2025 Star Festival Prompt
The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn't be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it's incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it's just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there's something undeniably magical about it.

Sailor Sinope lay lounging on a rooftop during the meteor shower, watching hundreds of little multicolored lights dash across the sky as if they were in a hurry. Were they rushing to their loved ones? Or perhaps falling from the heavens? Who could say? There were so many thousands of stories about stars and star-crossed lovers.

But as he watched the beautiful light show, he thought of how starseeds were named 'star' seeds and how, like the stars and multicolored fireflies and glowing caterpillars that showed up around that time of year, they seemed to be as numerous and colorful as the stars. After all, each star represented a world. But it was nice to think that despite the many, many worlds out there, they all shared the same sky.

Holding up the Gold Star Charm he had found earlier to see it glint in the starlight, he thought about the Star Festival and the original story behind it. It made him smile to think that perhaps the stars Altair and Vega - the Cowheard and the Weaver girl separated by the Milky Way - would, according to legend, get to see each other that year. At least, he hoped they would.

Legend had it that the sky had to be clear and it wasn't raining, but did a meteor shower still count as clear? What could it have meant for the lovers? Were they others cheering them on, perhaps dancing at their reunion? Or was some greater disaster occurring in their celestial world? It would have been nice to know, but even if he did, it wasn't as if he would have been able to do anything about it anyway. Still, it fascinated him to think about.

NO IT'S GOOD! o3ob

Sailor Oumuamua had decided to power tonight. She still wasn't proud of misplacing her henshin pen in her desk drawer, but, she had not missed seeing her powers.... Explode. Everywhere. It was not leading to any pleasant analogies in her mind about her powers, but surely she'd figure this out eventually. Probably.

It was such a clear night, the meteor shower passing overhgead and Oumuamua looked up, analyzing the sky. A torrent of colors it could be, but she watched instead the almost cinematic streaking overhead and sighed. Scientists said it was chemicals in the meteoriyrs burning up, but she couldn't help an odd wornder what the sjky was actually doing. If she could teleport off to a magickal homeworld, anything was possible, really. After a few moments Oumuamua looked about, and leapot to her own rooftop - nopt payiung attention to any auras presently to look at the sky. She should've brought 0 and Oumuamua paused. She felt a strong aura, definitely stronger than hers, and paused, looking around cautiously. Oh no. She didn't want or need a fight with someone stronger than her right now, the odds were too high her magic would just explode again.

The 24-year-old Dark Mirror Senshi flinched when he sensed an Order senshi’s energy signature suddenly much too close for comfort. He had been so lost in thought, distracted by the star shower overhead that he hadn’t even seen or heard anyone coming. When he sat up to glance about, though, the other sailor scout seemed as nervous as he was – perhaps even more so as he realized her power level was lower than his. At least…he thought so. It seemed to fluctuate quite a bit, like one moment it would be pretty weak and then another it would be unusually strong. What was going on?

Due to the unpredictability of the energy reading, Sinope decided to try to play things cool and take things easy. If he acted calm and casual, perhaps they could avoid coming to any blows or involving any violence whatsoever. Smiling a little, he raised a hand from his place lying on the ground with a meek wave, pushing himself up into a sitting position in order to see his visitor better, but not getting up any more than that. He didn’t want to startle or scare her, after all, and she looked a bit jumpy.

“Good evening,” he greeted, leaning on one elbow and dipping his head politely. “Beautiful meteor shower, isn’t it? Did you come just to see the sights, or would you happen to be out on patrol? As you can see,” Sinope informed her, gesturing at his lazing, half-prone lower-half, “I’m just here to relax and enjoy myself. It’s easier and safer to come out like this and watch from the rooftops while powered up, though, don’t you think? Seems like you might have had the same idea.”

Oumuamua hadn't even seen Sinope there initially! And indeed she was jumpy. She was... More used to chaos being hostile. Aggr4essive. .... Well, technically? She was accustomed to corrupted senshi, and this senshi - he didn't have... voids or holes or - whatever they were on him.

Anbd that made her curious. He seemed friendly too. Oumuamua knew of friendly senshi for certain, even iuf she didn't meet many - which made her feel a bit more like an easy target - but this seemed.... Alright then. Oumuamua took a step towards Sinope curiously, noting a deistinct power difference, but since he seemed friendly, she didn't think it mattered -- then she positively lit up as he mentioned having the same idea and actually smiled cheerfully, a mix of relief and - delight on her face. Someone who got itg.

