Thinking on that note as she wandered, the Saturn knight had mentioned a sibling that had a wonder from another world. The details were fuzzy for her, not something she’d deemed important enough to remember but if they were like Aaru it would be a mixed experience. They were a good acquaintance, maybe someone she might deem a friend, but sometimes they said things that reminded her of Rene and that was something that made her prickle with anger. It was always under the surface because, try as she might, she hadn’t found an opportunity or solution to the problem.
When she felt another page, she wasn’t worried. Honestly, very little worried her when it came to being out and about. She hadn’t run into the same problem senshi again so everything was healing up without too much trouble. What was a surprise was the slight resemblance she thought she saw in the fellow that was up ahead. They seemed preoccupied so she coughed slightly to let them know she was there before getting too close, just in case they were jumpy.

Sometimes he wondered why his brother wanted to voulentell him to do things. Not even Cassius does that… However, Damien agreed to meet the squire that he finds pretty cool and scary, stopping by the meeting place with a look around. He felt the signature and was about to turn around when she coughed. He didn't startle or anything, just calmly looked at the woman before him. Damn…He wouldn't be lying if he said she was…Definitely not built like his wife.
But instead of being stupid and commenting on something that is usually a touchy subject for most men and women alike, he simply held out his hand for her to shake if she wanted. “You must be Spasskaya right? I am Halicarnassus. That dumb a** little brother of mine wanted me to meet you?” He tilted his head in question. Maybe it was just so she could have more allies and vice versa. He never really knew what Aaru was ever up to in that brain of his.
Taking the offered hand, she shook it firmly once as she looked over the man, picking up on more the of the similarity she assumed were familial at this point. It was funny to hear that Aaru was the little brother but she couldn’t agree or deny the fact that the other man was a dumbass. Certainly, he’d said things that made her think it but then again a lot of people said dumb s**t and she just judged them silently with her eyes most times.
“He said it would be good to meet you to get a bit of help with fighting.” Not that she would openly admit that she was bad at it, even if she’d gotten in over her head more than a few times now. “So you’re not all skulls and purples? I thought being brothers you’d have the same sort of thing going on?” She was not quite trying to be offensive but just letting her curiosity speak for itself as she leaned on her staff. It was a nice upgrade in her opinion, on top of its use for fighting, but also because she felt it looked a little more put together and less random than carrying around a pendulum.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Ah. Yeah, we might be brothers but I think lineage works differently. I'm putting it on the fact that we have different mothers.” To be honest, he doesn't quite know why he is a Castor knight vs becoming a saturn knight but maybe that was something he could ask the code? Or even Shang? Because Vimi is a Venus knight and they share the same parents. Would be something interesting to look into…Later.
“My adopted younger brother is a castor knight. Think our ancestors were blood brothers.”
Yep, definitely something he could look into later.
“Fighting is something I can help with, yeah. I heard you might have fought the same big guy I did huh? He's not so tough when you have his girl involved. That might be lesson one, take advantage of all weaknesses no matter what they are.” He wasn't going to tell her just HOW he got the big guy to stop messing with Sarin, she didn't need to know that, he had a feeling she would be upset somehow but she will soon come to learn that it did not matter if you were feminine or masculine, he was still going to beat your a** no matter what.
“Why don't you tell me about all the experiences you’ve had and I can see about giving pointers then?”
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While part of it made sense, she still wasn’t too sure of everything. Not that it would matter much for her own family, being an only child and all.
The mention of other types of knights didn’t mean much to her, not without having something to connect the words too. They were just names without faces, not particularly useful right now in her opinion.
“Ancestors?” That was something different, something new, and it gave her a thought. “I… well. Hrm.” Muttering a few confused words in Russian as she considered if this would sound crazy or not.
“It’s like I’ve been there before, flashes of the past. One of them sent me almost tumbling down some stairs, it just hit me while I was exploring. I feel like I sleepwalk through sometimes and I always end up where I need to be to find or do something.” It was annoying at first but the confusion was overshadowing it as more things popped up.
