- Quests are the main way of earning currency in the world of Sende. Quests are distributed by player characters and non-player characters. Player characters issued quests will typically be more rewarding for various reasons when compared to non-player-character issued quests. This is to promote more player character interactions and good old fun! Every quest will be random, but NPC issued quests will always be there in case there is a lull in PC issued quests. On special occasions quests may be issued to move the story or on certain days. More details below.
▐ ⋮ Non-Player-Character [NPC] Quests
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- NPC quests, while being random, will be always available for PC's to complete. These include simple fetch quests such as to go fetch five chopped logs for a fire. With a reward being either a set amount of currency or an item in return for the labor. More than one character can accept the same quest at a time and groups of characters can do this as well. Some NPC quests may vary between the Kingdoms to accommodate either terrain or what the majority is in Races. For example Cre'aldh may have more quests available for Harpies as flight may be needed to complete the quest.
▐ ⋮ Player Character [PC] Quests
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Like with NPC quests PC quests are entirely random in both content and rewards. The difference being that all characters involved are included in the Roleplay. Only one PC Quests can be handled at one time per character. Basically you can't have five different PC quests going on even if they lead to the same place. These quests can be completed with one or more characters, which includes the character issuing the quest in the first place. These quests can include anything from fetch quests to hunting a small monster. These quest may not include hunting anything big enough to destroy a small home unless brought to the attention of the Ruler of that Kingdom and approved by the Ruler. A PC can issue a quest by replying to the notice boards found in each kingdom. Once a quest has been accepted by one or more character it can begin in the roleplay.
Rewards can vary in PC quests, but the character who issued the quest in the first place must have an item or a fair amount of currency to provide as a reward already on them. No pulling rabbits out of hats in here please. If the reward is not given once the quest is complete then the character who issued the quest is now in danger of being jailed for up to a IRL week. The special thing about PC quests is that they will always reward Development points. These are points that go into the development of your character and those involved with the quest. This is to promote fun within the roleplay, these points are explained in detail in the post below.
▐ ⋮ Special Quests
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Special Quests are different kinds of both PC and NPC quests. They can be issued by either, but generally only last one week. Player Character's who wish to issue a special quest must take it up with the Ruler of their Kingdom before it can be issued. This is incase the quest happens in a town or destories landscape in someway. Otherwise Special Quests are guildwide events to push the story along, holiday events, or Kingdom specific events. Story Quests will only happen once every few months, or if the guild (mods and members alike) agree that its time to enter the next phase of the story.
Holiday quests are just as they sound. They appear on Holidays such as Halloween or April's Fools Day. Or during a change in both the guild and in real life, seasons. These quests are usually themed around the Holiday and give special items, large amounts of currency, or Development Points for characters. Items given out for these quests are themed to the quest and are generally going to role-play items only. Meant for fun.
Story quests. Quests that push the story from one stage and into the next. These quests are only given out when the majority of the guild is in agreement that it's time to move on. This is because these quests may involve time-skips, destruction of objects or places, or could endanger Player Characters in some way. Story quests may not have rewards if it is felt that they are not needed. If for some reason a Player Character's owner is not present or unable to have a say in when and where a Story Quest happens and it directly affects they're role-playing in some way they can take it up with a Crew Member or the Captain to see what can be done about it.
Monster quests are fun! The crew promises that~! Monster quests are typically issued randomly and last for two weeks or longer. They deal the same rewards as holiday quest but items are typically themed towards the quests. Monster quests typically involve the slaying or scaring off a monster or creature that threatens a Kingdom or town. The number of monsters vary from quest to quest. And they must always be completed in two - four man groups. If more than four player characters wish to complete a quest together please be aware the rewards must be split happily between every character. Rewards for these quests will include both currency and two or items that must be split between the characters evenly and without argument.