"Hey." POumuamua greeted. She waves cheerfully, managing not to bow out of family habit - and approached quite close, sitting down beside Sinope with a warm grin. "Actually yeah. I was planning to patrol but the meteor shower has me too distracted. The colors are absolutely fascinmating, dopn't you think?"

She was absolutely warming quickly = Pu,uamua really didn't want to pick a fight here and now. This one seemed quite friendly and she wanted to honestly think the best of someone else, not feel isolated and like the entire war was a cold, lonmely thing. Besides that she had no friends in Order yet that she felt close to if at all so - anyone was an improvement. Besides it wasn't like in her fdaily life she was a bloody saint and even she admitted it. And then she remembered to introduce herself and laughed shytly.

"I'm Sailor Oumuamua. It's nice to meet someone friendly for once." She nodded. She... Really hoped it was since. But a trap wouldn't remain comfortable, so she breathed, slowly. Right. This - this was good. Possible friends were good.

Pleased and relieved that the order being seemed to return his friendly sentiment, Sinope smiled when she sat down beside him and leaned back to prop himself up on his elbows. "Understandable," he said when she mentioned being too distracted by the meteor shower. "And they really are. I was just thinking about how amazing all those colors are. They seem as numerous as the colors of starseeds."

When the other senshi introduced herself and mentioned that it was nice to meet someone friendly 'for once', his thick brows rose in surprise as he looked at her. "Really? You haven't met a lot of friendly senshi?" he asked. "Not even from your own court?" He had always assumed Order senshi were a lot more close-knit and buddy-buddy with each other than Dark Mirror or corrupt senshi were, but then again, he still knew very little about the other court. "That's so sad. Are you...new to your court, if you don't mind me asking?"

Then he paused, realizing he had forgotten to introduce himself. "Oh, I'm Sailor Sinope, by the way. Dark Mirror Senshi of Slyness. Oumuamua is a cool name," he told her. "And I think it's nice to meet someone friendly for once, too. My power usually makes people wanna beat me up." The way he said the last sentence was with a huff of amusement and a self-depreciating laugh.

"Say...Oumuamua...do you know the story behind why the Star Festival is celebrated each year?"

I'm b., happy to continue actually! Always goot to build connections and RP even backdated. <3 I'd love to continue. Plus so far they're getting along in a good way.

"...I lost my pen three years technically... And... And well before that most encounters included fighting." Oumuamua sighed. She might've even fought with OIrder, she honestly did not remember. Instead she settled in beside Sinope with a relaxed, easy manner, calming as she motioned. "And meeting anyone is... I don't know. I'm kind of... Awkward, socially.,"

She listened though. She looked to Sinope with curiousity and snorted at his self-depreciating hjoke, but it wasn't cruel. .... She understood.

"Sklyness isn't always so bad. It can be used to benefit people you care about." Oumuamua shrugged. "And you don't shoose your sphere. It's like beating someone up for being short or something. Though my sphere is beer, and trust me. I stay away from frat houses." It was her own self-deporeciating quip. Beer - honestly - who became a senshi of beer. And then had their magic explode all over their fuku leaving them smelling of the stuff after a spell backfire?.... Right. Her. But Oumuamua settled.

?"The Star Festival? No. I always--" She coughed, going red. "I assume it's some romantic thing. I also watch too many romance anime but..." She cleared her throught, deep red now. For just a moment she fiudgeted, struggling not to have an awkard moment, and spluttered anyhow. "So what's the Star Festival story? sounds interesting!"

She smiled and instantly fgelt like a massive, well, nerd.

"Three years?" he repeated in surprised. "Wow. Well if it makes you feel any better, I was out of the game for almost seven years until just recently. I think the important thing is that we came back, isn't it?"

Sinope smiled sadly as his fellow senshi settled herself beside him. "I definitely understand the thing with most encounters being about fighting, though. Since I'm not a White Moon Senshi, many of the ones I would meet would usually end up thinking I'm with the Negaverse or some kind of enemy and want to fight. I wasn't much of a fighter back then, either, but I've had to learn since in order to adapt."

He gave her an encouraging grin when Oumuamua proclaimed herself as kind of socially awkward. "Yeah, I tend to talk too much myself. But at least our jobs as senshi don't really require us to be all that adept at being social. Still, really nice to have a friendly conversation like this with another powered being every now and then."

