward into a shimmering shield. The creature crashed into it, all four paws slamming into its surface with a force that made Morgan lose her breath; her arms buckled under the weight, but she managed to hold the barrier up, forcing the creature to fling itself backwards.

Winter had very easily established itself as his second favorite season, the first being Summer—if only because that was when he arrived in Destiny City, and that was when it was best to spend any time at all in the waters here on Earth. He still could in the Winter, it didn't bother him as much as might bother humans, but the mixture of summer sun and cool water was, in his eyes, impossible to beat. What Winter had going for it were the lights and decorations, though, not to mention the festivities and celebrations and exchanging of gifts and extra time to spend with loved ones.

How long had it been since he had anyone around him to call a loved one? And now he had one! More than one, really, but one most certainly stood out against the others.

While there was a small part of him that believed that he had turned his back on his world, abandoned it in such a desperate state of need in favor of a planet that was teeming with life, he knew himself better than that. He loved his home and his people, though save for himself they were now no more, but given everything...he hardly thought anyone could blame him for taking his time. For indulging himself.

For temporarily, very knowingly and purposely losing himself in just the smallest bit of happiness that he managed to find.

Haik shivered violently against the chill wind that gusted past him as he meandered the streets, only lightly bundled up considering his uniform. "I'll figure things out eventually," he murmured to himself as he glanced in the direction of an Order signature that had crept onto his senses. His feet adjusted his trajectory automatically, and when he spotted them he had been about to lift a hand in greeting when he saw a large, icy something lunge at them.

He sprinted into action, covering the distance and coming to a skidding stop just a few feet from where she was able to repel the attack. Now standing adjacent to where she stood, he lifted a hand and focused, aiming carefully and willing his magic so he could catch the wolf in his current just as it landed. He jerked his hand left and watched with mild satisfaction as it was forced back, slamming into the building it had jumped down from.

Basic — Haik speaks the name of his attack and makes a sharp gesture with his hand, mimicking the direction of the current he wants his attack to follow (toward/away from him or to the left/right of him). Those standing within 15 feet directly ahead of him will feel themselves being suddenly pulled in the direction his hand mimicked for 15 seconds. It will feel as though they’ve been taken up into a strong current, and they will feel the sensation of being cold and having some difficulty in breathing for the duration of the attack. They are free to move and attack from within the current, though it might be difficult. It’s possible to be lifted out of the current, and one could actually move out of it if they happen to be near the edge. He can use this 3 times per battle.

More movement--for a split second, Morgan's eyes flashed to the side, a battle-born loathing for a perceived second opponent. Till she actually saw him, and registered the Order signature. Her hackles lowered exponentially, especially when he gestured and new magic flared. It ripped the wolf away, and Morgan lowered her aching shield arm somewhat.

"My magic can only shield." That was important info for him to know. The main thing someone else might need to consider how to best structure their attacks, depending on what they could do themselves. "Name's Morgan. Thanks," she tossed to him briefly, aware that pleasantries were not the top priority when a battle was on. If he didn't catch that part, she wouldn't be upset.

As it was, the wolf forced itself to its feet from where it had crashed against the building, shaking itself and ice cracking off of its form. But when it focused on them again, it snarled, the ice rising along with its fur along its back. Sharp teeth glittered in the streetlights, and the thing charged right for them again--though this time, it seemed to focus on the other senshi, not her.

"Haik," he tossed back just as briefly, his eyes still fully on the icy beast before them. Unfortunately for him, it was during his two most favorite seasons that these kinds of things came about. It didn't make them any less his favorite, but it did sometimes make for a good argument in favor of them. "And no problem. I just need my magic and a wall, and–"

He cut off, seeing the wolf come charging for him this time. He didn't have to think before he called on his magic again, though this time he pushed the current forward and maintained it for as long as he could. He stifled a laugh as he watched the wolf staying in the same spot despite its legs moving.

"That's new," he managed a chuckle, then glanced at Morgan. "But this is all my magic can do, push things around. What do you think? Should we run?"
