T'layo and Bronze Ekeneth
Name: T'layoAge: 26
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Homosexual
Former craft: Fishing (trading, freshwater)
Of: Fort Weyr
Origin: Shellshoal Hold of Paradise River Hold, Monaco Bay Weyr
Rank: Wingsecond, Dawn's Light wing
Appearance:
Height: 5'10"
Eye colour: Dark-brown
Hair colour: Dark-blonde and with tight, frizzy ringlets
Build: Wiry
Other distinguishing features: Darker skin than most, a trait common in her family
Personality:
Positive traits: Confident, Dutiful, Studious, Competitive
Negative Traits: Bumptious, Distant, Self-absorbed
As a practiced rider she is exemplary and knows all the formations by heart, to the point of automation. She is competitive and likes to put that into her leadership style to motivate her wing. While she may practice tirelessly, she encourages her Wing to train along with her, but it is never an order or expectation outside scheduled practice time. T'layo places her plague-related grief aside and channels that energy and fire into her job.
As a Wingsecond she is in charge of a group of people and sees her duty as getting to know each and understand their strengths and weaknesses. She is not the most social of people, one might even call her uptight. She tries to step outside her comfort zone to be the Good Leader to her Wing. She always feels like she has something to prove even when unnecessary, and as a result may posture a little too much. For example, she is only of average height and tends to wear heeled or platformed boots to close the gap. But she usually fraternizes with her Wing as much as she needs to, to make them feel content. Otherwise she begins to feel uncomfortable and excuses herself as soon as possible.
In her free time times she likes to spend with her remaining relatives, those who, like her, were stranded North from their home in Monaco Bay. Or she may be off studying alone.
Overall, she is difficult to get to know or even single out to chat with, and it may be fun for some more immature individuals to try to ruffle her feathers instead.
History:
Originally from a tiny Hold called Shellshoal, in the Monaco Bay region, and beholden to Paradise River Hold and Monaco Bay Weyr. She and her twin sister Temitope were born year 168, and are middle children in a large, close-knit family.
That is, they were close until she and two siblings were trapped up North when the plague began. She is without her parents and several siblings: two brothers (blue- and bronzeriders) and one non-riding sister. Her twin sister. In the wake of this catastrophe, Temitope has chosen to continue the family's small Hold, with their parents. Since travel by ship is time-consuming and costly, they rarely see one another and communicate mostly by mail.
She has with her in the North one brother, a sister, and the lover of one of her other brothers. The former's name is K'yode, he is good-natured and rides a Green named Miglaeth. Her sister, the youngest child, is a Whiterider of Natalkath. And the latter, En'il of Blue Rajnisth, she tries to console and be a good friend to but believes that ultimately it would be far less traumatic to simply move on with life. She tries to follow this belief with her twin but has found it to be just as difficult.
DragonName: Ekeneth
Age: 11 Turns
Colour: Bronze
Size: At 43' long and 13' tall, this dragon is huge. He likes to loom over weyrlings who aren't used to adult dragon sizes yet.
Build: Average build, strength, and stamina for his size, but since he is so big that it still puts him well beyond even most bronzes. His chest is deep and he could last an entire Fall were Thread to show itself in these early days. He's... almost too big for T'layo to handle. But don't tell either of them that.
Hide shade/pattern: He is a pale tan color with darker yellowy-bronze incomplete points that extend up into his shoulders and halfway up his tail and wingsails. His hands are the pale tan color. He also has a yellowy-bronze mask over his eyes.
Other distinguishing features:
Personality:
Positive traits: Playful, Competitive, Light-hearted
Negative traits: Ornery, Irresponsible, Approval-seeker
He is more of a joker, good-natured as opposed to mean. He does sometimes go too far and is one of few dragons who will apologize directly to a human, an otherwise complete stranger. If his apology is not accepted he will go out of his way to make amends, sometimes in silly ways.
As a leader, he likes to vocalize his readiness to fly and like his rider will compete lightheartedly to motivate the other dragons. He loves to fly and could do so endlessly if he was able and available.
Other: Inspiration for Ekeneth's coloration was a ferret war dance.
