His eyes would remain shut against the glass wall. The lights that dimmly lit the street would shine on the sign above him that read, 'No loitering', as his back adjusted against the side of the convenience store. His breath would lightly fall from his lips while he let his shoulders rise and fall. The young man's cover dropped over his eyes. His hand would grip tight to his belt while his jacket barely covered the holster for the revolver on his side while he slept. Many people would walk by him as his mouth let out light breaths instead of snores, though as his hand twitched, he'd feel it. His mind was being plagued with many thoughts, of the past and what it had wrought for him. His mouth furrowed. His teeth bit into his lip. The man's fingers clenched into his palm as he made a fist and his body would lightly moved up. He wouldn't hold anything before he flung his hand like he was holding a ball of something and jolted a bit forth as he panted heavily. His golden eyes would stare at his lap as he felt himself shaking. The man's body would feel the memories flowing through his mind. His hand unclenched as he pulled back his other hand to look around nervously while he steadied himself. He would see a few people looking at him, while he was disappointed to be seen like that, it wasn't something he was unaccustomed to.
The man's mouth let a slight groan out while he rose up. His feet steadied him while his hand lightly gripped upon the wall. Sakashi was his name. The patch was worn, but on his jacket's sleeve. The stagger of the man, would show his lack of strength, as his hand grazed against the window of the shop where a man on the inside would give a glare to him for touching it. Sakashi's body hobbled a bit before he stood up straight and looked over to the many people entering and exiting the establishment. The only thing on his mind at the moment was, how did he get to this location.
It was the start of her work shift, and everything was just a bit slow, at the moment. They didn’t have many customers, which for Emi, it was all fine by her. While she was comfortable with the familiarity of her family’s business, whenever the foot traffic picked up in the cafe, the large crowd of people always seemed to spike up her anxiousness. Good thing she couldn’t talk or else she would stumble on her words every time someone tried to make a food order. Emi had always used her phone to do the talking for her. It would take awhile if she were to make a long response, but with short phrases, it came in handy.
Since the cafe was quiet, the pink-haired woman decided to take a small break for now. A break for her usually just consisted of devouring sweets and listening to music. A normal routine for the anxious little mouse. Walking away from the front counter, the thicc girl made her way towards the back kitchen area to swipe a sweet treat. Her dad usually frowned upon her sweet eating habits, but he never fully stopped her. He had an extreme soft spot for her, so whatever made her happy, he’d let her do it. In the kitchen there was a little selection on the cakes, but she chose chocolate - her favorite.
Pleased with her choice, the pink squeaker shuffled her way towards the main lounging area and sat down at an empty table to enjoy the chocolatey treat to her heart’s content. The first bite brought a pleased look to the girl’s face. One of pure joy. With a soft cheerful squeak, Emi went in for another bite before she set up her headphones over her ears to start to play some music.

He closed his eyes as listened to the music via the earphones attached to one of the booths. Haruto had taken off his scarf and jacket since the place was a bit warmer than outside. Over his folded jacket was a package box wrapped in the not-so-fancy paper, tied neatly with a bow. He had been one of the people who would participate in the event; the letter containing the name of the recipient for the present was there at his doorstep, though the downside was that he hadn't met that person yet, or even knew their looks. It was up to his instinct to make sure that he would find the best present that he could find for that person alone, though there was still the chance that he would end up offending the recipient with his choice.
The gift was bought with a portion of the weekly paychecks that he received because of his job as Tasty Orange Cafe. It was nothing too fancy, though there was the personal touch granted by the craftsman who put his heart and soul into the creation. Plus, the sound was nice to hear; it was actually his third time noticing that object up close and personal. He had been five years old when he saw the creation, his mother giving that to one of her close female friends. The second time; that close friend had passed away because of cancer, when Haru was ten years old, and the lady had given the loved one the object to honor her memory. It was a sad memory, indeed.
Maybe, the recipient may end up liking it, because it was the thought that counts, but he shouldn't get his hopes up. The song ended, transitioning to another one, and Haru starting humming in tune with the lyrics.

