■ Cinna, or Cindarie, was deemed a hulkynd, or "broken child" at birth given the discolored patches on her face. The Altmer are eugenics-y pricks that can't have any shite like that, so she was sent elsewhere to live. ■ Maybe also there was some drama s**t with her parents. Like, her mother (Eldaria) was to be married off to someone her parents selected, but she was having relations with someone else that she loved (Melnath), but he wasn't as boujee as her rents wanted. So she got preggers and her family was like *snooty noises* and so whatever arrangement they had was in jeopardy. It seemed there was no sweeping this under the rug, but when Cinna was born, she had a few patches of vitiligo on her face, and her stinky a** grandparents were like, "ope, can't keep that one then!" So, they sent Cinna off to grow up elsewhere as a hulkynd and they pretended that none of this ever happened. Cinna's mother was married off to some snooty rich tit where she now lived a bland Altmer life with a new family that was considered more acceptable by Altmeri standards. ■ Cinna's father discovered her whereabouts and would frequently check in on her as she grew up. Due to social circumstances, he could not take her in, but would make sure she was okay. ■ She was brought up in a monastery dedicated to Kynareth. Here she learned bard s**t. There were some songs that were thought to please Kynareth and bring certain weather conditions, and so Cinna was taught some of these worship songs to play when rain or whatever was needed. ■ Once she was older, she left the monastery to become a traveling bard. Believing herself ugly, she reveled in the attention she would receive and for a while, but soon found this attention to be unfulfilling... and uncomfortable. But for a while, it was the only kindness she received, as she had no family. ■ At some point, she reunited with her father, but the relationship remained somewhat distant, as he had his own family. He told them she was a distant cousin of his when she came to stay for a bit. ■ It was an awkward living arrangement, to say the least. Curious about her mother, she inquired who she was and discovered her to be of somewhat nobility. ■ During a ceremony for Eldaria's daughter and Cinna's half-sister, Calsara, she showed up to observe as a performer. Here, Cinna witnessed boujee Altmer society. It seemed Calsara was being sent off to learn more magic, hailed as some sort of prodigy. Cinna was jealous at first, that could have been her life. Wanting to know more of Calsara, she saw her disappear from the party for a moment and followed after, where she witnessed the mage begin to break down and seemed mortified upon noticing Cinna. ■ Cinna was like, "I'm just a bard, I don't care," and Calsara said something about everything being too much for her to handle anymore, but she gotta do it to make her family happy. ■ Eldaria then appears looking for Calsara and recognizes the patterns on Cinna's face. She's like, "********/>■ Everything is explained. ■ When Calsara goes off for wherever, Cinna goes with her, eager to leave Summerset Isles for good.

All that's known about Cinna is what she claims; patron saint of the unreliable narrator, she's said to have grown up in Alinor, raised as a hulkynd with her sister Calsara in a monastery dedicated to Syrabane. Sometimes, they are twins, other times, Cinna is the eldest, and on a rare occasion, they weren't really related at all; she can never seem to decide which it was. As a hulkynd, she had never really had any family, aside from Calsara. Regardless of their exact relation, she served the role as a protective, more brash older sister. Both of them fancied themselves as creative types, with Cinna preferring song and dance, while Calsara wrote poetry. It was while she lived in the monastery that she picked up the lute and ocarina to entertain guests, where she would then perform the songs and poetry Calsara wrote.
Once the two of them had gotten older, they went their separate ways, with Calsara staying behind in the Summerset Isles, while Cinna left to explore Tamriel as a travelling bard. That was, at least, one of the stories she told about her departure from her homelands. Interested in the Bard's College of Solitude, she enrolled as a student to learn in a more structured environment, as she had mostly been self-taught up until then.

I wouldn't say I'm fast paced, but I won't take weeks and weeks to respond or anything like that. I like writing mid to long posts length-wise; I usually match whoever I'm writing with, but I prefer to have at least 300 words or so as a minimum to give enough to work with.

