Megumi’s true personality can be hard to distinguish, as she often reveals very little of herself. She seldom speaks and tends to prefer her own company over that of other people’s. Having spent so many years in solitude, she may have just grown accustom to being by herself, in comparison to her younger days where she constantly demanded company. Despite her apparent standoffish-ness, she is far from being cold. Underneath her silent and somewhat intimidating exterior, she actually isn't that bad of a person. Her sense of humor can be described as dry and cynical, a trait she had developed later in life. Apart from the changes she's experienced over the years, Megumi has still retained her tendency for the ditsy, airheaded moments she was notorious for as a child. She is loyal to those she identifies as her friends, though now keeps very few. She’s become skilled in concealing her emotions and appearing indifferent, even if she feels the exact opposite. Megumi often wishes to return to the way she was when she was younger—to be carefree, outgoing, and confident once again.

NEW SHITE:
How'd her face get like that?
⯀ some man [ominous music] who was in love with her wanted her affections, but was rejected cause he was a creep and she isn't into the d, so he ******** up her face out of spite and because he has a small d**k. he is later bodied.
I kinda want her relationship with enenra to be a little better and more symbiotic. no pandoras box shite this time. so maybe she becomes possessed by it in a different way? she wasn't a part of the inner circle like some of her clan is who gets access to enenra tho.
maybe she is hurt really bad by creepydude, and enenra saves her by possessing her body? maybe she uses it for vengeance against him? maybe he unleashes enenra, hoping it would help him or attack her, and instead it uses her to kill him since it was ANGY. or while trying to escape him, one of them accidentally frees enenra and it possesses megumi.
OKAY. i have an idea
so enenra isn't imprisoned, but like, inhabits a lake near the small village the hisakawas are at. the inner circle communes with it n s**t and it has a fondness for them, though it is picky about who is allows to tap into its powers. the alliance began years n years ago when someone tried to snatch enenra to use for themself against its will, but some hisakawa person stopped that from happening. the yokai then enhanced this person's bloodline ability, and from then on those who the yokai selected to be worthy of its power would receive the same.
so then there's megumi. she was maybe late teens at the time. she had received a little training in combat as a means of self defense, but wasn't necessarily a warrior or whatever. her father arata was an important person who had received enenra's gift and would help conduct the ritual for others. megumi would never be considered for it, since she wasn't a fighter, but she knew the tale and was familiar with enenra, as most of her clan was. some had encountered the creature before, tho megumi had more often since her dad spent more time around it.
over the past few years, young women in the area would occasionally go missing, with some being found dead with their faces all ******** up in various ways. meanwhile, there was a guy about megumi's age that everyone kinda knew as the town creep. he wasn't threatening, just awkward and he had a habit of stalking girls. he had been fixated on megumi for a while, but since she lived within close-knit proximity to her family, he never really followed her around as much, fearing them. it wasn't until one day, after being creepy to her and her friends for a while, she told him to staaaahp. he then got all triggered.
megumi was tasked with going out to the lake to bring enenra offerings one evening, which she did. however, creepydude had been stalkin and saw the opportunity to attack her while she was alone. so, he did. he came at her with a knife and slashed her face on both sides, going on about nobody would love her now that she was uggo. some if I can't have you no one can shite. after forcing her to look at her gross face, he then attempted to kill her by drowning. once she stopped moving, he left. enenra, however, saw this go down and managed to revive megumi as she was on the cusp of death and merging with her. after a few days of being missing, megumi and enenra reappeared with vengeance. late at night, megumi turned to mist and went through the cracks of his door as he slept. drawing a knife, she cut his face in the same way before shanking him to death. missing and assumed to be another victim of the lady killings that had been happening, creepydude's parents were shocked to find megumi hunched over him, looking waterlogged with her face all cut up and looking feral. she evaporated into mist and disappeared before exiting the house.
she then returned home, but her parents were like "yo what the ********." they tended to her while rumors of a crazy ghost b***h killed good ole creepyboy in his sleep. he was the son of some other important person and there was noooo waaay he deserved that. she must have also done all the s**t from before too since she messed up his face. megumi tried to explain that it was him and that the only reason she's alive is because of enenra, who was now a part of her. but, only her parents really believed her. the hisakawas, though mostly respected, were also somewhat feared due to their association with the yokai enenra, even though it was a benevolent entity. and now that one of them had been full on possessed by it was too creepy, so they ostracized megumi, who was charged with the murder of creepyguy. she then fled, never to return home, but she stays in contact with her parents whenever she can.
rumor then spread of a ghostly dead girl who would murder people at night and cut up their faces like hers. these accounts spread and would get more ridiculous, leading megumi to cover the scars on her face in fear of being recognized by those who heard the rumors. her family gained infamy due to her reputation and eventually cut off anything to do with her.
With one glance at Megumi, one might not assume she started out life the way she did –happy and carefree, per se. Born into the small, but tight-knit Hisakawa clan, Megumi was raised alongside the shores of The Land of Water. Her clan specialized in mist manipulation techniques, in which they utilized with their unique Kekkei Genkai, referred to by most as simply “mist form.” Megumi, at the time of her innocence, could have been described as an enthusiastic, yet somewhat vain child, and maybe even a little too curious for her own good. She often preferred socializing with her friends over training or academics, though she continued to do her best in all that she could, or all that her attention span would allow. It wasn't until one summer night that the once lighthearted and bright-eyed Megumi would be no more. Once every few years the Hisakawas would hold a rite of passage ceremony for certain members once they’d proven themselves worthy. The ceremonies were always done in secrecy—only few knew of its existence, comprised of those considered part of the Hisakawa’s secret inner circle. Megumi, only 13 at the time, was not aware of the ceremony’s existence, nor was she chosen to be a part of it. Her father, Arata Hisakawa, was one of the hosts for this rite of passage, unbeknownst to her. Having noticed peculiar activity in her father and a few other members of her family, the curious Megumi began to investigate. Their activity seemed to be focused in on one particular location, a place she was unaware of until then. Hidden underground and concealed among the overgrowth of the thin woodlands, Megumi was led astray by her own curiosity, and down into the stuffy chambers bellow. The room was empty, though showed signs of recent activity. There was a stone alter at the center of the room and atop it sat a strange box. The box was translucent, looking to be made out of a strong glassy material. Nothing could be seen beneath the box’s surface, as it appeared to be filled with a dense fog. It was almost beckoning her. What was in it? Why was it here? Why hadn't she seen this box before? It couldn't be anything too bad, could it?
