xxx🜃🜁PERSONALITY🜄🜂xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx LOYAL Sawyer has never had very many friends, so he cherishes the few he has. In general he prefers to be cautious and protective. While usually quite awkward in social situations, after losing a good friend in his third year, Sawyer thought through his reactions and has since refused to be passive when his friends need protecting. For example, if a drunk patron gets rowdy or rude, he’s perfectly comfortable kicking them out.
SILLY Sawyer loves jokes and comedy, ridiculous stories and snarky remarks. He loves most art, but tends towards cute things that make people laugh or smile with his own work-- both in style and content. As long as things are “just art” or “just for fun” he tends to be pretty carefree about it. With close friends, he’ll also show his nerdy passion for anime, games and dating sims.
AWKWARD When it comes to defending his friends, Sawyers can be perfectly intimidating and confident. For in-game characters and close friends, he has a sort of dorky charisma. But for everyday events and interactions, Sawyer is an awkward mess who tends to nervously overthink and underspeak. Similes and metaphors are his worst enemy but he keeps trying them anyways.
CREATIVE From artsy woodworking pieces and stick-figure comics to mixing drinks and designing new recipes, Sawyer has a love for making things and adding his own spin to existing things.
CONSISTENT Sawyer would very much like it if everything could just stay the same for awhile, but every time he feels like he’s gotten used to and is figuring out life, there’s a new normal to get used to. Despite this, he has two consistent beats he’ll always update on: cooking news, often involving discoveries in herbology and creatures; and some art project, usually involving anime or dating sims. xxx🜃🜁BACKSTORY🜄🜂xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 🜃🜁🜄🜂EARLY CHILDHOOD Sawyer Maceachthighearna was the only son of Simon, a muggle, and Galiene, a seer. While Sawyer was born in Glasgow, Scotland, the three lived further north in the village of Arden, near Loch Lomond. Every few months, the family would make the hour drive down to Glasgow to visit Simon's family and old friends and pick up a few extra clients.
Simon was a carpenter/ craftsman that made custom furniture and projects and through him, Sawyer was raised around plants and animals--both magical and muggle. There weren’t too many kids his age, and Sawyer tended to get along with creatures better than humans. After a misadventure, he made friends with a wood nymph family living in the woods became close friends with Freyja Babineaux, a half-nymph visiting from France.
When Sawyer was nine, Galiene died after a two-year struggle with a curse in her family. They had known it was only a matter of time, and Galiene had made Simon promise he would move on and find love again. While in muggle Scotland for her funeral, Sawyer suddenly went into a trance--Sawyer had inherited his mother’s Sight, and his first prophecy required obliviators to clear up. Terrified of the event and angry with the timing and aftermath, Sawyer didn’t want to have anything to do with divination.
🜃🜁🜄🜂SCHOOL YEARS At Hogwarts, Sawyer was sorted into Ravenclaw house. He was disappointed Frey would be attending Beauxbatons, but they kept up letters and the occasional visit.
In rebellion against his seer bloodline, Sawyer skipped taking divination his third year. But his cover was blown anyways when early in third year,he gave a fire-prone friend a prophecy about arson. His friend understood Sawyer didn’t have control of it and the prophecy probably didn’t mean them in particular, but rumors still labeled them a future arsonist, straining their friendship. Later in the year, Sawyer earned detention for cooking soup instead of brewing potions in class. After scrubbing cauldrons out, he was tasked with polishing crystal balls with Professor Somerset. Under her influence, Sawyer came to recognize the seer ability as more than an interruption and recognized that there were other things to divination--like an innate recognition for symbols--that could be useful and controllable. Thus, in fourth year he added divination, and learned to use his bloodline to reassure and comfort people with insight and glimpses of the future.
🜃🜁🜄🜂POST-GRADUATIONFollowing graduation, Sawyer spent the summer travelling the UK and Europe. In August, he started as a cook at a restaurant in wizarding London while commuting from his childhood home in Arden. Frey also worked there following her own graduation, and through her, he became close friends with Orion Lane. The two schemed about starting their own place and in Summer 2048, opened the Silver Bullet. Sawyer was happy to let Rion handle the business of it, leaving him the freedom to focus on the cooking and creating. He occasionally bartends, but definitely prefers the sanctuary of the kitchen.
In 2047, his father started seeing Sawan Amin, a friend and client in Scarborough. While Simon considered moving closer, Sawyer was hesitant about the budding relationship and leaving the seclusion of the quiet village. He found out Sawan had a magical nephew, but hasn’t gotten in contact yet.

