Tama stood at the door. It might as well had been a gateway to his former life. But instead it was the doorway to a small shop called the Nekosuke.
A man answered and they both knew in their hearts what they saw — a Mauvian he thought he’d never see again and the boy from his shattered memories.
“I thought I’d never see you again.”
Another thought crossed his lips but did not sound. Where were you? No… who were you now?
It did not take them long to get caught up given the girl who showed up from upstairs at the sounds.
Tama. Erytheia. Urania.
United once again in this life.
“We must meet with Yuki… he’s been waiting even longer for this moment.”
Swept into space.
“Yuki…”
The ghost stood still for a moment and just stared. Stared at the Mauvian he hadn’t seen in a thousand years. Stared at his love.
“But you can’t remember, of course.” The man said as he embraced Tama — an embrace with the touch of the wind and nothing more. The man was physical no more. “You were once mine and it was my final wish to see you once again.”
I never knew how far my past had gone. Tama thought with whimsy. These people here were family like he had never known. No. Like he had found with the Negaverse team and Faustite.
“But you have changed.” Yuki referred to the corruption. “Are you happy?”
Tama thought at the curious question.
“Yes.”
Erytheia knew then and there that purification would not happen. Urania ventured not the thought as she knew the past could never come again.
“With that, I can now go in peace.”
The Cosmos knight knew this was his cue to say goodbye and perform the ritual.
Yuki’s starseed was so pretty as it glimmered in the light.
All three stood and said goodbye… to one another, and to the past that might have been.
