She could easily be described as the big sister type in the ways in which she provides security to others. Though not exactly nurturing, Tarene can become fiercely protective and tends to provide comfort and reassurance to those around her. She can at times seem emotionally detached, giving her an air of stoicism and gruffness. However, she can be quick to become emotionally involved with those she lets herself care for. As an Imperial soldier, she often remains aloof towards her comrades, not wanting to become too close to those who may be killed at any time in combat. bs idea stuff:
◆ Tarene was from family of magic users and was taught magic stuff at first.
◆ Went through a rebellious teenage phase and was all, "I'm not gonna do magic! I'm different! Mom, this is the real me!" and started practicing warrior stuff.
◆ People were all, "you're a gangling high elf, go cast spells and scream at Nords."
◆ Tarene continued, taking it as a challenge. She ended up investing a lot of time into it, more than her magic, which she had shunned because she thought she was too cool for it.
◆ Grew out of rebellious stage. The rest of her siblings were further ahead of her magic-wise and she was like, "well, ********" so then she decided to just keep with her warrioring, since she had the most skill in it.

It's not uncommon for her to be mistaken for a man, given her more surly appearance, though she tends to have a more effeminate demeanor underneath her gruffness.
