Ultear 1
It was blisteringly cold, most unusual for this time of year, time to check on the family. There would be a lot of beasties on the ranch that needed extra care, not all of them were rated for this chilly weather, he certainly wasn't despite the healthy dose of iceling blood from his mom. She had said that layers were key to cold but he had no layers of anything, clothing or fat he was beach fit and freezing at the moment. He arrived at his cousins place and banged on the small beach cabin door. This was Ushiruin's answer to living in the big house with all the rest of the noisey lot that called it home.
Ultear had a similar cabin at his father's place for just such a reason. He helped where he could and otherwise tried to stay out of his mother's way or she would find other things for him to do. He really ought to find his own place at one point a bit further down the beach so to speak, maybe that would be his goal for this year.

Ushiruin 1
He had just rolled out of bed in his skivvies when he heard someone pounding insistantly at the door. "I'm coming, I'm coming." He mumbled as he shuffled his feet toward the sound and the doorway. "Hold your Zanteer I'm coming!" He flung open the door to reveal his cousin Ultear...his favorite person and a blast of arctic air that made the hair on his arms and legs stand up. "Sweet gods, come in, keep that unholy chill out though, what the hell." He looked at Ultear once he was inside. "We are uh, still in Matori right? One of my tentacle creatures didn't magically transport us to another demension yeah?" That might be a bit hard to explain, he would need his sisters book for it.
Cousin shook his head at least at that query. Ushiruin got the coffee started and soon they were bundled up in blankets in the kitchen, chatting. "I see why you came by today, do the naturefolk say anything about the weather?"