CORE Astronomy ~ A
Astronomy was cool. It also got really complicated and was too much too quickly. He did fine on the OWL, and decided not to push his luck with NEWTs lest it ruin Astronomy for him. He actually remembers quite a bit from i.
Charms ~ E > E
Very good at charms, particularly defensive and practical ones. Casts the protective charms on the Silver Bullet Tavern.
Defense Against the Dark Arts ~ E >E
Quite good at describing and defending against dark creatures. He’s no duelist, but he’s usually quick enough to deflect things.
Herbology ~ O > O
Growing up in a woodland and familiar with herbs and spices from learning to cook, Sawyer’s strongest class was definitively Herbology. He demonstrated a thorough knowledge of not only plants and caring for them, but their magical properties, how these properties interacted with each other, the creatures that lived and interacted with them, and their mystical/ magical symbolism.
History of Magic ~ D
History was a fantastic class-- to nap in. Sawyer found the subject interesting to fall asleep to, confusing, generally forgot the class existed. He only attended the OWL because a classmate reminded him at lunch-- he had completely forgotten to study for it.
Potions ~ E > A
Sawyer was great in the kitchen, but that did not translate to the potions laboratory. He knew how to follow instructions and perform all the techniques admirably, and he definitely knew the herbs and ingredients and how they interacted. The problem was keeping straight the steps and orders for precise potion-making, or explaining how potions theory made any sense at all. Not being able to taste the potions as they were being made sucked, but generally, he enjoyed the subject well enough and scraped by the OWL well enough to continue. He considered dropping the NEWT altogether in 7th year but figured he’d stuck with it long enough to give it a shot. His Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures expertise absolutely carried his Potions NEWT class and Sawyer himself was very surprised to have gotten a passing grade on the exam.
Transfiguration ~ A
Transfiguration was always hit or miss with Sawyer. He could do the work, and the theory was actually pretty cool. The more advanced conjuration and banishment seemed very useful, but ultimately it was a pain to study, and as much as he liked it, he would be very happy if he never had to pick up another transfiguration book again.
ELECTIVES Art ~ A > E
Sawyer’s father was a woodworker and Sawyer did some wood carving -- he took Art specifically to learn to charm things. Over the years of the course he developed a deeper appreciation for art in general. He never got into the Art History aspect of it, but learned it well enough to borrow and sample from, and got lucky the NEWT was as practical heavy as it was.
Care of Magical Creatures ~ O > O
The best memories Sawyer had of his mother were lessons about creatures. The Maceachthighearnas lived near Arden, a small village near Loch Lomond, surrounded by woodlife. He had unique access to these creatures at home over the breaks and was always learning about the creatures or how to best take care of them.
Divination ~ O > O
Despite his seer bloodline, Sawyer didn’t take divination his third year. His mother had passed away before being able to properly explain and share her own experiences as a seer, and Sawyer generally rebelled against or ignored this part of him until Professor Somerset convinced him that there was more to divination. Thanks in part to being raised with a druidic father, he caught up easily enough, and from then on studied different methods of divination diligently. Even if he didn’t particularly like the seer identity, Professor Somerset had demonstrated the benefits and the opportunities of developing his Inner Eye, and Sawyer was willing to learn and practice.
Muggle Studies ~ E
Sawyer grew up in a muggle village and his dad, who’d raised him alone for the last decade, was a muggle-- he figured Muggle Studies would be an easy O. But his upbringing was more deeply rooted in magic than he’d realized at first-- his father practiced Celtic druidry and he lived in close contact with magical creatures that he’d always taken as a given. Aside from innovations in video games and animation and tools that his father used for woodwork, Sawyer didn’t keep very up to date on the latest in muggle technology and definitely learned some of it from class. He didn’t have to study much for the class to pass the exam, but decided it was very not worth continuing at the NEWT level.
Wandlore ~ E > E
Sawyer didn’t take wandlore to make wands-- he just wanted to know more about them, and thought the extra information into properties of woods and materials was interesting for art projects. He liked learning about the properties, continued the class simply because it was an enjoyable class.

Schedule
Usually home by 2:00, Sawyer wakes up around 9, walks Bonaile and checks up on Robbie Burns and the other animals and plants. Morning is pretty chill, usually works on art projects and tends the garden.
Silver Bullet is open 11:00-1:00. Sawyer is usually there for opening and usually closing. He'll take a few hours break in the afternoon and to run errands, relax with an otome game or take a nap. Can often be found in his kitchen at home experimenting with foodstuffs.
Mondays he's out with friends or camping around Arden. Spends usually a good few hours reading otome games or novels.
