History:
Born to Vinter father, Araul, and his baker wife, Robea, Dartani was an active and mischievous child from the moment she could crawl. Always somewhere she shouldn't be doing something she knew she shouldn't be, she gave her family no end of worries. They feared for her future as she took no real interest with anything craft related, until the Hold Harper took an interest in her singing voice. Taking the young girl under his wing he nurtured her natural talent as well as taught her the basics of harp, guitar, drum beats as well as pipes but showed a distaste for wind instruments.
After a few short years she was recommended and accepted to study in the Harper Hall to learn under Masters. Being located on the other side of the continent she was given special consideration to fly dragonback rather then have to travel for weeks over land or the perilous journey by sea. Dartani will never forget her first flight with J'red and blue Garth.
Not much changed during her tutelage, though it did take some time to find her place among her peers. Dartani flourished, and by the time she earned her Journeywoman knot aged 21 she had started taking an interest in song writing. Though she didn't have a knack for writing melodies she had a flair for words, and this talent would get her a posting at Fort Weyr in early Turn 183. After the tragedy of the plague, Pern might like to hear a song of hope and new beginnings.
Other: Her skill with instruments in descending order; vocal, guitar, harp, violin, drum, flute. pipes. She forces herself to practice pipes/flute every so often, but will always complain that her fingers were just not made for playing them.