Listening as Oumuamua spoke on the topic of his sphere, he thought it was awfully kind of her to speak such comforting words to him and cast her a grateful look. The comment about staying away from frat houses earned a genuine, hearty laugh and he wondered in what way the young woman thought herself to be socially awkward. She seemed perfectly sociable to him. Friendly and kind, even, which was more than he could say for a lot of people.

"Beer, huh? That's a really interesting one! Mind me asking what your magic does?" he asked. "Or, if you want, we could have a little practice spar. My own magic's pretty harmless, even as a super senshi."

Sinope chuckled softly when Oumuamua coughed and turned red, her embarrassment contagious as he found his own face warm up and redden a bit, too. He quickly looked back up to the sky as he continued to explain, hoping she didn't really notice his reaction.

"Hehehe, so you like romance and romance anime? That's awesome! But yeah, you're right," he told her. "In Japan, the Star Festival is also called Tanabata. It's celebrated because legend has it that there was once a deity called Orihime, or 'the Weaving Princess'. she was the daughter of Tentei, or 'the Sky King'. Tentei loved the beautiful cloth that his daughter wove by the banks of the 'Heavenly River', the Amanogawa, but Orihime was sad because she was so busy weaving that she never had the chance to meet anyone else and became very lonely." The super senshi sat up a little more to speak better before continuing.

"Tentei worried for his daughter, so he arranged for her to meet Hikoboshi, which means 'Cowherd Star' or 'Boy Star', who lived and worked on the other side of the Amanogawa. As soon as Hikoboshi and Orihime met, they fell in love and married each other shortly after. Unfortunately, as they say, too much of anything is bad - even love and happiness."

He gestured grandly at the sky as he went on with his story. "Once the happy couple were married, Orihime and Hikoboshi were so busy spending time with one another that Orihime no longer wove beautiful cloth and Hikoboshi's cows wandered untended all across the heavens. Tentei became angry, so he separated the two lovers by keeping them on either side of the Amanogara and forbid them from meeting."

Sinope sighed dramatically. "Orihime was so distraught by the loss of her husband that she begged her father to be with Hikoboshi again. Moved by his daughter's tears, he told her he would allow the couple to be together one night every year - on the 7th day of the 7th month - if she continued to work hard and finished her weaving by that time."

His voice was low with tension as he held up a finger. It was clear Sinope enjoyed telling stories. "However, the river was still a problem. There was no bridge across the Heavenly River, so Orihime and Hikoboshi could not reach each other even on the one night they were allowed to meet. Orihime cried so much that a flock of magpies heard her and came to their aid by making a bridge with their wings for the couple to cross. The Star Festival celebrates the night every year when the lovers can reunite across the bridge of magpie wings."

Raising his index finger to the sky, Sinope pointed out the Milky Way. "The reason it's called the Star Festival is because the Milky Way Galaxy is the Heavenly River; the Amanogawa, and Orihime and Hikoboshi are each represented by the stars Vega and Altair, respectively. If it rains on Tanabata, it's said that the river rises so much that the magpies cannot come, so the star-crossed lovers can't meet and have to wait until the next year to try again. When that happens, the rain on the day of the Star Festival is called 'the tears of Orihime and Hikoboshi'."

(SAAAAAME.... ... I... I think Sinope just made Oumuamua's heart flutter. Oops? Not oops? Cute?... I mean it's fun either way. Thgey'll need to meet again for her first Super RP since she's got the art just no Super RP yet. >3>

"That's a good point." Oumuamua admitted, head tilkting in thought. She was quiet, head tilting, deep in thought. "Admittecly, I'm a little scatterbrained organizing."

But she also listened - attentively. She could... See his side. Perspectivewise, anyhow - Oum,uamua could understyand how White Moon Senshi might make the mistake. but.... A squint.

"I think I've duelled with some White Moon 00 I mean. Definitely some chaos but I don't look for a fight." It was rtaw honesty too. She didn't look for trouble. Oumuamua was relaxing. This was - nice.

"Talking matters. I admit I know fighting matters but..." She paused, nose wrinkling. Oh no, she was getting more mature with this magic thing. "Fighting doesn't need to be our first action either. "There's other stuff to put violent energy into. Or... You know... LARP. Or games./ Outlets."

