I prefer the NIV or NLT. I like both versions and have both apps.

I hear NLT being used a lot in some places, but haven't used it too much. I end up using NIV or KJV.

Both seem to be pretty good versions, though 3nodding

I prefer to use the Greek Septuagint and have a lexicon or interlinear version aside from it. It's what people not just in Greece use, but all over the world.

That said, the NKJV, at least the one released for Orthodox Study bible, are revised to closer match the original greek translations and add back in what was removed from the KJV, but still they do not have everything 100%.

I'd recommend for anyone of any denomination to have an Interlinear Bible and a Greek/Hebrew Lexicon when reading verses. This helps clarify somewhat words or phrases that might not be translated correctly in versions like the NIV or NLT.

I don't own an Interlinear Bible, but looks incredibly useful since I tend to refer to the Greek/Hebrew Lexicon often. I often compare different Bible translations, use the Concordance, Lexicon, and such as all separate tools. Would be pretty cool to have an all in one.

I prefer the NIV as it is more understanding

Due to the ease of reading, that's generally a go-to for me as well 3nodding

I like the NCV but it does seem like I miss out on somethings due to it simplified

I can definitely understand how sometimes a version can feel over simplified and potentially leave a point out.

It was good on helping make it simple so it was easier for me to read thru. To me it's a good starting version of the bible so you get the wide scope of the books and then can read more in detail after. I'm trying to write a summary of each book and chapter but it takes a lot of time sweatdrop

Simple and easy to read and share is totally fantastic. I like to stick to a simple version and compare to more complicated versions to see what I'm missing. I like blueletterbible.org for doing this biggrin so many fun ways to do it!

Writing summaries can take time, but you know - that sounds like fun to do! My memory works well with stuff that I write down so maybe I should try that surprised

Ya that's why I started to do it cause that's exactly how I memorize things xD
It is very fun at first then after a while you burn yourself out quick but to be fair I did start with a lot on my plate for the first time doing it so maybe starting with less is a better idea sweatdrop

Smaller chunks might be better. I can see how some chapters might be quite daunting to do.

Numbers was one of them for sure lol Made me feel like I was rereading chapters cause they were sounding almost all the same with the laws lol

I can imagine! The lists get lengthy in Numbers with the old Israelite ceremonial laws. I also would think doing the genealogies would be a pain xd
