This came to my attention when someone was banned for sending a trade to one of their mules. Be careful.

Oh my, I send trades to mine all the time. How scary

It is scary. And I have also. And so do many people. I am not sure how they make a decision on who to ban and under what circumstances. . But I saw a post about it today when I went to play your contest. Since reading someone was banned for it I thought I should post this so everyone knows about this.

Luckily, I don't have mules. But it's still good to be aware of this.
As if Gaia needed stricter rules and regulations. There's hardly any users left active on it and they gotta make it less appealing by constantly adding new rules and changing things. I'm worried it's gonna turn people away.
i have two mules but i dont send them stuff anymore .. i will be extra careful with them

I think it will turn people away. I do have a couple of mules and have sent plat to the guild mule of mine. I do not understand why they needed more rules on a site that has lost so many people. Too me it would be logic to make the place more appealing not less appealing.

I think you're right. It's not exactly a crime to send gold or items to other accounts. It doesn't really hurt anyone. Like, unless you're going out of your way to do something bad with it, then I don't think it should even be punishable.
After all, there are b/c shops that have mules and they need certain items to dress the avatar to look like the shop's main character or owner. Things like that. I know right? It's like they're trying to make people leave or don't care about keeping the current few that are still here. Ruffling our feathers, brushing our fur up the wrong way.
Gaia's dying. It's glaringly obvious. Not to mention that the userbase has greatly changed since people who joined when they were younger have grown up but still love the site. I wish they'd make a restricted section of the site for people who are 18+ and actually acknowledge their mature audiences... and block minors to having the normal PG13 access. Then everyone can enjoy it.
As it is, people find it easier just to go to Discord rather than strictly ahere to Gaia's many rules. They have more freedom over there, even though there aren't nice and customisable forums and threads with numbered pages on the chat platform. I'm mainly here for the mini shops, rps and b/c shops.

i am so grateful for Gaia and all the wonderful friends I have made through Gaia. I do not want it to go away. I much prefer Gaia over discord because I like the pages better here, I like our avi's, I like doing auctions and love creating the contest here for the guild.
If they wanted to divide it into sections that would be good. But I am of course over 18 but have no desire for an area for more mature people. I am still a big kid at heart and prefer the less mature I guess. lol
But for others I think it would be a great move.

I dm'd an user that got banned due that new rule. She told me they usually ban you when you do a big "harvest" of all your accounts into one. But I suspect it is because these big transactions are the ones that are noticed in their radars.
I asked an Omni Mod about it. This is a quote from Mod Leaf:
Quote:
All rules that apply to your main account also apply to your mules and you can't use mules to try and circumvent any restrictions on your main account. So, for example, you're allowed to collect plat/gold on mule accounts and keep that gold on those accounts, but you are not allowed to use your mules to get around the gold/plat earnings caps by earning extra gold/plat on your mules and sending it to your main account. Another example would be that if someone blocks you on your main account, you can't use your mule to contact them and get around that block. You are also not allowed to use your mules to try and avoid the consequences of a ban, so for example sending all your nice items to a mule before you break the rules on your main account in the hope of keeping your items, or another example would be breaking the rules on your mule to try and avoid your main account getting banned (in both cases, all of your accounts would be looked at as a whole).
Besides diminishing activity in the site and dissapointing mule users it adds a load of work on the shoulders of the admins and moderators.
I want to discuss these problems in these Ask the Staff threads. If you guys could do that as well we may be heard.

Oh yeah, I am too. I feel the same way. I just really miss what it used to be like before. Most of the guilds I'm in these days are so quiet or not active, and it's the same with rp forum. It's just so empty.
I agree with you on liking the pages, avis and contests. Those are a lot of fun. Yeah, I know it's been suggested in the past to divide it into sections but for a bunch of reasons, they decided not to do it. Anyway, maybe that wouldn't be as helpful as it sounds. I really hope they bring back all the Flash features soon by updating them into more modern formats.

Oh okay. I guess they're just trying to keep it fair for everyone and that sort of thing. After all, the site started its decline due to users being flooded with gold from gold generators. I suppose funneling multiple accounts into one account would cause inflation problems in that regard. But for people just wanting to share items and stuff between mules, it seems a little harsh on those.
Thanks for sharing what the mods said. That does make it a bit clearer on why they have them and what for. I can see why it's a rule they have.
Yeah, there are always people who try to game the system and do the wrong things, getting everyone else in trouble along with them. I guess you find those anywhere you go. I'd say Gaia's barely a shade of what it once was in terms of things to do and activity though.
Taking questions and matters to Ask the Staff is a good idea.

Yeah, just to be clear they are trying to soften the inflation but since it's been a problem for years it feels like throwing a glass of water on a fire.
I think it punishes activity, however you can do normal trades between your main and mules if it doesn't break certain market cap (I ignore how much is it)

That one CEO and his assistant sure left a hell of a mess for Lanzer and the others to clean up. But it's good that they're trying. Hopefully it'll turn things around eventually and the site will get more active again.
I can't find people with similar interests to do rps with here anymore, so I go read the oldschool ones and the nostalgia is so strong it makes me sad. I just wanna go back in time.

Mostly fandom rps like from Undertale and its AUs, Homestuck, Momma CQ...and these days, usually with ABDL content. I also like fantasy, families, orphanages, preggy rps, daycares, that kinda stuff.
Yeah, I was in like 20+ rps at one point and it was all too much for me so I've cut back a lot. I'm down to about 6-7 now.