↭Patrolling the area in search of something entertaining to partake in, enjoying the fact his day was lacking any important tasks or even missions, the black figure decided to indulge in a tour through the city doing what he loved the most, beating people up in the name of the law. Still, hours had gone by and everyone in the streets below had been behaving properly, much to his disappointment. Kicking the dirt at one of the many rooftops of the city, the Viper folded his arms and sighed, the sound muffled by a thick helmet, masked behind shades. It would be in this pose, pondering the next action, that the stomach of this elite individual would knock him into defeat, faster than a wild west bullet to the gut. 'Ya boi mad hungry...' The man thought to himself, tilting his head to the side aggressively, furrowing eyebrows beneath the somber gear. Reflecting on the subject, the answer came along with the memory of the area he was in. It was the perfect chance to meddle with people, listen to some heavy beats, and take care of that need for juicy food.
Like a true shadow, the agile athlete slid and jumped across several buildings and alleys until the desired location was close enough. Acting like a over the top cosplayer, his posture was stiff and the swag in his step was unbearable, just calmly pacing through the public without a care. Soon enough, the odd one was standing in front of the Ishii Records and Cafe building, hands inside dark pockets and tapping his feet when gazing inside the structure, analyzing all the little details and formulated perhaps unnecessary plans. After that little period of sight seeing, Eduardo came in walking with a pimping stride towards the first honey in sight, looking like the perfect type of food a soul as hungry as his would prefer, thicc and juicy. But of course, such thought was kept silent out of sheer respect for her being a thinking being exactly like himself. Still, curious to find out how to get a good meal, and not seeing a person positioned as the staff responsible for the service, the Viper approached that attractive female of formidable volume and tapped her lightly on the shoulder, his feet as quiet as a feather on the ground if anyone was to try and hear him moving. Clearly though, the male was in plain sight of most people, just not the woman in question as his route was made with the objective of not being seen by her. Once she turned to him, the male would wave as a greeting, point at there area where one serving would be with a confused body language, and then massage his stomach in circles to expose his hunger, not a word uttered in respect to her listening to music with headphones on.↭
The mute was enjoying her little break, eating cake and silently humming to the song that played through her headphones. She was practically oblivious to the outside world around her until she felt a couple taps against her shoulder. At first, she thought it was her dad trying to get her attention, but the first glance upon the figure behind her proved her wrong. This DEFINITELY wasn’t her dad. Frozen in her tracks like a deer in headlights, dark pink irises took in the being before her. Wearing dark clothing, a helmet and carried… weapons?! Was the store getting robbed?! The color left her face for a second as she tried to calm herself and her thoughts down.
” Oh no, no, no, no…! What am I supposed to give him? I don’t have a lot of cash on me. I’m broke! “ Emi’s mind raced with thoughts that were just completely out of proportion. If he was really trying to rob her, there wouldn’t be a chance that he’d just tap her on the shoulder in a calm manner. The only thing that ripped the pinky woman from her mind’s ramblings was the little game of charades that the person was playing. From the confused body language to the rubbing of the abdomen, it was easy to tell that he was, in fact, not a robber, but a weirdly dressed paying customer!
With her nervous squeaking and racing thoughts coming to a stand still, Emi took a deep breath before she went to reach for her phone with trembling hands. She had typed away for a short while before presenting the screen for the stranger to read. [ Are you looking for food? I’ll ring you up...! ] After he took the time to read the screen, she put the phone back into the pocket of her fluffy light-blue sweater and quickly scarfed down the rest of her cake before cleaning up the rest of her mess. Looks like break time was over. The nervous woman had scurried along to the back, placing her plate and fork into the kitchen sink before hurrying back towards the front, standing by the register.
Again, Emi and began to type a new message on her phone. [ Here’s the menu! Take your time. ] Picking up the small, laminated menu, she slid it over towards the helmet wearing man. She tried to best not to be nervous, but it was probably too late for that now. She was practically shaking when he had first approached her! It was a usual thing that she did, but she really wished she didn’t look like a shaking chihuahua all the time.
Music. Although it was not exactly her favorite thing in the world it was one of the things that helped her to hide her flaws. With her pretense of a normal girl without problems in hearing she would often drop by the shop that sells music records. It saddened her a bit when they said that they would be renovating. That means that she would not be able to hide there for quite a while. Of course, when the news that it opened up she thought it would be nice for her to pay it a visit but opted not to. Sometimes its better to deprive yourself from your addiction. Better for her to go checkout the other cafe and try to endulge herself with something new.

