Hey guys, as a suggestion from Glengrin, I made this thread so we can hopefully help each other out.
Some of us have problems finding good places to shop for cloths, shoes and so many other things so suggestions are awesome. The good and the bad!!
Example: I have a hard time finding wide shoes and plus size cloths. Any suggestions are great <3

I've had several recommendations for Apple Seed clothing for plus sized women; it's an online store. One friend swears by Ebay, but she knows exactly the brand and style she wants when she shops there.
I also need natural fabrics such as cotton; synthetic fabrics cause problems for me. Any other suggestions?
For wide shoes, best bets are quality shoe stores, custom or semicustom shoes in person or online, and surprisingly some of the larger arts fairs.

Some of this stuff is probably stuff you already know but
I have a problem finding plus size clothes as well, and then the ones you do find are usually not very cute or stylish. Try thrift stores, sometimes you can find decent plus sized clothes there..I'm not saying all the time it can be very hit or miss especially in the area where I live. Idk if you have Bell's outlet but I sometimes find nice plus size stuff there. Don't shop Ross. Marshalls or Target their sizes are never actually plus size u.u
There is also Torrid..which I love but only shop there if your willing to spend like 20 bucks on one t-shirt, Lane bryant..which I personally don't like. Blair's is an online store that has ok plus size clothes, though some of their stuff can be kinda old lady-sih lol
I'm gonna be biased and say if all else fails go to Walmart.. they've kind of improved their plus size clothes selection and their new plus size line called terra or terra sky(i cant remember which) has some really cute stuff.
As for shows, I can't say I don't wear wide size, my problem is I have flat feet..i basically have no arch so i can't wear most shows because they literally hurt my feet. I have to wear totally flat soled shoes like converse or old fashion keds. so 99% of the time I only wear flip-flops or sneakers like that.
Idk about natural fabrics, my mom is the same way, she only wears 100% cotton, even her bed stuff is 100% cotton she just goes to the normal stores and makes sure to check the tags for 100% cotton. I do know that she has been very lucky with finding all cotton stuff in thrift stores..but i think that was a one time thing. I also know that you can get 100% cotton sheets at target and recently on amazon she ordered(and then later me) a 100o;tton inside and out quilt for the beds

I find it easy to find 100% cotton bedding. It's plus sized clothing specifically that is now almost impossible to find new that is at least 90% cotton. Walmart used to have good stuff once in a while, but now they're clothing, while cute has much to high a percentage synthetics. Kohl's has a good selection of cotton clothing in smaller sizes, but the exact same version in plus size will be so thin a fabric you can see through it, and/or over half synthetic fabric content.
I agree about Target, Ross's and Marshals.
I'll check out Blair's and Torrents online, if they're consistent in sizing and have a good cotton selection, or washable linen.

Here is the shoe site that makes custom shoes at no extra cost. They'll even customize color.
I see they've expanded their offerings with some eye opening expensive boots and customization, oh my! But their price on sandals and slippers has not gone up in over 5 years; they're still the same.

And I agree about clothes, even finding at least 90% cotton stuff is hard and I do agree about Wal-Mart clothes some of their stuff can be too synthetic. But sometimes I'll just get it anyway since I don't personally look for natural fibers in clothes. But I do look at labels lol! And I do have quite a few pjs from there that are 100% cotton.
I've seen some from Blair's that is all cotton, you just have to pay attention to the item info, you might even find wide shoe sizes there too. Torrid is pretty good about sizes..labeled kinda weird but still pretty consistent. And I've gotten a couple tees from them that are 100% organic cotton which is surprising.

I actually made a mistake on the organic cotton side, it's not Torrid that I got the organic cotton tees from, though they are 100o;tton just not organic. The organic ones are actually from some brand called Chaus Organic I can't remember what store they come from though, maybe some online research might be in order.
Haha! I always forget that B,B, and B has bedding usually when I go there it's for cooking stuff. I have a pair of organic cotton sheets from Target that are really nice though.
I did check out Windwalkers too, they have really nice stuff. a little pricey but still nice! They're slippers look really comfy though, but i think they'd be too hot for FL weather mrgreen

I use their slippers in winter only; I live in their sandals. Yes the price is high, but they last me up to 5 years which makes them very affordable. I get the ortho ones custom made for that price too, so they fit like a glove and are super comfortable. The longer I have them, the more they mold to my feet. This pair is now 4 years old and I got a second pair for when the leather dies on this pair. The slippers last just as long and I wear them when I'm at home during the cold months. Plus you can request what colors you want with the sandals; she'll go off catalog for that.
Thanks about the correction; if those t shirts were recent and the store isn't a local chain to your area, that could be valuable information where they came from.
I would really love to find cotton pants, tank tops and light floaty blouses for summer; it's been about 4 years since I found any in those items.