Just one peek won’t hurt.
Right?
A key lay next to the box, as though whoever put it here were read to open it themselves. With a turn of the key, the antique box slowly lifted open. There was a pause of silence as the fog within the box slowly drifted from its containment. The fog then, as if on its own command, engulfed Megumi in an instant. A bizarre, but horrible power surged through her as the fog-like form disappeared within her. The door atop the stairs behind her creaked open as she fell to the ground, immobilized. The last thing she remembered was the blurred, but concerned looks of her father and a few other members of her clan.
She awoke in what seemed like a few seconds to what had really been hours. It was early morning, judging by the redness of the sky. The air reeked of blood, but her surroundings were covered in too deep of a fog for her to see. Megumi pushed herself forward as she began to regain feeling in her body. Her skin felt sticky and upon looking down, revealed a blood-dyed kimono. Her right hand was tightly clinching a pair of bloodied scissors. She looked up from the mess of herself as the fog just barely thinned out, enough for her to see what had been done. Small-ish corpses scattered over the ground, some containing various stab wounds. A group if silhouettes stood off in the distance, distorted by the faint sunlit fog. One of the figures called out to her in a familiar tone, though she couldn’t make out the words. The last thing she remembered was turning to flee and run, hoping to make it far enough away in time before the yokai took control again.
The force over Megumi’s control revealed itself by the name of Enenra, a mist yokai that had been imprisoned by the Hisakawa clan for decades. The rite of passage that was to be held involved tapping into Enenra’s power in order to strengthen their own, though the process had to be done with absolute caution, hence its secrecy and selectiveness. The night before was the yokai’s act of revenge on the Hisakawas for its imprisonment, though its reign of terror wouldn't stop there. However, due to the lack of physical strength on Megumi's end, Enenra was only able to overpower the younger and weaker members of her clan. The beast was now free to do as it pleased with Megumi as its guise. That day, however, Enenra appeared to be dormant and Megumi was given full control over her actions. In however small this window of time would be, the mist ninja fled into the mountain ranges of a nearby island in an attempt to isolate herself, or better yet Enenra, from the world. She was given freedom throughout most of her days, but by night is when Enenra would take her over. At the foot at the mountains was a small village that Enenra occasionally took to terrorizing at the cover of night, though just as often preyed upon those who wandered into the mountains. Within only a few days, Megumi became somewhat of a ghost story to the townsfolk due to the surreal way she, or more so Enenra, would kill its victims. Under the guise of a young woman, the yokai would create a thick shroud of fog to cover the area, which came to be known as a foreboding sign of her presence. Within towns, she would seemingly appear out of thin air and lurk the streets in the dead of night, floating weightlessly off he ground like a ghost. She often was seen draped in a white kimono with a surgical mask covering her face, stopping late night passersby. In a low dulcet tone, she’d ask, ”do you think I’m pretty?”, to which the victim would usually reply, “yes.” The yokai-possessed woman would then pull off the surgical mask, revealing a disfigured portion of her face, a Glasgow carving afflicted by Enenra unto Megumi. The exact reason behind her disfigurement is unknown, but was thought to be an attack on her vanity. Regardless of the victim’s response after Megumi repeated the question, he or she would often end up killed by the yokai’s hand, some found with a similar scar across their face. She became known as the "kuchisake-onna," or “slit-mouthed woman” by the locals. The other method Enenra took to using, dubbed “Killer Mist,” was just as it sounded—utilizing Megumi’s mist form technique, Enenra was able to transform her body into an amorphous haze, concealed by another layer of mists. Those who wandered into the haze would begin choking before suffocating to death. It was thought by some of the locals to be two separate entities working together, as both relied on the use of heavy fog.
Years passed by as Megumi continued to terrorize small village after village, all while trying keep herself hidden within the dense mountain range when she was able to. She had gained slightly more control over Enenra’s actions, at times giving its victims just enough time to escape. In the long run, however, the yokai was the victor of her will. Many had entered the mountains in attempts to eliminate her, though unfortunately, all had failed. None that challenged her seemed capable of slaying the monster she had become and she could only wish for that day to finally come. ...but it never did. Enenra was cunning in that it knew when to fight and when to hide -- those it knew capable would never catch a single glimpse, while the amateur hero-wannabe would be viciously attacked. It wasn't so much that the yokai was unstoppable, just selective of who it revealed itself to. However, after so many years of the same routine, Megumi's will began to strengthen over Enenra's. This battle for control continued on for a little less than a year. Megumi felt she had gained enough control to leave her life of seclusion, but at the same time was still unstable, especially while she slept. She found the yokai could take over while she was asleep, leaving her with only vague, dream-like memories of its late night shenanigans. Then, for the first time in years, the nin and yokai spoke and struck a compromise: Enenra would cooperate with Megumi and give back her freedom if she'd allow it to indulge its bloodlust from time-to-time. If not, it'd hijack her body while she slept and wreak havoc on its own. The agreement was settled and Megumi left the mountains, but with nowhere to call home. She took to the life of a wandering bounty hunter to both sate the yokai and continue to keep her distance from the world. So long as Enenra remained a part of her, she was dangerous. It was hard for her to trust its word and remained skeptical of the promise it made. She couldn't allow herself too close to a village in fear of losing control over Enenra and slaughtering more innocent people. It was a lonely way of life, but if it meant keeping others safe, then so be it. She just knew she could never return home. Her family was better off believing she was dead.