↭To the eyes hidden behind those dark shades, the helmet imposing despite the urban wear, it was clear that the woman had been alarmed by the clothing over his physical form. Hoping still for her to go with the cosplay idea, or at least something less dangerous to the imagination, the elite agent could only hope her cool would be kept throughout the situation. After all, all that he needed was some nice warm food and maybe a drink with it, gulp it down to help with processing the existence of those brave melons. Fortunately enough, the woman understood the meanings behind the strange actions of description and was amazingly the one responsible of handling clients in that Cafe. Nodding to himself slowly, the Viper observed the young chick reach out to pick up a phone and type a message down for him to see. At that moment, it was clear that she was either a mute, or overwhelmed by untamed swag. With two solid thumbs up and a raise of the shoulders to further accentuate positivity, the strange male agreed with the message and watched her go about her way to the back area after devouring a succulent looking cake. Mad hungry boy status increased.
Despite noticing her nervousism, the shaky hands cute but keeping him on alert not to do anything truly abrupt, or just off enough to amp up her fear of him, Westbank the blade tank approached the counter by the register, where the curvaceous pink bombshell stood. With an elbow on the surface, his side was turned towards her direction, ankles crossing in an extremely relaxed pose after the laminated menu had been given, following another phone text. Bobbing his skull lightly as the reading processed the menu, the options were mighty delicious, and steam could probably fog that helmet with the mouth watering at the goods. But then again, that could be blamed on the hunger eating at his insides. Taking a sweet time to decide, the elite individual would ultimately point out, literally with an index finger pressing on the menu, at the choices of a medium sized coffee cup, a strawberry cake, and six packages of cookies. Maybe it was a big order for a single person, but one had to maintain the physique, the blades were nothing in comparison to the mighty fine guns sculpted beneath those black fabrics.↭
It was finally the holidays, and in order to understand the “Christmas spirit” that people felt nowadays, the witch volunteered herself to be part of this thing called Secret Santa. What was that anyways? She had to look it up to see what it actually was. Apparently, people enjoyed a mystery gift giving event. It seemed interesting enough, so why not? Besides, maybe it would be a good way to observe different kinds of people. With the heels of her shoes clicking against the pavement, Dahlia wandered about Downtown until she stopped at the music cafe that she was supposed to meet her gift recipient. The envelope that held the person’s name was the only thing she had to go on - a stranger’s name. Dahlia had no clue what this mystery being was supposed to look like, but perhaps that was part of the strange fun?
Pushing through the glass doors of the cafe, silver orbs took in the new environment. A really modern styled decor. Music booths and small tables to enjoy a sweet treat. It was oddly charming in its own way, the witch supposed. ” Alright… Now where is this person? “ She walked around a bit aimlessly, silver locks swaying with each step with a large macaron box in her hands. It was a bit difficult trying to find the right gift for such a stranger, so Dahlia simply went the food route. Hopefully they weren’t allergic to almonds. The french desserts were colorful and had a variety of flavors. Some floral, some fruity, and others the basic flavors of vanilla, chocolate, and pistachio. It was a bit expensive for the box in whole, but financially, that was no problem for the rich witch.
In her aimless walking, she stumbled upon an individual who was listening through some strange headgear. Was that what people called “headphones”? Peculiar… Without a moment to lose, Dahlia made a quick stride over to the being, tapping their shoulders a few times to gain their attention. Delicate hands held up the letter with the name “Haruto Mashima”. ” Is this you? “

The buxom pink mute tried to best to not be so fidgety and nervous looking, but being someone who was riddled with anxiety was tough. She had to give herself props, though. Everyday she seemed to get more accustomed to new people little by little. Maybe that’s why her dad placed her as a cashier in order for her to face her fears and try to be a bit more independent. The woman twiddled her thumbs a bit sheepishly as she had patiently waited for the shadowy-clad man to make his decision. With rose colored eyes curiously peering towards the menu she gave him, she was surprised to see that he wanted a pretty big order! Man, what kind of beastly stomach did this swaggy dude have? Could he really eat that much? Well… honestly she shouldn’t even speak on his appetite when hers was no better. She could put away a whole cake, no problem! The only thing was that she was trying to limit her cake eating so she could lose weight. Emi was a rather chubby girl - a sign that she ate and was fed really well. But even so, having such a curvy frame was a bit of a pain in the a**. The random back pain, to having a hard time finding clothes that fit right, and then just the downright obnoxious stares from people were a bit grating, to say the least. Embarrassing…
Watching the man’s index finger point to different parts of the menu, Emi followed along as best as she could, pressing the appropriate buttons on the cash register touch-screen. Thinking on it now… This was A LOT of sugar that this dude was consuming! Despite having such a massive hunger, it didn’t seem like he was on the chunky side like she was. It was difficult to really gauge the fitness level of him since his jacket and - hopefully fake - weapons on him. Boy, maybe she should really try to find a gym…
After ringing everything up, Emi pointed to the small screen that was in front of the man, showing a grand total of $13.50. Once the payment was made, the order was sent back towards the kitchen area where it would pop up on their screen. Even though the transaction was completed, the pink-haired girl didn’t really shuffle to her usual hiding spot in the back this time. She was more fixated on the katanas that he had wielded onto his back. With her head tipped to the left side, the pink one raised an eyebrow as she studied them a bit. Was that a new fashion trend now? Without even thinking much, Emi pointed to them while still looking more like a confused pup. What was the deal with them? Maybe he just liked dressing up as some modern day ninja.
