Appearance: Otelie is short and fine boned, delicately-built enough that she looks like a strong wind might blow her over. With moderate curves and thin, long fingers, she has a nice enough form but doesn’t give much impression of strength. Her hair is a bright, vivid red, and her skin is covered from head to toe in freckles. Dark blue eyes that are very round and seem perpetually-startled rest above a nose that has a slight hook, and a small but well-shaped mouth sits above a rather pointy chin.

History:
Born to a small holder family with half a dozen children, Otelie was mostly lost in the crowd until she was found to have an exceptionally clear and on-key singing voice, upon which there was talk about sending her to the Harper Hall for training. Unfortunately, despite her talent Otelie possessed a rather extreme form of stage fright, and was actively sick when her parents tried to coax her to sing for a visiting Journeyman Harper, and it seemed unlikely that dream would come to pass. Time passed, and when she was fourteen a rider passed by on Search. When that happened, Otelie surprised the entirety of her family when she was not only found to be acceptable for candidacy, but when the shyest child of their family stepped up to go to the Weyr.

The impact of the plague on such a compassionate soul has been a strong one. Though she lacked any personal connection to the riders and dragons being struck down by the dozen, Otelie nonetheless took each death as a blow---until gradually she began to grow a bit numb to it. The entirety of the northern continent being left virtually without hope stirred a quiet sort of determination in her, as she vowed to do what she could for who she could, even if it just meant offering comfort to those grieving.

When the clutch from Southern came, she knew it was a risk --- but Stood anyway, because just maybe there was an egg on the sands that needed her, no matter how long or short their life may be. And in the midst of it all, Gudoth hatched, reluctantly shaking himself free of his shell and shuffling lazily across the sands towards her.

Other: Gudoth tends to mother-hen her and she lets him get away with it more than she probably should --- she’s not very good at standing up to his more opinionated moments.

Appearance: Very round, with legs and tail on the shorter side, but with large wings and and a certain poise in the way he carries his head. A two-tone brown with a large spot on the end of his nose.

Positive - Nurturing, Contented, Protective
Negative - Controlling, Fussy, Stubborn
Other: Otelie needed someone to fuss over her and dote on her, and Gudoth was just the dragon for the job. Is a very organized dragon and likes to keep his wallow in a particular order. He’s been caught attempting to straighten up after his clutchmates, whether they want him to or not!
