- At first glance, Jasper appears to suffer from quite the Napoleon Complex—quick to anger and easy to provoke, Jasper often comes off as hostile and abrasive to those he's unfamiliar with. Though, his aggression stems more from defensiveness and a general distrust of anyone, rather than a need to cause harm. Jasper is largely unfamiliar with friendly displays of affection and doesn't often give or reciprocate it, but that doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate it. Beneath his angry, defensive exterior, he is more frightened and vulnerable than anything else.

- Jasper was born in an illegal underground fighting arena with the purpose of fitting into an elite and carefully bred group of fighters. He was, however, abnormally small and did not meet the standards placed on those bred within the program. Among the other “rejects,” he was used as bait instead of being subjected to the rigorous training. To make him somewhat more formidable to the fighters, Jasper was evolved at a very young age and subsequently had his tails docked to prevent extra injury during fights. This, however, didn’t stop him from fighting back and he soon garnered a reputation within the arena for his ferocity, despite his small stature and lesser ability. After critically injuring a star fighter in a warm-up match, Jasper was taken out, beaten, and left for dead in the outside world.
Having never received a proper name, Jasper then named himself, thinking it sounded tough. (It's not.)