The first thing most people notice about Megumi is her disfigured face—the Glasgow wound carved into her face ear-to-ear. She doesn't appear to be as self-conscious about it as one would think. She has a slender, almost frail frame, though she isn't as fragile as she looks. Her hair is thin and black, reaching down to her lower back. Her bangs are cut short and symmetrically, the tips reaching to about her brow line. If carefully tended to, her hair can be silken and shiny; however, her hair is often left limp and somewhat dry, though not completely unkempt. She often wears darker clothing in opposition to the ghostly white kimono she was known for. When going out into certain public places, she often adorns a scarf, which she uses to conceal her disfigurement. Her appearance is often made to keep others away, rather than to seem friendly and approachable.

tab ■ Mist Clones: Manipulating the air’s water particles, Megumi is able to create mist-based doppelgängers. Ranging from being nearly identical to herself or to being only a misty apparition, the clones immediately dissipate when stricken.
tab ■ Fog Manipulation Jutsu: The user manipulates the moisture in the air to either create or thicken preexisting fog. This mist can be used to to lower the opponent's visibility or be used with Mist Form to create camouflage. Chakra can also be combined with the mist and be used to deflect certain attacks like a shield.
tab ■ Striking Nimbus Combining water and lighting release, Megumi creates low laying storm clouds, to which she commands lightning strikes. The clouds can range in size and shape depending greatly on current atmospheric conditions.
tab ■ Killer Mist: Utilizing her mist form technique and Enenra, Megumi is able to spread into a thick fog, a feat that would have been fatal for anyone else of her clan. As an amorphous mass, she is able to move just as freely, engulfing her opponents and asphyxiating them, so long as they remain within her mist. She is also able to slip through tight spaces, such as the cracks under doors while in this form, giving her access to otherwise secured locations.
tab ■ Beast of the Storm: Similar to both the Killer Mist and Nimbus technique, Megumi will take on a giant bestial shape, often resembling one of the forms Enenra chooses to take. Those trapped within will feel as though they are caught in a storm and will subject to electrocution and experience difficulty breathing. Outside of the beast, its body can produce strikes of lighting.

tab ■ Enenra: Usually a benevolent being, Enenra is an amorphous yokai made of fog. Select members of the Hisakawa clan could tap into its power in order to enhance their bloodline ability and allow them to disperse their form and become virtually invisible. When combined with Megumi, she received the same enhancements, but can remain in a gaseous state for much longer and spread farther. She is still unable to physically interact while in her mist form, but can transform select parts of her body into mist.
⯀ KEKKEI GENKAI
tab ■ Cloud Form: The Hisakawas are known for their ability to transform their bodies into humanoid-shaped veils of mist. They are able to move freely in this form, though strong winds will often put them at a disadvantage, given their weightlessness. Combined with a mist manipulation jutsu, users are able to conceal themselves within the shroud to camouflage themselves and attack seemingly invisible. Being able to control the density of their form, they are sturdier than they appear, but the thicker the mist, the easier they are to detect in the fog. They are, however, unable to physically interact with anything, with objects going straight through them.

Megumi relies heavily the element of surprise. She is a tactical, stealth-based fighter and is capable of sneaking up on her opponents in complete silence. Her attacks go from mid to long range, as she lacks the skill and physical strength for most hand-to-hand combat. Megumi will always keep her distance in battle and can prove to be a very tricky and evasive opponent.
