Reizhal is a demon prince who rules his own kingdom in Hell. He is feared by most other kingdoms but kind to those whom serves him. His parents are still around the castle every now and then but mostly do their own thing now.

{Forgive me for being a bit more plainclothes.}

Elliot sighed as he took a deep gulp of his tea, grimacing at the horridly bitter taste. But he needed the focus for what he planned to do today. He had convened with his summons teacher on all his failed past attempts, but all the answers came back to the fact he didn't have a handle on his dark magic. The only teacher of dark magic, though, were demons and those who convened with them. So in an act of desperation, he spent the past month channeling and empowering his holy properties and nearly drowning himself in tea brewed from flowers meant to boosts one's magic force.

It wasn't like he was in a hurry to catch up to his classmates, but the lack of a pact partner meant there were certain lessons he could not complete as he could not cast certain mid-to-high level spells. With a desire to further his training in mind, he meticulously drew the most advanced summoning circle he could find in the library. It was also the old-fashioned kind, meaning that it almost covered the entire floor of the summoning room, and it was big enough to fit a full grown dragon inside.

With a triumphant smile, Elliot downed the rest of his tea, gave another grimace, then took his place in the circle. Within the smaller, sacrifice/offering circles, he placed a slice of cake he baked earlier that day, a picture of his pet snake, and a small bottle of his own blood. Channeling deep within his holy magic, he charged the circle with his energy. Unfortunately, his method of increasing his holy properties also had the opposite effect. His strong light also cast a great shadow, mirroring the circle and corrupting it.

Elliot instantly knew something was wrong when he felt more power flowing out of him than what he put it. He wondered if it was because of the type of circle that he had used, but shouldn't be the source of the energy drain. His eyes widened as he saw the circle turn red. No, no, no, not a demon! Please, anything but a demon! Knowing he had messed up royally, he tried to reign in his magic and stop feeding it, but his dark magic had completely taking over by devouring his holy magic to make itself stronger.

He was pushed back by a wave of power as the circle opened up a portal, devouring his offerings and letting the demon through. As he gazed upon the demon's form, it introduced itself. "Great, this is...this is fantastic! Not only did I summon a demon, it happened to be one of THE GREAT DEMON PRINCES!" Elliot started laughing before breaking down in sobs. He just brought a demon into the heart of the academy. He'd be lucky if they just expelled him and sealed his magic altogether.

A thought came over Elliot that maybe, just maybe, having an emotional breakdown in a room with a demon was not a smart thing to do. Another part being that he was technically a grown man acting like a teenager learning that emotions and the human body were more complex than they would want. Taking a few deep breaths to calm his mind and steady his spirit, he stood up to get a closer look at this demon he summoned.

Okay, let's lay out what's going on here. I have currently have a dangerously high level demon before me and that is very bad. However, the good news is that this room he can not leave because of the particular circle I use to prevent any caught spirit from running...if it worked the way it was supposed to. Elliot sighed, running a hand through his shoulder-length red hair. It wasn't straight like the demon's, instead being curly and resembling flames. "Tch. None of this would happen if not for my stupid dark magic!" He complained. "I apologize for bringing you out of your realm. That was not my intention."

Elliot kept an eye on the demon as he wandered around the room. He knew he couldn't just dismiss the demon with the amount of power he put into it. He needed to let it do its work so he could banish it properly, but what sort of thing was safe to ask for? A noise caught his attention as the demon began to spoke. "This was supposed to summon a strong spirit, not a demon." He wasn't surprised that the demon prince could since his powers. "And now you've gone and answered why you're here."

With a heavy sigh, Elliot decided that what happens will happen. There was no undoing what had transpired. "I have both types of magic, correct. You must be the youngest..." He said out loud, looking down at the circle. "This was supposed to call upon someone who had knowledge of both. If I did all this correctly, which I did, then that means...I must be in dire straits." He rubbed the back of his neck. Well, it's not exactly bad for a exorcist to have a demon partner, just...normally there's a spirit to balance them out first. But I already can control my light magic so...

Elliot straightened up as he got an idea. "You...said your name is R-Reizhal Szess?" He then walked up and held his hand out. "You ate my sacrifices so I'm curious, would you like to make a pact with me?"

Elliot sighed, lowering his hand as it seemed the demon wanted some answers first. "Well, it's not my light magic that I need help with." He informed. There was no point in hiding the core truths. Things like magic and the like were obvious to creatures who lived surrounded by it. Though, he wondered why the demon kept wandering around the room.

At the listing of a condition, he tensed, worried about what sort of trouble he was about to get into. If he gave away he was an exorcist... No, he couldn't say it yet. He had put all his energy into the summoning just now and was in no condition to really be fighting someone so powerful off. Though it wasn't as if he was strong enough at his full strength regardless without a pact partner. "This...is my house." He admitted carefully. "I am training to control my powers, but all knowledge of dark magic has been lost to all but demons. As such, I've only been able to train my light powers. However, without a pact partner, there was only so much that I could do on my own." He ran a head through his hair, scratching his head slightly. "Every month for the past 10 years, I've tried appealing to different spirits to help me control myself and get stronger. And I've been turned down...all 119 times. Since I'm not a kid anymore, my dark magic has gotten...out of hand and now no spirit dares to come near out of fear of being 'devoured by the monster' that is me."

He crossed his arms, daring to look Reizhal in the face. "You said it yourself, I was 'screaming' for help. I just didn't expect that the one the circle would bring me was a demon."

Elliot watched the demon's face carefully, even if that was futile since demon's had notoriously good poker faces. All the same, spying the hints of a smile sent a chill up his spine. "Very well. With this handshake, we'll be bound together as one." Reaching out, he took the demon's hand, being mindful of the long nails.

The circle beneath them glowed, signifying a pact being made. As it disappeared from the ground, the mark of their pact would appear somewhere on both of their body. At the same time, Elliot could feel his dark magic settling down, as if being subdued. It was an unfamiliar sensation and wondered if it was supposed to feel like that.
