Akito still didn't know how they'd managed to afford anything, even this small apartment, but they'd gotten lucky with the city they'd decided to move to. Destiny City had been a random pick, something they'd picked off the fly, no research done, and he hadn't known if they'd be able to afford anything here. They were lucky though...the city had a lot of areas that were up and coming - on the mend. So they had managed to afford a small apartment in one of those areas. The only way they had money was that he'd been saving up, for a while now, so they could move in together at some point. It wasn't planned to be here - in another country. But what mattered was they were still together.
Their living room though was a mess of boxes, some opened and some unopened as of yet, with furniture scattered about as things had just arrived a short while ago. "We should unpack the bedroom first." So they had somewhere to sleep, the living room could wait and the kitchen didn't need to fully be unpacked. They did, however, need to do find a grocery store and get some food in the kitchen. There was a lot to be done and Akito could only hope the English he knew would be enough to get by on and help him in getting a job, they didn't have a lot of money to live off of before they'd run out. Jobs were needed and the sooner the better.
The move really had been a rather quickly made decision by t hem both. He just hoped they didn't pay for it.
Hayate was still amazed by how quickly things had changed. In some pretty major ways. He had to assume that luck was on their side, probably for the first time in his life. Freedom was a completely new concept to him, not that he was literally tied down his whole life. Just directed in a very specific direction that allowed for too few detours. It was hard adjusting to making his own decisions, but he was certainly looking forward to it. Especially since he had a very special someone by his side to help him through every single step along the way.
It was all thanks to Akito that they could get away so quickly. They could have just moved out, but they needed a drastic change in pace. A new country? Why not, it seemed like a good idea. The only reason they could afford it at all was because Akito somehow managed to save money.
He hadn't been allowed a job, he had some money saved from years of allowance, but not a lot. After his parents found out about his relationship, he'd been instantly cut from his parents accounts. It was either end things with Akito, or end things with his family. It was like something had finally snapped in him, become clear for the first time. For once, he just couldn't go through with what they had planned for him anymore. Sure, Destiny City would be a new challenge for him. But at least he had taken a few Language classes. That, he had his parents to thank for. And that was about it.
He was digging through a box of cds in the living room when Akito spoke up. He slide the one he was holding back into place and turned his eyes toward the other man in the room. A coy smile was on his face. "You want the bedroom done first? If we do that nothing else is getting done today..."
Raising a brow at Hayate's reply he tilted his head a bit, smile curling his lips. "Is that so? Are you trying to tell me something? I just want a place to sleep tonight, aside from the couch." Which wouldn't be all that comfortable, not that it wasn't comfortable but it was cheap. He'd ordered, and had things shipped, here that were on the cheap side in order to save money and get some furniture in their apartment. Since they had both, till moving here, lived at home they didn't have furniture to bring with them. Eventually, with jobs and money saved up, they'd get new things perhaps. For now this was what they had and it would do.
"We can unpack some of the kitchen also...so we can eat in some comfort." Not as much as they were used to, living at home had afforded them both the comforts of living at home and having everything they needed at hand. For now they'd have to go without some things, maybe order food out,try and get groceries and find places to shop. It would take time but they would, in time, build things up and make this small four room apartment into a home - their home. Watching Hayate he smiled even more, slowly getting up and moving over to hug the other. "I'm glad we're here together." That they were doing this together, because it was scary. This was far from home and they had no support if they failed here.