Heyoo! I'm Skawly and I'm a huge ho for the Elder Scrolls. My favorite kinds of plots revolve around spooky s**t and Daedric shenanigans, but I'm cool with cute slice of life things as well! Cinna is a new character of mine that I'm still figuring out, so I'm kinda open to whatever at this point for her, but I would like to explore her backstory and identity a bit, if possible! I'm open to romance plots, but tend to prefer slow-burn sort of relationships. Idk just don't drop me into one or I'll scream.

■ Based on the consistencies in Cinna's life stories, she claims to have grown up within a monastery dedicated to Syrabane in Alinor after being dubbed a hulkynd at birth. She claims what lead her to being labeled as such was a combination of her vitiligo and a scandal involving her parents. Her mother Eldaria was of a more noble lineage and thus, was to be married off to someone her family chose for her to secure a "pure" bloodline. However, Eldaria had fallen in love with a man of less fortune named Merlon, where she went on to have Cindarie. Having thrown the plans for the arranged marriage out of whack, Eldaria's parents had Cindarie taken away, claiming the light patches on her face were too glaring of imperfections. After this point, Cinna wasn't certain what became of either of her parents, but she assumed that her mother had been married off to whoever she originally was.
■ While she was growing up at the monastery, Cinna often mentioned another hulkynd girl named Calsara, to whom she was very close with, sometimes going as far as saying they were twins. Regardless of their actual relationship, Cinna acted as a protective older sister to Calsara, who was much more meek and sensitive. They had nearly opposite personalities, but balanced each other out. The two were inseparable and would combine their creative talents to create music, with Calsara writing the lyrics while Cinna would perform them. Upon adulthood, Cindarie left the Summerset Isles in pursuit of travel and inspiration, while Calsara stayed behind.
■ Since leaving her homeland, Cinna has travelled all throughout Tamriel, writing and performing music wherever and whenever she can. She approaches most opportunities as a means of gaining inspiration and doesn't tend to stick to one location for long. However, since arriving in Skyrim, she has taken an interest in the Bards College in Solitude. Up until joining, she had been entirely self-taught and on her own, but wanted to know what it would be like to learn from the masters and play amongst others.
But who really is Cinna?
In truth, there never really was a Cindarie that grew up in a hulkynd on the social fringes of Alinor. There was, however, her "sister" Calsara. A woman who was cast to lowly work in a monastery, with no family to speak of, or any friends for that matter. Anxious and shy, Calsara had trouble forming connections with other people and often retreated into her own head. She spent most of her time writing poetry that dealt with themes and depression and loneliness. Calsara longed for someone to spend time with who truly cared about her, like a sister or even just a friend.
She began to think up this person and what they would be like, and what they would do together. Calsara always wanted someone who would bring her poetry to life, as she was too timid to perform it herself. She desperately wished for a friend like that and it would seem that her lonely, despairing thoughts were heard.
Not by any of the Divines, but a god that wasn't of particularly sound mind.
Drawn to the reclusive poet Calsara, the madgod Sheogorath blessed her with the friend she had always wanted; problem was, she wasn't an entirely separate person, but she was fleshed out as such. A person as real and complex just as Calsara was, but she lived inside her head. Though she was aware of this, her new sister Cindarie felt as real as anyone else, even if she couldn't physically interact with her.
From there, Cindarie helped Calsara stand up for herself and become a more confident person, but she could only help the poor, lonely hulkynd woman so much. When Cinna departed from Alinor, she and Calsara obviously couldn't have gone separate ways. Having fallen into a deep state of depression and apathy, Calsara offered that Cinna take full control and live the rest of their lives as herself. Though she was saddened by Calsara's state, Cinna agreed to her sister's offer and took full control of her body.
Though Cinna has been only herself ever since, Calsara still exists, receded into the back of her mind. At times, Cinna is able to get lyrical inspiration from her, but generally tries to leave her alone.
