So, I am posing this question -- whether a similar occurrence has happened to any of our Full Closet members -- at any time, has your current saved avatar not caught up with Gaia's digital script, so your old avatar is displayed on your profile, instead?
I have posted an example of what I mean, under the spoiler tag (so not to stretch this forum posting.)

Well, my profile avatar -- the one I want to face the Gaia world with -- still has not changed, even though I keep re-saving my current avatar -- hoping that this might speed the process of change. Obviously the image cache is not set -- when I checked out my avatar image on Google, I found copies of my post-Easter avatar with MANtis. Actually, I prefer this older particular avatar over the one frozen on my Gaia profile -- by miles! All for now ~VSC.

So, being stuck with a silly avatar on my profile page is obviously part of my Gaia reality these days.
And to think I created it to show off the nuttiness of the Spinami Wheel for granting me so many VERGE items. For this, I blame that vain little dog -- [NPC] Notorious P.U.G. I never really trusted that VERGE shopkeeper and owner of his elitist VERGE guild.

Well, Full Closet friends, it has happened! HUZZAH! So just as Stephen Colbert is showing his enthusiasm, so am I!
So, take a peek from under the spoiler tag, to share my amazement, that my Gaia profile finally reflects my current avatar image. Kudos ~VSC

Oh my, what a saga. I don't think that has ever happened to me, but I'm on my profile so rarely, I wouldn't know if it updated in a timely manner or not. I'm glad to see yours finally caught up to you. ^^

Well, I'm back posting in this thread, because Gaia still hasn't caught up with updating my profile avatar, even though threads that I've posted in show my latest avi change with the equipped Astra: Fire Void Butterflies. 
I'm not too disappointed, as this is not a major avatar change -- but I kind of like the look of Fire Void Butterflies fluttering around me. Feeds my ego, quite nicely. xD

I do wonder as to why your profile avi takes so long to reflect your outfit changes. Maybe this is one of those CSS vs Old School profile issues. Some of the new style profiles take a little longer to update, but, on that same token, some times the old school profiles don't update either. Hmmmm
