Is it me or does it feel exceedingly difficult to find other Christians on GaiaOnline?
I guess I can't expect much with a website called GaiaOnline, but it seems like there used to be many more than there are these days. I frequent the forums and the great majority out there seem to be atheists that are hell bent on a mission to discredit a God that they don't believe in.
Boy, it's hard spreading the gospel sometimes.
How have you all been out there? Do any of you frequent the GaiaOnline forums or have you stopped doing so?

I frequent forums but thats because I'm kinda used to being mocked for my faith at this point. So it bounces off me. Its recently though made me wonder if Calvinism had it figured out. Augustine talked about the same thing long before Calvin. So like while I'll gladly spread the word, I also realize most peoples hearts are hard. Also they aren't real atheists, I know when I was an atheist I said it basically as a declaration that I was an enemy to God. But a true atheist would just think its all hokey nonsense and just continue their conversation rather than belittle you. The sad thing is a lot of atheists are unwitting ministers of Satan. Its kinda sad really.

Its kinda sad really. I guess the atheist or non-atheist thing begs a lot of questions in the regard to - do atheists even exist? Most are agnostics or they're blatantly worshiping something else or trying to ignore moral accountability. I remember that viral church sign that went around the net years ago, "God doesn't believe in atheists." I think that brings up a lot of good points. People use faith whether they know it or not - it isn't always faith in God, but other things like..."See you tomorrow." There's a lot of faith in that statement. Who is to say you will be alive in the morning or that the world won't fall into chaos or something? It baffles me how people don't believe in God, whom they can't directly see, and ask for a sign yet they will believe in the air we breathe that we can't see with the naked eye, yet mindlessly rely on it to keep us alive. It is definitely sad. Basically these days, post anything in the forum about Christianity, you'll get a bunch of non-believers hopping on you. It gets old after a while xd I know what I believe and I am not going to be shaken. It's kind of annoying, though, when a post asks for an opinion and if they don't like you're opinion they basically like to try and serve you up on a silver platter. But I guess sometimes, it's a good witness to them to, and if they choose to continue to ignore God and the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for them then that will be their choice.

The Lord said we would be hated, but God loves us. And I get you, people like me who talk abouth faith get it coming and going. Haters on one side, anti catholic sentiment on the other. But who cares what these kids say, it'll get through to them sooner or layer. You need hardship and maturity to grasp The Message. Most here are young idyllic adults that have never had a hard day in their life.
Side to that this site is literally Sodom sometimes.

I won't lie it makes me want to turn away from the platform just because there feels like at times there is very little for me on here. I enjoy the few conversations I find. I did meet a few cool people and one incredible friend on here within the past year though and that's what keeps me coming back. The "Lot's" of Gaia so to speak in keeping with the Sodom reference lol. But seriously its nice to come on here and see some decent conversation going on about the scriptures. I think that over time gaia became both ultra secular and ultra liberal over time. Which has only made it a more hostile place than it was circa 2006 if I'm being totally honest. Some of the stuff people say to each other on here was just not happening back in my day. Its wild to have gotten so old and come back, and see how things trended downward in some directions.

By contrast I find hundreds and hundreds of Christian lives on tiktok ranging from a few hundred to a couple thousand viewers. So I guess its also about where you cast your line in a sense, more fish more bites and all that.

I find it best to not involve myself in social media in any serious way. I poke the degens here for fun and other places, but I dont try and look for friends. It was not the nature of my generation. For friends I and my children as well are limited to our local communities. The human brain was not meant to deal with 1000s of "friends", unfiltered knowledge, and placed before them every injustice in a world of 8 billion. It was made to deal with 50 miles or so, 60ish years, and about 100 people per life. Social media is just to much, there is a reason Gen Xers like me, who lived through most of the same and more of what the millennials and zoomers have, but are mostly well adjusted while the other two are so mentally damaged. GenXers know when we have to keep our problems local, outside of that we have no power and try not to let that lack of control bother us.

In 1 John it explains what it means to be christian as well as why other may not want to be. It's hard being a Christian because it requires pushing aside the material (things of this world) for the eternal (God and his kingdom), which honestly is hard for many to do since they're more connected than ever in today's world. What we're seeing today though is the same that Jesus say with the Pharisees as they also lived for the world rather than for God.
It makes me sad to see people reject the word outright, but I do see where they come from. The best I would recommend is take the knowledge of the Bible and scholars/writers such as John Chrysostom or Saint Nicodemos and use what you've learned to answer common misconceptions people may have.
15) Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16) For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17) And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:15-17 NKJV
