Everybody wants to be a cat. . .
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

” Oi, Desi! Quit running and wait for me! ” Mama Nico yelled out as she watched her little boy run around the sandy beach like energized bullet. He had been begging her almost all day about going to the beach since it was finally open for the warm weather. Of course, she couldn’t tell him no. Just look at how excited he was! Desi had a glimmer of excitement in his eye as he ran about - It was so damn cute! Running up to him, trying to catch up, Nico finally grabbed him and swept him into her arms. A barrage of kisses attacked his chubby little cheeks before Desi had managed to squirm his way out of her arms. ” YUCK! Not in public, Ma! “ He could make up as many excuses as he wanted, Mama knew how much her little boy liked to be babied and kissed on at home. Being in public wasn’t going to change that fact.

Watching him run off again, the feline decided to set up their things on the beach. Since she was off all day, she was going to spend it all sprawled out to get a tan! Finding a good spot, she pulled out a large folded beach towel and placed it out for them to lay or sit on. To top it all off, Nico had also stabbed a large umbrella right next to it for some shade for the kiddo. His baby skin got easily sunburnt, so she had preemptively slathered a good layer of sunscreen before they had even left the house. She knew she wouldn’t be able to keep him still enough once they actually got out here to do it. While Desi ran around playing with the waves on the shore, Nico sat onto the towel and started to pull her phone out from the beach tote.

Where the hell was Sonic? Like how Desi had bugged her, she was going to bug blondie to get out here too! Scrolling through the contacts list on her phone, she started to send him a text. Nico had told him that she had planned on coming out here, but she had forgotten to mention her kid. Hopefully Desi wouldn’t annoy him too much.

Recipient: Sonic the Builder 🦔
Message: Yo, where are you? Are you still coming?

. . .Because the cat's the only cat, who knows where it's at!

                                                  LIEV HASTINGS
                                                  ((. . .))

He decided to take a walk on the beach. Aaron wasn't with him. It wasn't as if they were fighting. He did bring it up. Of course, Liev wanted him to come--and maybe he will later. Anything was possible. The waves lapped at his feet as he walked. Eyes mainly focused on the nature around him. The hum of voices was just that to him. He was aware of their being others, enough to move out of the way when needed, but wasn't paying much attention to them. Every once in a while he would bend down to look at something in the sand before continuing on. Most of the time his thoughts were on Aaron. Their relationships seemed to be going fine, but he wasn't being honest with him. It's not as if he lied, but omitted. Even though there was a good reason for it, he still felt bad. It wouldn't hurt to tell him, right? What if he got mad at him? Or hated him and wanted nothing to do with him? A sad look washed across his face. There was no way he wouldn't be upset. Omitting was basically lying and lying was the worst. He's the worst. Plus, he'd be a furry ********. People thought that s**t was gross. Liev knew that. It was a niche community after all. One which didn't even know about his kind being a reality. It was probably for the best. A slight smile formed on his features as he ran a hand through his hair. It'd be best to get it over with. Easier said than done, however.

It was a clear sunny morning as Princess Rei traveled by horseback towards the beach on her Friesian stallion Thunder. Though rarely did she set foot outside the city, this was a welcome relief from her normal days at the library. She wore her usual royal attire out of habit.; A simple elvish style, medium violet dress that went down to her ankles with matching flats and tiara, leaving her long raven hair down out of habit. Tying the stallion to the nearest hitching post, she made sure to keep her horse out of the hot sun beneath the overhang. Without a word, Rei went on ahead down the beach for a walk. Moments later, she noticed someone ahead lost in thought, an older gentleman with white hair. "Good day, sir. Everything alright?" Rei asked him curiously in her usual timid voice, stopping a few feet away. She dared not pry, not wanting to make this stranger uncomfortable at all. Regardless, the princess waited patiently.

[օօƈ]: Um, hope you don't mind if Rei gets to speak with Liev for a bit, if that's ok? ^_^*

He didn't notice her at all--which was strange for him. Liev was aware people were around. He just didn't realize she was about to address him specifically. Amber eyes shifted to look at her while taking in her regal appearance--not as if he cared about such status. Feet coming to a stop to dig into the sand slightly. Water lapping at his feet still. A small smile graced his features. "I'm a bit hot," he stated a truth without mentioning what he had been thinking about, "Perhaps I should finally enjoy the water more. Do you plan to dive in?" His voice was gentle as he spoke. There was no hint of sadness, but he wasn't being particularly cheerful either. Waiting only a moment for a response, he turned to take a few steps closer to the sea. He was not a fan of the burning hot rays of the sun. It wasn't until she snapped him out of his semi-trance when he realized how much he needed to cool off. Luckily, no one would really notice. It wasn't as if he outwardly showed any signs--minus sweating. People did such a thing at various frequency anyway. It wasn't a big deal. Liev bent down to splash some salty water into his face before turning back to look at her again. "I'm going to head out deeper." He said mainly just so he wasn't being rude and leaving potentially mid-conversation. It wasn't an invitation, but he wouldn't have minded if she joined either. He quickened his steps before diving under a large enough wave. His head popped out of the water behind it.

As she watched for a bit, Rei gave a small smile with a nod in agreement to the man's question. "Of course!" Rei answered him with delight in a rather cheerful tone. The weather was indeed quite hot out that summer day, though she had no idea of the temperature. The ocean seemed quite inviting as the waves crashed upon the beach. She took off her shoes and placed her tiara beside them, making sure no one would take her things. Walking towards the water, Rei let it go up to her knees before diving in.; Only to come up with her hair and clothing soaked, a few feet away from him. She didn't mind getting wet, knowing there'd be time to dry off for later. The princess's gaze turned back towards the white haired gentleman with a small, cheerful smile. "Feels good to be out here for once. Ah, how I've missed this sort of break! Might I ask your name?" Rei inquired rather curiously. She didn't mind getting to know the townspeople of Fantasie City, though the young princess had been a bit cautious of most, except for those she'd already met.

He looked back to watch her dive in without taking off her clothes. Perhaps it was wrong to assume she had a bathing suit underneath. She didn't seem bothered and so he wasn't worried about it. A smile was sent in her direction when she popped her head out of the water to give one of her one. "When was the last time you took a dip in the ocean?" He asked only because she made it seem like it has been a good amount of time. "Ah, my name is Liev. And yours?" A moment later a wave took his attention away; although, she had plenty of time to respond. Liev dove over the crashing wave before it completely broke. A smile graced his features. The water made him feel so much better. He could almost forget about the blistering sun. Almost. "Do you live around here?" He asked as he continued to move gently with flow of the sea.

The feeling of being back in the water was better than she'd expected, especially after a busy morning at home. The princess looked back towards the gentleman just as he asked a question. "Sometime last year with my sister back home." Rei was thankful to relax in a more open environment for once, compared to most places that felt hotter than a barn. "I'm Princess Rei Riberu of Nurin Kingdom. Pleased to meet you, Lieve." she added a bit timidly as a response to his second question, smiling a little.
The last question nearly caught her off guard, but she didn't mind making small talk for a while. "Yes, I'm in the Aether District. Moved in last winter, so I'm now the assistant librarian." The water had been a bit calmer than she'd imagined. Once the wind had slowed down a bit more, Rei used her free hand to push back her bangs a bit out of her face to see better. "What about you?" she inquired curiously. Over towards her left, the princess could see some older children making a large sand castle around her tiara for some silly reason. Rei couldn't help but grin at the sight, hearing one of the boys speaking in an old elvish dialect as if he were a knight. For the moment, Rei then turned her gaze back towards Lieve, patient as ever.
