■ Was born as a part of this like... fleet. But the fleet was made up of various species that all shared the same genetic lineage. So basically, a small civilization/armada of half-siblings.
■ Each member of this fleet would maintain what they referred to as their father. This being was an ancient spaceblob that didn't seem to be able to move or communicate on its own, but could telepathically to its children who tended to its every need.
■ Calico doesn't remember living there, but had been born there, as she has a sigil branded onto her neck that indicated their relation. She, along with a few other youngins, were taken to be like... I dunno. Studied? Chucked off a cliff? It was believed that the fleet were hiveminds, so maybe they were taken to test this. (they weren't hiveminds tho)
■ Calico remembers being taken care of by a lot of different people and didn't really have a mother/father figure. Just a bunch of homies. They gave her the name Calico after the type of earth cat that had a patchy fur pattern, like her skin. Nobody seemed to be sure where she was from or what she was, but they also didn't care.
