So after i posted my rant i put in a few more applications. One happened to be Marshalls, which is new to us here.
I got a call from one of the managers there!! They wanted me to join them in an orientation with some others, I walked out with a badge!!
I got a job! i'm still amp'd up about it.
4laugh emotion_hug I'm glad you got a job! That perseverance paid off.
As to the Walmart assessment thing... I also agree with what others have said about it being designed to make people fail. I work in community-based behavioral health and sometimes support people with applying for jobs; there's also a separate employment-focused team. There are so many people we know who try to pass the Walmart assessment and fail it again and again.
As for the Publix assessment, I worked part-time (as a second job) for Publix for a little while when one opened here a few years ago. I kind of remember the hiring assessment thing... When I took it, I felt like it was in my best interest to tailor my answers to what I could guess were the responses they were looking for. I mean, I didn't lie, but I did try to make sure I responded how I thought it would sound like what the "right" thing to say was... if that makes sense. I worked in the Deli. I liked it, and the pay was good for that kind of job. Their benefits for full-time employees are also decent.