She felt siully admitting it. But talking was nice and the company was nice. Oumuamua was just as happy to let him, genuinely enjoying the insight. She felt unsure a moment about if other senshi would understand... But... Maybe she could smack someone if needed. Violent? No. But also a low tolerance for needless cruelty.

"Beer? Well when it... It works I make a wall. It seems like something I can push magically or stay put, so I think the beer wall is meant to be defensive? Or the weall can push people away, I suppose. It kind of seems to overload and explode sometimes though." A sigh. "What about your magic? I bet it's more useful than you think!"

She smiled. Beamed even. It wasn't common for her to be so excited, it wasnt' when being a senshi was involved. Normally her experiences left her fairly upset with her own shortcomings, but this.... When she did feel able to just talk, to be herself? Was nice. Safe. Was it odd?.... Mayb e not. Oumuamua beamed, encouraging, even.

Everythiong stilled at the mention of the legend of Orihime. Oumuamua's eyes widened and her lips parted in awe. Partly, at his rather exceptional telling of the story. But also at the fact someone in this city outside her usual family circles or a few others knew it. Sure, she doubted she'd know it if she hadn't been adopted... But she had. Very young. Because her mother died and her father wasn't able to raise her. So she spent half her formatice years vacationing in Kyoto, spent her childhood learning two cultures, immersed and accepted as much as a foreigner raised in it might be. She grew up bilingual and now someone was telling a myth she loved and she loved most of them,,. Her heart was practically fluttering a moment as she murmured a moment. It wasn't entirely audible - it was in Japanese, and very shyly she inched closer.

"I didn't consider that the Star Festival was related. A lot of the States doin't know that myth." Oumuamua managed. She was wide eyes andsoft spoken a moment as she tried to not spill anything damning. She still had to protect her family. Even if Sinope was safe, he might not have friends she could trust. She wanted to talk about Kyoto and Japan and myths and festivals and-- she calmed herself.

"Where - where did you hear it?" She asked. No judgement... Astonishment. Wonder. "I... I apologize, I just.... I didn't even think of Orihime. I heard the myth, I just never considered that was the backing in Destiny City."

That was safe enough.

(( whee Awww!! Haha I know Sinope was definitely touched by her attempts to comfort him. Very cute. I'm curious to see where this goes~!

OOH, she's a super now?! Congratulations!! Can't wait to see/rp with her super senshi self!! heart ))

"You've fought senshi from your own court?" Sinope looked shocked. "Just like for a practice spar, or like outright fighting?"

He nodded when Oumuamua mentioned talking mattering. "Yeah, you're right. If only more people would attempt to listen to reason first and only resort to violence if absolutely necessary." Glancing toward her with a grin, the redhead asked, "You LARP and play games? What kind of games, if you don't mind me asking? I'm curious about your favorite anime, too."

His thick brows rose. "A wall? Wow, that's really neat! I never would have guessed. Sounds like it's pretty useful, too. Uh...besides to overloading and exploding part, maybe. I wonder what that's about." Perhaps it had something to do with how he sensed her energy signature was unstable and seemed to fluctuate in power. "Maybe...you just need more practice?"

It seemed the senshi of beer preferred to explain her magic rather than demonstrate it, so Sinope decided to do the same. "Mine are just plain annoying. My first senshi magic got me beaten up a whole lot because it made people mad and I'm a little afraid to use my super senshi magic because I'm willing to bet it'll just make them angrier." Then he sighed and leaned back, folding his arms behind his head.

"My first one makes people think I know the secret they least want me to know - even if I don't really know it. My super senshi magic makes them think that not only do I know that secret, but that I'm going to do something with it." He shrugged.

"I used to think they were the most useless powers ever unless I liked pain, but I think over the years I've realized it's meant to be a distraction to draw the attention and aggravation of enemies away from teammates and toward myself." Sinope's smile turned wry. "Too bad I usually just work alone. No teammates to distract enemies from. But if you can think of any other use for it, please let me know."

He liked her smile. The Dark Mirror Senshi was glad she had found reason to smile, too. It hadn't sounded like she'd had very good experiences being a White Moon one up until then. He hoped Oumuamua had better ones in the future.

When he told the story of the star-crossed lovers, Sinope was surprised at how attentive his fellow senshi was, having expected an eye-roll or a yawn instead. Even more interesting was the fact that it seemed she already knew the tale. He didn't know too many people who did despite the fact that the Star Festival was celebrated in Destiny City pretty much every year as far as he knew. Stories had always been near and dear to his heart, so he was incredibly pleased someone else seemed to love them as much as he did.

