Pyrophanite hadn’t expected to get a new recruit under his belt so soon. With Harmotome right now, Pyro kind of considered him oddly lucky. And unlucky. He got a cool new cheetoh b***h, but also she annoyed the ******** out of him.
And he also had Hauyne as a partner. They were the best partner. So Pyro was really blessed with all these great things. Hauyne brought in a new recruit, and Pyro was excited to meet them because basically they were gonna be a new trio.
As he walked in, his gaze landed on a HOT female figure shape. Sweet, a grin spread over his face.
“Yo newbie!”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stillwaterite had been examining things in the office she’d been directed to wait in. With everything being so new and with a lack of a personal foundation to go on, she went along with the flow with ease. She couldn’t help but wonder something though. She was an eternal, so why was she being assigned to someone? Couldn’t she be left to her own devices, as long as she did what was expected of her? Hm.
She didn’t press too hard on the thought for now as she sensed and heard someone coming. A signature she hadn’t felt before, and when the young man appeared, the senshi turned to greet him. Upon catching sight of him, she couldn’t help this sudden sense of panic and...fear?...that squeezed her gut upon looking at him. Just as quickly as it rolled in like a rushing tide, it rolled back out though. Fleeting. Like a fragment of something. That had happened when she ‘woke up’ at the Stables that one morning too, and had seen the Machine and the others who were there. She brushed it off, and a wide smile replaced her curious expression as she raised a hand to the General in greeting, heels clicking on the floor as she approached him with ease.
“Yo!” She greeted in return cheerfully. “Best newbie you could ask for, I imagine. Fully locked and loaded but just need to be taught the ropes.” The hand she had raised lowered to hold out to him to shake, as she took in the features of his face with rapt fascination. “The name’s Stillwaterite!”
------------------------------
Pyro waited. AND THEN HE STARED. And then he waited, and then his grin spread. Like Hauyne, it looked like another senshi hit the bricks. Looked like captain stupid and her little russian toy had been ousted. And Altais couldn’t be on Baewatch all the time. He could tell Sedna’s voice from anywhere. What a delicious irony.
“Too long, gonna call you Captain or Still.” He reached out, taking the hand. “Welcome to the negaverse, Cool you’re a eternal and what not.” He didn’t know what quite to say. “You remember anything of your past life or whatever?”
------------------------------
Stillwaterite blinked as she stared back at him. His expression screamed that he was amused at some kind of inside joke she wasn’t aware of. There was a moment of silence in which she was about to prompt him what was up, but he spoke soon enough. “Oh?” The senshi was amused. “Sounds good!” Still, huh? That had a nice little ring to it on its own. She gave his hand a firm shake, noting that is was cool to the touch. “Not really, no.” She replied honestly. “Should I?” Her tone was casual, but him asking had her wondering…
“What do I call you, hm?”
-------------------------------
“Probably not.” He shrugged before taking it back, “I’m Pyrophanite, Pyro for short. General if you feel formal or whatever, but I don’t really care. Since you’re under my care though…” Pyro grinned, “Let’s start you with the good stuff. How’s your teleporting skills?”
----------------------------
Oh, his name was a mouthful, too. “Pyro it is, then.” She replied, grinning lightly, and listening attentively.
“Not too shabby so far.” She replied with an easy confidence. “I got it down pat, and can land pretty close to where I want.” Honestly when she found out she could teleport, she wore herself out just trying it out, but found she had a knack for landing where she wanted to be. “I read the manual, I got the general run down but I need the advice from someone who’s been around a while.” She smiled at him. “Got that for me?”
-------------------------
“I gotta a lot of stuff, but I’m not just gonna take you on because they said so.” Pyro shrugged, “You gotta prove yourself you know? Impress me? Why should I take on a young padawan? Why you and not someone else?” Pyro shook his head.
“Come with me child, I will show you da wei.” He took their hand, teleporting them to his favorite spot. 7 Eleven. The store was closed, oddly enough, probably cause it was the wee hours of the morning and late hours of the night.
“Alright. Teleport in and steal the cash drawer.” he waited, “And a bag of cheetohs and a monster energy drink.” He pretended to look at his wrist. “15 seconds to do it all.”
-----------------------
She almost wanted to laugh. In the read she was getting from him in their short time together though, she could tell he was proud of his station and exercising it. For sure. What motivated her to play along was the thought of Machine. She wanted to do well for them, and if that meant humoring Pyro, then she’d go for it.
Still took in her surroundings curiously once they appeared, but zeroed in on the dark 7 Eleven as he told her what her assignment was. She gave a thoughtful hum, and took a quick sweep of it. Registers were usually by the door, drinks were usually in the back, and chips were somewhere in the middle. The senshi didn’t bother waiting for him to say go as her form flickered out of sight. A few seconds at the front, a few seconds at the middle, and just a few more in the back.
Within the 15 seconds, Still appeared in front of Pyro, a bag of cheetohs in one hand, and the cash register drawer balancing on her hip with her other hand. In addition to the cash, there were quite a few flavors of Monster also balancing in the drawer.
“I grabbed one of each flavor since you didn’t specify.” She told him cheerfully.
------------------------
Pyro rubbed his chin as she appeared.
“Good.” He turned on his heel, grabbing her shoulder and teleporting them to another place, this time, it had a small group of people. He could see 4 or 5 of the heat signatures inside. Now he opened a bag of cheetohs, munching on some.
“Kill them inside.” He smiled at her, “Whoever, or whatever they are.”
-----------------------
They were off again, and Still tilted her head at the new place he brought her to, surveying once more. As he issued these set of orders, the corrupt eternal paused, a brow rising, and turned to look at him instead. She shifted the cash register with the money and Monsters on her hip.
“Why?”
Because getting tested didn’t mean blindly following orders---and for some reason, the thought of ripping their starseeds without a valid reason made her uncomfortable.
