Alright so let me start off by giving a big shout out to my man Monsoour (his username as to not dox him or anything) he is one of our "Abrahamic brothers" I call them our "Abrahamic brothers" for the reason that is he is a Muslim. Now we have some obvious and fundamental differences in our ideas of how one gains salvation. But another key point of debate between us is this.
In the Quran, the Prophet meets an angel of light that he claims to be Gabriel. In it he presents the Prophet with text which he can not read as he is literate. The Angel then chokes him in anger basically then begins to dictate the word to him.
Alright so the thing no one can answer me is this, we know Satan can appear as an angel of light. We also know Satan is NOT all knowing. If an angel was sent by God to a Prophet, I feel its reasonable to assume that angel would be briefed on the fact that the guy couldn't read to begin with. I also can't think of any time an angel lays hands on one of Gods creations in anger. So my logical conclusion was this "angel" was the deceiver himself trying to pollute and corrupt the Gospel of Christ.
Which brings me back to the too my man Monsoour, who I call my "Abrahamic" brother. We have some things in common in belief, but the fundamental differences in the respective messages sadly means we can't be "Brothers in Christ" the thing that really is the thing that troubles me is, I'll never convert him, I can pray for him and hope the Holy Spirit opens his eyes. But thats about it. And before anyone ask "BUT BRO HAVE YOU ACTUALLY READ THE QURAN?" I read a large portion of it as an Atheist about 16 years ago. And keep a copy that Monsoour provided me so we could have more indepth debate. He likewise was supplied with a full bible.
I feel bad for the many peaceful folks who are mislead, and I pray for them. I know there's probably a lot of dudes like my homie out there that are misguided folks who want to do good and have the basic idea down. After all we both believe there was a flood, we both agree there was a jesus, we both agree he was born of a virgin birth. Its too bad that on the biggest points we can't come eye to eye. I admire that there is no hostility in our discussions and I am glad Holy Spirit put the man in my path, it helped me come to some realizations about misconceptions and preconceptions, it also help affirm some of my preconceptions as well though to be honest. Anyway that's my two cents, I don't think the Jeremiah 8:8 argument holds water to anyone who truly study's The Scriptures.