"Sorry - did you say something?" he asked when he thought he heard her mutter. If the words hadn't been meant for his ears to hear, he figured she could always just brush his question off.

"Yeah..." Sinope agreed when Oumuamua mentioned that a lot of the States didn't know the myth. "But you did? Mind me asking where you heard it before?"

It was funny because it seemed she had the same question to ask of him. He laughed. "I really love stories of all kinds from all over the world. I also love history and learning the reasons behind things, like why we have a Star Festival, so I asked around and was told the tale. Also, I have a friend who's Asian, so he teaches me a few things here and there."

Saaaaame~ AND.... No more maguc issues. She did her a late blooming senshi... She just has a support net building. Small one, Sinope absolutely helps. It's two of mine and one of the spouse's so far. Sailor Susanoo at least would be nice to Sinope now, he's mellowing as he gets used to the war

they... they need more RP after this, they're adorable oh no. At least now Oumyamya can help Sinope meet safe Order people if he needs it. One of the ones of mine she met was Susanoo... Who can also offer protective power and will if she asked, they're apparently deciding to be sibling-lijke friends in how the solos went. >.>

"If I'm honest? Didn't seem like a spar. I don't know if they just didn't like other order, or what." Oumuamua sighed slowly, head shaking.

"Any game!" Oumuamua lit up, growing more animated. She was excited. "Well let's see, right now I'm in a Dungeonmms and Dragons campaign on Sundays, Saturday ius for Old World of Darkness Vampire: The Masquerade, I've been playing some games on my Switch and OPC..." Oumuamua motioned thoughtfully. "I like a lot of games. Anime too. A lot of Shounen and Shoujo." She grinned.
"What kind do you like? I've been rewatching some older anime lately."

She considered his words carefully. She had no idea her power level was low to high, persistantly in flux, but thenm she glanced at Sinope thoughtfully.

"Maybe. Practice might be a good idea. I just hate that when I use it, if it explodes.. I mean the beer goes away that makes the wall but I also smell like a bloody college frat house after a kegger. It's so baaaad." Oumuamua groaned. Sure, it went away powering down and her fuku seemed magically clean nest power up, but.... It still offended her. Deeply.

And then he described his powers and Oumuamua looked uimpressed, then a little sad. More than a littler. A moment. Two, and then she hugged him tightly. She wasn't really a hugging sort often. She was actually awkward, a bit chaoptic but...

"You don't deserve to be harmed just for what your powers do." POumuamua affirmed. Screw his aura. He was a good person, in her mind, and he deserved better. "Well I'm not sure about a live situation but..."

She let go, leaning back thoughtfdully, brow furrowed.

"It's kiond of a pity you aren't able to workj with me... I think." Oumuamua admitted. "I mean You? You coulkd rile them up and if my magic was reliable I could hold them off. I mean. I. If you wanted!... If..." Oumuamua let go quickly, deep red now. Great, there she went, making an arse of herself, and she looked down quickly, expecting a polite seperation of ways in another awkward encounter. Another moment of over-enthyusuiastic exuberance turned into an socially difficult moment. Because in some ways they were all too common when once had a chaqotic streak. When one got too passionate, like right now. But... She didn't want Sinope beat up fopr his powers,m either. Not by her own court.

...Courts were dumb. She decided that on the spot.

"Ah, sorry..." Oumuamua was red again, motioning.

"I... I'm ahg... I was just suirprised. I..." She was looking for a safe wasy to explain.

"Half of my life hjust about... I grew up in Japan. I... I'm fluent in Japanese and was exposed to the culture. A lot of it. I didn't attend school but.." She was deeper red now. They were details she could not give him, of course. "But when I was little, I learned the story of Orihime, and others. Like the boy in the peach..." She was deeper red now, looking down. She wasn't sure why she felt so - so - flustered!

((Oooh, yaaayyyyy!! How awesome! And I’m so glad to hear that! ^_^ Ohh, I see!

Yes indeeed~ I very much look forward to another! And that would be very kind of Oumuamua to introduce Sinope! Especially if it’s to Susanoo since he loves that Japanese god and the Tengu since they’re tricksters! I do really need to have just one more battle for Sinope in order for him to reach his eternal stage, actually, so any sparring or anything like that would be fantastic! Only if you feel like it, though!))

