Although the air was frosty, Raqisath was full of energy. She had completely recovered from the scoring she received during her first Threadfall and was more than ready to get back into the air. Unfortunately, Reya's injured elbow and burned leg were taking longer to heal, and while the human pushed herself hard, practicing so that she would be as good with her off-arm and following the healers' instructions with the burn to the letter, her recovery had kept Raqisath grounded for the last few Threadfalls, and the young green was anxious to get back to the skies.
Lately, to burn off excess energy, Raqisath had taken to finding a place where she could mostly hear the harpers' evening music and enjoying it. Not that simply listening burned much energy, but what Raqi did while she listened helped: the slim green danced. She was especially prone to dancing when there was a strong drumbeat or a closely blended chorus of voices to pulse through her body with every beat of her hearts.
This evening she was less inclined to dance than usual. The music was faint, and she couldn't quite make it out, which meant it was probably only provided by one or two harpers, and they were probably playing instruments with strings, which didn't carry well through the stone walls of the Weyr. Furthermore, she was still smarting from something Makhmilith had told her the night before, namely that dancing was a ridiculous thing for a dragon to do.
Despite her reservations, however, Raqi's tail curved into deliberate shapes in keeping with what she could hear (or guess at) of the music's tempo, her head swayed, and her wings flexed. She wanted to dance.
