Appearance: S'var is on the shorter end of average for a man and is largely bald, has been for turns, but he wears it like he wears everything - with dignity and an undeniable gravitas. His blue eyes are intent, often serious but seldom angry and when he's relaxing with friends they light up the room as much as his kind humour and interesting anecdotes. He prefers attire that is both smart and practical, he has little use for frippery but believes that being well turned out is important.
Personality: Although he loves to read and to learn, and has a great appreciation for the arts, S'var is at heart a man of action - a life of what felt like near retirement in the south - after the new Weyrleader of Telgar 'kindly allowed him to honourably retire from the rigours of Wingleadership' in 176 - suited him not at all. He loves to be in the thick of things; planning, directing, always striving for improvement, and more than happy to pitch in with the actual doing too.
As a young man S’var was fiery, and though intelligent tended to leap in before fully considering the consequences of his actions; many turns of experience however, and Nemanath’s steady presence, have mellowed him somewhat. Today S’var is a man of compassion and of great integrity who is slow to anger, but his ire once roused is a thing to behold indeed.
History:
115 - Born to a family of long established vinters in Telgar, the youngest of three children. If anyone says Benden wine is the best, expect a S’var eyebrow.
130 - Searched to Telgar Weyr for Junior Gold Geldorth and Bronze Tanlerth clutch. He failed to Impress but remained at the Weyr.
132 - Impressed Brown Nemanath at Junior Gold Wisath and Bronze Zaigrelth’s clutch.
138 - His first child Vallia is born as the result of a mating flight.
140 - S’var becomes a wingsecond.
148 - S’var is promoted to wingleader.
149 - His second child Coronvar is born, S’var and his mother C’lia had a liaison that ended a couple of turns after Coronvar’s birth but they remained good friends afterwards.
157 - His youngest child Vashrinar is born as the result of a mating flight.
163 - First grandchild Vasilir is born.
165 - Second grandchild Corrine is born.
169 - Third and fourth grandchildren Selvaron and Varella are born
176 - A’gor of Bronze Layalth becomes Weyrleader of Telgar. Longstanding friction between S’var and the much younger bronzerider culminates in his demotion, framed as honorable retirement, and a swift transfer to Monaco Bay Weyr where he can’t cause A’gor any headaches.
178 - The plague begins in the autumn.
179 - Va’li and Cor’var lose their dragons Courath and Meloth around a month apart, both are taken between by their younger brother Va’shir.
183 - S’var accompanies M’rio north as part of his Entourage.
Over the turns S’var had series of casual relationships, as is typical for many within a Weyr. He always sort of hoped that he might find ‘the one’ but it never happened, the closest he ever came was a very close bond with a minor holder whose family lands included his family’s vinyard; the pair were certainly in love but she could never have married a rider and so they have instead remained lifelong friends. Sometimes S’var wonders what could have been but he doesn’t dwell overmuch.
Now that he has returned north S’var has set his sights on finding a new purpose for himself, given his age he knows he’ll never be a wingleader again but perhaps candidatemaster would suit him?

Appearance: Large and stately as a galleon, Nemanath is a fine figure of a brown even now his hide has begun to dull with age. He was always a pale fellow but his dappled buckskin hide has lightened even more and lost some of its saturation, and his once dark leg markings are starting to grey and lighten too.
Personality: Nemanath is a quiet fellow, a thoughtful one, with a tendency to see the world in binary or black and white, even entering his sixth decade of life he needs his rider's help with nuance. With this said however his rather rigid view of the world also gives him rigid morals, he is determined to always do what he believes to be right no matter the personal cost.
Very protective by nature this fellow will always try to shelter his friends and comrades under his wide wings, whether that means stepping into a fight, lending a listening ear, or just being a big comforting presence to cuddle up to. Although he’s not a very talkative fellow he is happiest when surrounded by other people be they dragon, human, or firelizard - whers he’s less keen on but he will still be civil to the most often maligned of the dragonkin.
Mind voice: Nemananth’s mental presence is felt far more often than his voice is heard; it is warm, solid, and feels vast as it coils gently around those he’s communicating with. When he does actually speak his voice can be quite a shock to the uninitiated; clipped and cool it all all precision and none of the gentleness of the background feeling of his mind.