”That’s crazy,” the Dark Mirror Senshi commented in amazement. “I didn’t think any White Moon Senshi would do such a thing, but I guess it takes all kinds even within an order court. I’m sorry you were subjected to that, though. That’s awful.” He wondered what in the world could have possessed them to turn on one of their own.

He grinned more broadly as the other senshi lit up talking about games. So that was what she seemed to be passionate about. He found that intelligent people loved to play games, so he thought that was a pretty cool passion and hobby of hers. “Wow, busy, busy! You really do play all sorts of games, don’t you? Tabletop, console…very cool. Don’t think I’ve heard of what OPC stands for, though. What’s that?”

Nodding at the mention of anime and enjoying both shoujo and shounen, he chuckled as he answered, “I like the psychological ones best, I think. Ever heard of Durarara!!? Or Kiznaiver or Mekakucity Actors? They’re kind of obscure, but I tend to enjoy those more than the mainstream ones. How about you?”

Again she referred to her magic exploding and it really made him wonder what she was talking about. Was it just an explosion of beer due to the nature and properties of the beverage? Or did it have to do with something else like how her energy signature fluctuated in power? Perhaps she herself didn’t know and that’s why she was so distressed about it. Well, it wasn’t like he wanted to make her more uncomfortable by pushing the topic, so he said, “I understand. If you don’t feel comfortable using it, you don’t have to. Especially if you want to avoid smelling like beer.”

When he caught Oumuamua looked at him sadly after he described his magic, he was surprised. Not as surprised, however, as he became when she gave him a tight hug.

Immediately, his body temperature skyrocketed and his complexion went almost as red as his hair. He had been attacked often in his time as a senshi. He’d even been frequently grabbed by his collar and shoved up against many walls. What he didn’t remember happening much, if ever, though, was being shown affection; not even through something as simple as a hug. There might have been once or twice it had happened back when a Dark Mirror Senshi woman had taken him in as a civilian, but that was in the past. Since then, Sinope had come to the conclusion that anyone who considered him worth showing affection to was mistaken.

He didn’t deserve it. He wasn’t a good person.

Good people didn’t end up getting their parents murdered.

Not that Oumuamua knew what he’d done. And he was reluctant to tell her. But if she was going to treat him with such kindness, didn’t she deserve to know the truth? That she was wasting said kindness on someone who didn’t deserve it?

“Thank you,” he told her with a sad smile when she told him he didn’t deserve to be harmed just for what his powers did. “There are other things I’ve done, though, that I think make me deserving enough.”

He laughed softly when she said it was a pity he wasn’t able to work with her. In some ways, he agreed. It would have been nice to work with her. But in other ways, he believed it was for the best that he couldn’t. “In all honesty, I think I’d probably make a pretty terrible teammate,” he told her sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck as he continued to blush. “I’m…touched that you would even want to work with me, though. I think it’d be pretty awesome to work with you, too. I just…don’t think it’d be fair to you because you’d be doing most of the work.” And what if he failed to distract an enemy from her? He’d have never been able to forgive himself if she got hurt because of him.

When he raised his head slightly to peek at the White Moon Senshi’s face, he found that she, too, appeared to be blushing pretty hard. That brought an involuntary smile to his face. At least he knew he wasn’t the only one feeling flustered and nervous with a heartbeat racing a mile a minute. But he wanted her to know he didn’t mind it. That he appreciated it, even.

“…You…seem like a really sincere person, you know that?” Sinope told her with a shy smile. “It’s a shame more people aren’t as honest and genuine as you are. But that takes bravery most people don’t have. It’s really cool that you do.” He reached out to try to put a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Please don’t be sorry for it.”

Removing his hand then, he listened to her tell him that she’d grown up in Japan and his thick brows rose with interest. “Really? Wow, that’s really amazing!” he exclaimed, genuinely impressed. “So you know the stories like about Princess Kaguya and the Bamboo Cutter? Oh, the boy in the peach! Momotaro, right? And you know about the Monkey King?”

Just like Jack seemed to have stumbled upon Oumuamua’s passion for games, she seemed to have uncovered his love of stories.