The childish voice was still soft as the recipient resumed humming, though he swept the gaze to the employee who was attending to the male who may also be another customer like him. He was about to resume enjoying the music when another female approached him, tapping on his shoulder. Haruto pushed the headphones down gently, the accessory now latching onto his neck and shoulders, as the crossdresser took in the features of the lady, the letter with his name attached shown as proof that the female stranger was also taking part of the event. As much as Haruto hated being interrupted, she deserved his attention, so he smiled and rummaged for the letter containing the name that would possibly belong to the recipient, hidden under the gift box, showing the content to the lady as well.

"So this means you will be receiving my present later? How neat," he chuckled, putting the letter down on the surface of the booth. "Yep, that's me, alright. Plus, this place may be good for us to do our little activity for the event, though I am sure that we are not the only ones who will be having fun with the holiday cheer." He stopped the music with the few taps of the buttons; the rest of the solo caroling with the rest of the available Christmas songs in the playlist would wait. "For now, we should get something on the menu while getting to know each other more. Do you prefer coffee or tea? My treat for today." Indeed, Haru was in the mood to be hospitable; his job had taught him to be spread the good deed.

↭Chillaxing to the maximum with the outfit of an urban jutsu master, the black clad individual kept an watchful eye on the screen right in front of himself, the numbers counting up to the number he had mentally calculated, a cost most cheap if the food was as superb as his taste buds desired them to be. Even if the tastiest thing were them melons, to respect helen was the most important thing, and since his face was a question mark in most people's lives, the idea that life would go on as lonely as usual was fierce, and unfortunately all too real. To the payment Viper had to own up to, yet another double thumbs up was summoned to the pink haired woman, her delicate complexion still visibly affect by his presence, albeit not as much as that brain expected from someone who was initially shaking to a certain point after getting caught off guard by literally the shadiest customer. Funny though, would be the next action, her finger directing at his blades suddenly while a puzzled looked reigned upon that sweet face. To press those cheeks together to make pouty lips would probably melt steel beams out of sheer adorability.
Reaching behind his back, over the shoulder, to take hold of one handle, the masked male gripped it firmly for a second before chuckling, removing the grasp and using both hands to form letters, one by one, in front of the silent cutey. Doing his best to create the letters with his hands and fingers, Eduardo formed the word 'F A K E', despite how difficult it might've been to understand it all. From afar, it would probably just look like this dark suspect was throwing random gang signs to an innocent lady behind the register, with him standing there menacingly. If it wasn't for her body language, as calm as one could be, it would likely offer a tough situation to the strange man. By the end of it, slightly ashamed, the Westbank scratched the shades of his helmet and chuckled, visibly with the shoulder movement above all else. He could've said something, but to whip out a mechanical, walkie talkie like voice suddenly on a unsuspecting mute chick would be too hard at that moment. Maybe later, for shizz and gigles.↭
” Fake? They’re just props? “ Pinky head thought as her eyes peered back over to them once more. Anxiety made her have her doubts, but at the same time, how was she supposed to know a real one from a fake? Sure, there were some really cheap looking toy swords around the block, but maybe this guy actually paid good money for something to just add to his modern ninja aesthetics. Speaking of which: why was he dressed like a futuristic shinobi? With her head slowly tilting even further to the side, an even more quizzical look was blossoming onto her face. Taking in the fact that his gear looked pretty damn real, and along with the fact that she hadn’t even seen how his face looked… things were a oddly suspicious.
