In a world where your magic is based on what month you were born in, Birthstone Island was home to most of the newest generation of magic users. Each child was to go farm their very own gemstone to help them harness the powers they were born with. Other places in the world were not as in tune to magic and in turn, lived without it.
One girl, was born on the mainland to a family who had once migrated from Birthstone Isle. She was blind, and therefor rendring her life very difficult, especially since she was being denied the chance to use magic as an aid. Crystal, born of the month of April, decided it was enough when she turned seventeen and moved out against her family's wishes. She took the ferry to her family's former residence and took a deep breath as she stepped onto land. Although she couldn't see, she could sense the energy all around her, calling to her soul. The white haired girl smiled and she took out her cane and proceeded to explore.

A July born boy , named Leo has be living on birthstone isle for about 17 years now. In his trials to master the powers of his magic , he had come across the problem of never having time for others. With this in mind he went into a spiraling depression causing great stress in his life that would effect his ability to keep control of his magic.

Crystal used her cane to feel around where she was going, being she'd never been on the island before, she had no idea where anything was so she had to rely on her ears and other heightened senses. She felt a dreading feeling after trying to find the town, wandering in the grassy area near the port, and stopped moving. She didn't hear anything yet so she knew she wasnt by the town. "Oh great...where the heck am I going?" She mumbled to herself, and put on a pair of old glasses. They didn't really help her much but it did make things a little more clear. The white haired girl looked around, confused, and decided to follow the large ammount of magic energy she felt, leading her into a blurry red object which she didn't notice until she bumped into it, realizing it was human. "Oh! I'm sorry."

After being interrupted while training his magic , Leo turned to see who has been the cause of the act ; "Well hello madame" he said excitingly. "Where are you from? ; as i have surely never seen you around here before." After glimpsing at the stranger's eyes he finally realized she was blind. "Also if i may ask ; why are you wearing glasses if you can't see?

Crystal blinked her sightless eyes and looked up at the "face" of the blurry individual. Her cheeks flushes red as her expression changed to worry. "I-I'm sorry to bother you...I just arrived by ferry and I don't know how to get to town..." She heard his inquiry about her glasses and she blushed even further. "Th-they help a little bit...I can at least tell that you're tall, and I'm going to guess that you're born of july due to the coloring of your hair..." Her gentle voice showed a slight tint of fear of the unknown. The blind girl averted her eyes and fiddled with her cane as she wish she knew what else to say. This was the first person she had spoken to other than the ferryman and her family. She could sense a slight comanding tone from the boy in front of her, but she felt he wasn't trying to be frightning at all.
She bit her lip and looked right at him, if her eyes could see she'dbe looking right into his red irises. She reached her hand up and touched his face, feeling out each part of it gently and timidly. She then let her hand fall to her side, after tucking some stray hair behind his ear, running her fingers through his red locks, and tracing them down his chest. Crystal smiled shyly and looked at his face with her white irises. "You...are handsome...strong jaw...but..." Her eyes closed and she took a step back as if only just noticing how abrupt she was being.

Leo was astounded by the sightless girls actions but was not offended because of it. "I am Leo and my magic is mostly fire oriented. I'll lead you to the town and don't worry if it gets dark as i know a little magic trick that will light up the night. Leo abruptly grabbed a hold of the girls hand an started to head towards town with her. As Leo walked the white eyed girl to the town he mumbled to her "Not everyone here is nice so if you have any trouble just call me ; i'll be their in the flicker of a flame.
