Genevive Miryam Kervin was four when she slipped and fell into a river. The current, while gentle, quickly tugged her far downstream. She luckily caught onto a stone outcropping but was stranded for hours in the cold before park rangers could find and rescue her. When she was finally rescued, Genny solemnly swore to always keep her feet on solid ground (and preferably indoors where it was warm!)

Since her parents worked at a nature park and Genny was now staunchly against following them around outside, she spent most of her free time at the park museum. By the time she was ten, she had memorized all the permanent exhibits and was considered the museum curator’s unofficial assistant. Genny particularly loved the geology exhibit, with all the colorful rocks and minerals, and the historical exhibit, with the intricately decorated costumes.

Genny was always top of the class in math and history classes, taking extra and more difficult classes as she went along.

She moved to London for university where started as a History major but soon moved to Gemology and Jewelry Design where she was able to apply her love of art and drawing. Her professors trained her attention to detail and grew her appreciation of art and design.

Met Elias, a business major. Initially unpleasant relationship. But Andrew and Doris Bardsdale ADORED her and they hung out more and somewhere along the line their arguing turned to playful banter. Love, confession, dating.

Shortly after university, Elias proposed on a hot air balloon trip, something Genny had always wanted to do. They quickly got married, then inherited the Bardsdale's jewelry shop from his parents. Elias went to do the business side, while Genny took creative control. A few months later they discovered they were pregnant, a great joy to them both. Genny didn't miss a single day while she was pregnant, having to nearly be dragged away to actually go to the hospital. The Bardsdale family welcomed a little boy, one they called Lochi Elias. Genny often wore him in a sling while she was working, always wanting to be near her little boy.

Five years later, they learned they were pregnant again. Lochi didn't seem to like the news, but he slowly relented. When she was only seven months along, Genny fell quite ill. It took some convincing, but Elias dropped Lochi off with his parents, then went to take his wife to the hospital. After a long labor that ended in an emergency surgery, the Bardsdale family welcomed their second little boy. Samuel Reuben, as he was named, was sent to the NICU for several days before Genny and Elias were able to take him home.

They raised the boys with love, though Sammie was always a bit more sickly than his brother. When Lochi was eleven, a kind woman came to explain to the family that Lochi was magical. Not like storybook magic either, but quite real magic. He was set to go away to a boarding school, and though Genny didn't want to say goodbye, she was happy for his journey. He came home on all the holidays to a big feast and extra love, anyway.

Five years later, the same woman showed up with terrific news. Sammie would officially be joining his brother at Hogwarts. How wonderful! Though, Genny certainly didn't feel the same once her home was quiet and empty during the school years. Luckily, it was quite nice to spend that extra time with her husband.