Emi was stuck in her own puzzling thoughts when she heard the ding of the order bell from the kitchen area. Almost instantly, the pink-haired cutie patootie jumped up in surprise. Her once questioning and curious face expression quickly turned into that of a frantic rabbit. ” Oh…! “ In a flash, she turned on her heels and darted back to where the sketchy ninja boi’s food was waiting. She was just in a hurry that she nearly tripped halfway there like the clumsy woman she was. The moment she got to the table where the baker put the food down at, she could see the bit of judgment on their face. ” Order up! …and try not to drop this time… again… “ Okay, she might’ve been a clumsy oaf, but she definitely didn’t fall and drop food ALL the time… it was probably like 3 out of 6 of her shifts - so half!
Giving out a silent grunt of disapproval, with a small pout on her face, she picked up the tray for the darkened ninja and carefully made her way over. Her eyes glanced down at her feet every now and then to make sure she wouldn’t trip on anything, ya know… like air. Air was such a tricky thing for her feet sometimes. Luckily for her, Emi wouldn’t have to suffer the consequences of going through sheer embarrassment this time. For once, she actually made it all the way back to the counter without dropping or spilling a single thing! A new record for her!
↭The black ninja remained frozen in his position as the girl seemed to analyze his physical form with curious eyes, the head tilting lightly even just to express more how deep the thoughts were going. The male figured that despite maintaining a profile as low as possible, the uncontrollable swag oozing from that fine gear and supreme clothing would make people question his existence right there. No matter, the pep in his step was sufficient to fit in, or so Westbank believed. All those thoughts faded rapidly as the voluptuous cutie turned around and somewhat bolted to the back area. It was barely, but there was the chance to see from the corner the female almost trip on raw air. There was a 'women be trippin' 'joke inside his head somewhere, but it was kept silent, out of honest respect for the opposite sex.
Then, happily with a slight jump, barely lifting the heels from the ground, the elite one observed the marvelous fruit bearer return with the lovely food. Against his very instincts, the hidden eyes kept a watchful gaze on the lady as she semed extremely focused on every step taken, and with each of them, the whole body moved along, meaning bouncy bouncy the plate was arriving. Shaking his head briefly, and gently, Viper looked down at the tray and began to stuff his pockets with his own hands, searching for a wallet, lost in the many areas of that outfit that could contain a weapon or tool. After a second or two of searching and patting himself, the thug-o no jutsu summoning that was Eduardo pulled out a common black wallet with a snake engraved in it. Pulling out twenty bucks, the male handed the money at breast level, placing the other free hand on the food tray, out of habit. For a second, he thought like a man and pondered the idea of asking for a number, but at the same time, some as thicc would probably get hit on a lot. And above all else, his face was almost a mystery to his own momma now, so how would a chick interact with him? Maybe BDSM fans, but that business was as far from his tastes as rap music is far from southern country tunes. Plus, there was little hope that this beautiful goddess of divine curves would dig that stuff. Fortunately so.↭
Initially, Dahlia was just expecting to swap gifts and leave, but maybe a small sit down and a chat wouldn’t be too bad. She might actually be able to learn something from the newer generation, perhaps. With the stranger’s gift in her hands, the mirror witch simply gave a slight nod of the head before opening her mouth to speak. ” Well, if you’re offering, then I would like some tea. Any kind of fine for me. Thank you. “ Her voice was a bit monotone, but she honestly did appreciate the kind gesture. Was it normal for people to be so generous for strangers nowadays, or was it just because it was the start of the holiday season? Either that, or Haruto was just a naturally kind person all together.
As the two made their way up to the counter to order their drinks and some snacks, silver orbs locked onto the individual besides her. ” So, Haruto. Have you been in the city long? I’ve just recently moved here and I’m still trying to get a good grip of things here. “ Her eyes soon scanned the rest of the building, taking in the atmosphere as well as the unfamiliar faces that seemed to relax in this little musical cafe. ” I feel so behind… “ Dahlia muttered softly with a doll-like emotionless face. The kind of environment that she was in now was a complete 180 compared to her old life. Old being the key term here. If one were to compare Dahlia to today's youth, she would have definitely been considered a grandma from her choice of activities and sometimes in the way that she had carried herself. Perhaps it was time to try to be a bit more adventurous.