Susanoo likes learning about Japan himself, right now he's living with Oumuamua because his twin brother finally provoked him. HHe'd not mind a fight or sparring match though! He's pretty relaxed, and keeps offering to teach or help[ people get better fighting in general... He grew up rough housing and wrestling and fighting. ... And he needs 3 regs/battles before I can driopo the items to grow him. >_> Oumuamua's adoptive family half raised her in Kyoto around extended family. She's taking Susanoot o Kyoto on his next break... Also as amusing as i OPC was a typo. I'm absolutely roilling with it, why not. XD I can see someone using OPC for... Old PC games.

Also, one day, Sinope needs to meet Susanoo's cousin Sailor Dubhe. She's in the "My parents were muirdered" club. Her mom by her mom's huisband when she was baby, her Dad by aq youma.

"...Thanks." She smiled. Weak. Shy. "Hioopefully at some point - some point I don't have to deal with it again. I haven't - tried intentionally seeking other people on my side out after. Mostly just... Caution. And I'm..." A pause. "A little... QAwkward with people sometimes." But sinope was easy to talk to. Safe, comfortable and it was written on her face. Sinnope was... Far from any kind of awkward. And it was nice.

"OP?C? Old PC games." Oumuamua noted. "From GoG and stuff. Newer games too. Or rereleases. But older games can be fascinating when you account for technicakl limitations--" A pause. She turned red. "Sorry. I can... Go on a while." This was why her civilian side worked Geek Squad. She could mend most ccomputers, and thre only reason she didn't worek IT for her father was... Well... Siv was trying to work on personal computers... And maybe she'd enjoy upgrading the RAM or other parts from time to time.

Oumuamua coinsidered his words, eyes closing a moment in deep thought before she spoke. She'd never considered not using her magic, not really. It was an idea... And one with value. A lot of it.

"I... Never cconsidered that option." Oumuamua admitted, blinking. "It just never occured to me. I always thought I HAD to use it."

But using skills from LARP or getting into a fighting-oriented hobby might be wise. ... Or more oir less it might help. The Negaverse had weapons. Magic didn't blunt weapon edges, even if she made a wall if her power felt generous. Maybe a physical fight would be beneficial.

"Done?" Ouamuamua tilted her head. It seemed important to Sionope she know he did thinhgs, and Oumuamnua listened attentively, green eyes loicked as her head tilted curiously.

She listened, of course. She was listening raptly, and his comment he'd make a terrible teammate... She reminded herself to r4espect his choice, but she was... Disappointed. Just a little. He seemed to he'd make good company and... She wanted that company. She already wasn't sure where she fit in on all of this. Nobody trained her, nobody tauight her. Her entire powered experience was boiled down to trial and error. And screw the cat whom awakened her anyhow.

"If you say so." She said, quietly. She vcarefully masked disappointment in ccalm. "But I'd still like to talk to you again!

"Sincere?" Siv paused. "I guiess? Normally I'm called - you know. Overenthusiastic. Awkward. Nerdy. Too open." Oumuamua pursed her lips. "I mean I'm not perfedct. I'm terrible a lot at social situations. I don't even know how to talk to p[eople." Oumuamua was silent, seeming to compile her thoughts. Several emotions crossed her face. Frustration. Resignation. Anhger. Weariness. Sadness. Acceptance - or perhaps another bout of resignation.

"I don't always think like I should. Or respond 'correctly'. Sometoimes I understand my interests better than people. It's... It's well... Kind oif difficult sometimes I guess." Oumuamua was quyiet, watcxhing the meteor shower. silent. How did you tell someone you were convinced you were broken? That you were, well...

Born wrong, or so it felt a lot.

"Momotaro, yes! And Kaguya! Oh Kaguya makes me so sad..." Oumuamua lamented, she was animated again, especially at the mention of the Monkey King.

"Ah! Journey to the West! Yes yes yes I READ that! It's such a good story! It's just so good to read as a whole, I can't reccomend it enough, even if it's a transdlation in English!" Oumuamua lit up, eyes dancing again. Personally I find it fascinating how Sun Wukong inspired Dragon Ball's series, personally." Oumuamua grinned. "His story leading into the resyt is so amazing for a prologue, considering how much fighting he has to do in the rest of the story too, and it helps explain all of his skills and connections. Oh,m you have read it I assume? I know Sun Wukong's part is pretty common a tale, but the rest of the book is great, there's a useful series online breaking it down by adventure right now I'm enjoying, I just wish the book was more readily availible in the west..."

She really did love Journey to the West., Oumuamua might not realize their passions were both shatred, but... Siv would never complaoin. Not once.
