That title says it all. As a member of this great fishing guild, I would like to hear some tales and throwbacks of what brought people to fishing and the reasons they've stayed, or even have come back to it. I'll start things off here. It's only fair to do so. x3

As a more recent member of Gaia (let alone fishing), I don't have many tales to tell. I can however say that I use to fish a lot irl and missed it a bunch, seeing as there isn't much time to do so. (Plus I no longer live near a lake) But I digress.

When I found out about fishing on Gaia, I was rather excited. I could finally do something that I enjoyed that was just relaxing for me. As per the usual, I was a total noob and had no idea how fishing worked exactly. At some point I looked into a few mechanics and was able to fish Bassken rather decently. Then came the challenge of my life, which was Durem. Me and an old friend of mine decided to try it out... only to fail at catching just about everything. I remember us raging in call and betting one another who could catch their first fish. But it was fun and made my experience with the game that much more enjoyable. Hopefully all of you enjoyed that little bit of ramble, and maybe post one of your own for old times sake.

Gaia and I go way back to 2009, when I first joined under my friend's account. She constantly talked about Gaia, and loved how not many people knew about it at the time. Eventually, I created an avatar and was ridiculously confused on how the community worked. My first ever game I played was the jigsaw puzzle, but I quickly realized I couldn't play that all day. So, I found fishing BUT ironically I realized how much I sucked using only a basic fishing rod and poor me knew nothing about an Angel rod or even a rod plus.

So, after a good hour I was frustrated in Bass'ken and quit. Around two years ago, I made a new account of my own and thought I'd take up fishing again. However, I made the same errors and quit after a good 5 minutes. Not until August of this year did I truly start actually enjoying the game, so I began to practice periodically. I know it may seem silly but perfect practice makes perfect.

Although, it was much more than getting my first guppy in Bass'ken. Today, I meet new people on a daily basis chatting away in "fish chats" as I call them. This guild wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my new friends encouraging me to start a guild that has become something much larger than myself.

This is my Gaia fishing experience and I hope it only continues from here smile

My first account was in 2009. I've played a few buckets here and there, but didn't really get into it until recently.
I was bored about a week ago and decided to check out the old gaia flash games. Fishing was the one I liked the most.

Joined back '04/'05, fishing was fun an honestly one of the few ways for instant messaging on here. Got to fish with friends and keep in constant contact while doing so. Ye olde days were fun.

I suck at fishing in real life. crying Ive fished in many ponds and some lakes and everyone ells always catch a ton but i always had bad luck at catching anything.

My first account was in '04, this one in '05. The only tales of fishing for me were really just how large the fishing community used to be.
I remember when the angel/demon servers would both be full and you'd have to constantly refresh and hope for someone to leave a room.
I remember being excited to see one of my favorite fisher's rooms and when different colored text was available for the chats.
It was awesome, it still is awesome. Even at 25 now I still find it so relaxing and enjoyable and it's just a simple game.
I hope Gaia adds more fish or some more craftable items to help it grow more.

I can't remember when I originally joined gaia, :O I've been through too many accounts and fail to trace back to the original. I'm assuming 2005-2006. I started fishing when fishing was a useless excuse to talk to friends. Over the years, I've come and gone, but always ended up back for the same reasons, the people <3

I guess one of the things I'm fondest of is when I met a friend while fishing in Bassken, and he convinced me (after some time) to give Durem a try. I fished almost a solid day before completing my first bucket. We got some good laughs out of it, and since, I always come back to fishing when I'm gone. I've met some of the most interesting people, friends, and had some of the oddest conversations you could imagine o.o Everything from intellectual debates to ridiculously hilarious bantering. Dunno, I love people. It suits me well smile