“I’ve fought a few big guys, one of them didn’t take kindly to my kick in their jewels.” A cold little smile crossed her face and she shifted with her staff. “The other one was a bit much to handle alone, your brother came and helped. “Quite the mouth he has, riled the lummox up really well.”
Sighing, she grumbled and gestured to herself. “Unfortunately ice skating leaves much to be desired for fighting awareness and aggravatingly most of the assholes I’ve dealt with were walls of meat with no brains.”
——————————-
“Well, I might disappoint ya, I'm another wall of meat. Brains are a bit scrambled from too many hits to the head but surprisingly I still function.” or at least he seemed to think he was okay. Nothing worth noting needing a doctor for anyway. “A kick to the jewels usually works for any sized man, unless their balls haven't dropped yet.” Either way, he was sure he could teach the small woman a thing or two about self defense. He didn't hold back though so he was hoping she didn't need the kid gloves or anything.
“Yeah, Aaru is good at running his mouth when he needs to. At least he knows how to shut it now as well.” The memories thing was a b***h to deal with alone but he figured her knighthood might be different from his. “So you have memories you go through? Aaru has a ghost he can talk to or some s**t like that. I haven't been to my wonder no more than once so I'm not sure what I have. There was no one there, but I don't have memories like you do either. You don't have a ghost that appears?” He wasn't the best person to talk to about this kind of stuff, shang would be better.
Sighing again, albeit slightly more tired-sounding, she gave them a look that left no room for doubt that she had a poor opinion of them already. But still Aaru had recommended them, so if they weren’t good for conversation, then she guessed you didn’t need to have an unscrambled brain to fight.
“True, it worked well even with them holding me. Might work better now that there’s more heel to my boots.” Looking down at she adjusted her stance; her outfit’s boots had gone from booties to full-on heeled boots. The little pockets were handy, she figured, but not having to worry about losing a shoe while running was a better upgrade in her opinion.
Raising her eyebrow at the mention of ghosts, she crossed her arms. Her first reaction would have been to question if the hits to their head caused them to see ghosts that weren't really there, but those memories she walked through were no less crazy sounding. “No Casper, not that I can tell. And I go there as often as I can, the clockwork needs more repairs, and I keep finding more and more each time I go.” It wasn’t a surprise if the place was as old as it was supposed to be, but she had a list that had been steadily growing to the point she figured it would take a lot more time than she initially figured it might take to fix things.
—--------------------------------------------
He gave the small page a smirk at the heels comment, nodding in agreement. When she mentioned that she didn't have a ghost, Hali huffed. “Maybe you're more like the others? Reincarnation or some s**t like that? Might be worth asking a more seasoned knight questions like that since I'm still learning myself. Think Aaru mentioned that you might need help with your wonder as well? Cleaning up and all that s**t? I can at least help with that and drag Aaru with me if you still need it.” He was indeed curious about the other wonders out there and this could be a good chance to see what one in need of repairs would look like.
It might even inspire him to go check out his wonder more often as well.
—--------------------------------------------
Smiling as something intelligent came out, she nodded. “Yes, there’s a lot of broken stone and brick that’s all over. I’ve gotten some of the floor fixed but getting the arch and door fixed needs someone… with a bit more height than I have.” She wasn’t short by any means, but some of the things were still out of her reach for repairs, and with the rubble and uneven ground, she couldn’t really use a stool or ladder easily.
“Good, good, I’d appreciate that. Maybe after that, then I can get the clock working again somehow.” But she needed to look more into things and find a way to fix the stairs heading down towards the lower floors of her clock tower. Another few doors that were damaged and needed to be fixed or just removed entirely. It was a pain, but if she had a few more muscle heads to help, then that would leave the more intricate and detailed work for her to focus on, and she didn’t mind that one bit.
“Might be good to reach out occasionally, I can help with some things that might need a more… delicate touch on your wonder?” Looking them up and down again, she laughed slightly. “I’m usually at my shop, I live in the space above it. It might not be a surprise, but I’m a watchmaker.” It felt fitting that she ended up with a clock tower to watch over and repair, something that gave her a pleasant challenge and way to expand her skills and creativity when it came to the machinery there.
