This night was a bit different, tonight Kafka was alone as he wandered and drained. He'd meet his quota tonight and if he came across any trouble he knew he could just get out of it if he needed to. If he could manage it himself, without Kayua hiding his signature or Alexandre swooping in to neutralize the threat, then it would be a win that would make him feel a bit better about all this.
It had been going well now that he didn't have to touch those he drained and could keep a bit more distance and coverage if needed. Draining from behind a corner or hidden in a crowd, either way, it made things go faster and he'd gotten better at focusing on the action while keeping a sense out for any non-chaos signatures. There were a few ones that felt a bit close but nothing his rank, at least he thought. It was still something he was getting the hang of and he knew Alexandre and Katya were better at figuring it out.
Leaning against the cold brick of the alley he paused in, he pulled out that hydro flask of his from subspace and drank from it. The wine was nice and chilled still just as it always was. He swore by this bottle, it was the best thing he'd gotten in the US and it kept his wine just perfect while he was out and about. It also worked as a perfect disguise because most assumed he was sipping water and not alcohol.
Brushing the long bangs out of his face, he wandered a bit more and drained another person from around the corner. Taking energy until he heard the inevitable thud as they slumped and slid to the ground. One of those order signatures seemed to be drawing nearer so he pulled out the knife from his subspace to cute some of that too-long hair off. It might give him a bit of time to get away but the main thing is there wouldn't be as much for any enemy to grab. He'd learned that the hard way in a practice spar with Alexandre and he wasn't looking to have his neck snapped by a senshi tugging that long brown hair he was cursed with while powered up.
That done, he sent the knife away and carefully dipped around the corner and over the unconscious man he'd drained before finding his way down another alley he knew wouldn't lead to a dead end this time. He wasn't looking to get trapped again either and each time something went wrong he was working on avoiding meeting the same end again.