I bet they do wonders in the winter for you! I can definitely see the price for the sandals being worth it, especially if they last you up to 5 years and you wear them all the time!
I did do some searching online about the brand the shirts are, and it looks like they may be a brand is sold by Belks and maybe Sear's. I was actually given the tops as a gift so I can't be totally sure. An I've had them for about two years.
I totally get what you mean about tops like that, I'd like to find some myself. But when you see them they tend to be a little heavy feeling or not in plus size u.u. I wish I could help you with pants, are you looking for like those flowy/guazey beachy type pants? my mom has a pair of cotton ones she found in the thrift store and we could never figure out where they could have come from. We assume a store like Ross or Bealls outlet. In fact if you check Blair's they might have some or some sort of cotton pants.

If they're full length and not skinny jeans type, it'd be wonderful. I tend to go with twills or jeans. I miss being able to get them in many colors. One plus sized store near me (Catherines) does have cotton pants but the rise is way to high; about 4 inches above my belly button even on the petite cuts. Too bad; they also came in many colors. All their blouses are either long sleeved or 3/4 length these last few years too, so no luck on cool cotton blouses either. And why are all the stores all doing tank tops on polyester? I mean seriously; if it's hot enough to wear a tank top, it's too hot for synthetics that hold in the heat!!! scream

My mom had a little bit of a hard time finding 100% cotton bedding but she did find some.
OOOooo, potential sites then! Thanks.
Be sure to check out the shoe site I posted.
Oh Bed, Bath and Beyond has a lot of cotton bedding. I get my sheets from them and they are online too.
My mom's pair i wanna say is like a flare but not hippie flare lol But yea that's understandable, Blair's sells like boot cut, straight leg or like capri/peddle pusher length. and different colors..you mean like pink or sky blue? o.o your waay more adventurous in pant colors than me. and yes! i've noticed that as well with tank tops, in fact I got some men's plain white tank tops a few weeks ago and the package said that they were all 100% cotton, but i go to find out that while 3 are in fact all cotton two of them are a cotton poly blend o.o how does that even happen?

I know what style you mean; I'd love to find some like that that fit and are flattering.
Most stores seem to sell only that right now.
Yes, or brown or red or green.... It's really no harder to do than making avies when you can find pants and other clothing, besides tops in many colors.
Oh my. Earlier this year I did find some pants in 99% cotton and they are super comfortable. But other exact same pants in that line in that color and all the other colors were 40% cotton/60% poly which was really disappointing. I asked the same question "how does that even happen?" But in the same package like your tank tops? Wow!

Yeah it's kinda hard to find jeans/pants right now because it's all skinny style, I mean I have two pairs of skinny jeans. But sometimes I just want to wear boot cut or flare. I mean HELLO! your legs get hot in skinny jeans rofl
That's true, its not different than if you were dressing your avi on here, but I wouldn't mind colored pants..except I tend to spill things on myself and wearing light colored pants would be a little troublesome. I do however wear printed pants with no problem haha.
Exactly! and I get if they were separated from the others like you were saying about the pants, but in one package..that just doesn't make any sense. I have noticed that with tops and stuff as well, one color can be like 99 cotton and then another color/print is a totally different blend. I sometimes wonder if its the color/print itself. but that still doesn't make sense.

If you tend to spill stuff, I have the product for you: Resolve (formally Spray n Wash) stain stick. It's the reason I still have clothing that is not stained. It is not a bleach stick (those don't really work), but an enzyme cleaner you apply as you put clothing in the hamper (follow package directions). Then when it comes time to do the wash, voila, no stains. It's kind of hard to find at times because the company is pushing newer products but it's one of the best things out there and no perfume odor.
Skinny jeans emotion_facepalm So been there done that twice before this round. And they're so unflattering to older bodies that are not super skinny. A large percentage of the female population now is over 55 and yes, we too need to wear nice flattering clothing.
As for content shift, in the same lines and even the same colors, I can only surmise the higher cotton content versions were made earlier, when cotton was more available. There was a shortage for several years but I heard farmers internationally started planting a lot of it again last year.
