Two flags had been placed at opposite end of the Weyr. The bright red fabric flutters at the tip of Tooth Crag and opposite at the end of Earthslide. Entrants start in a line on Earthslide and are challenged to fly to the highest point of the Weyr as fast as possible. The starting area had been carefully cleared of snow by midday, when the race was set to start. Once the entrants had all arrived, the Headwoman marched up the line. Occasionally shooing a dragon back or ushering them forward so they’re all in a line. Reached the end of the line she casts one last critical eye over the line, before raising a red flag above her head. All the dragons prepared to launch. The Headwoman brought down her arm and swiftly raised her hand to her eyes to protect them from the churning dirt thrown up by dragons taking off.
Rules
- You can enter a maximum of three times using PCs and NPCs.
- When entering an NPC, make sure to mention the rider name, dragon name and dragon colour.
- Entries must have at least 150 words and a suitable roll to be valid to win. All valid entries will earn competitors 20 marks.
- Dragons must be fully grown to enter.
- Each entry should be posted separately.
- To play roll a number of 4-sided dice corresponding with the dragon’s colour.
Green – 2
Blue – 3
Brown – 4
Bronze – 5
- The winner will be the competitor with the lowest score.
- 1st place will receive 100 marks
- 2nd place will receive 50 marks
- 3rd place will receive 25 marks
- The post that is considered the most engaging will be awarded 50 marks.

V'lon & Mirath
Mirath was not the fastest dragon ever to live but he was sleek, in good health, and brim full of confidence as V'lon checked his straps for any weaknesses as they stood at the starting line. "There's a pretty purse on the line today, so push as hard as you can," V'lon repeated for the n-th time, and satisfied with the harness he gave his dragon's shoulder a slap and mounted up.
//A pretty purse you can spend on me,// Mirath replied with a mental smirk. //I will be the one doing all the work!// Not that there was really anything he wanted bought for him, the quality of the beasts they were receiving was excellent and so too was the oil and he wanted for no more in life than that...
Except attention, and taking part in a spectacle like this would certainly give him that!
Mirath bugled, posed, and stretched his wings to oohs and ahhs from the crowd which - perhaps - he imagined to be a little more adoring than they were, and a little more entirely directed at him than they were too.
V'lon snorted and leaned forward in the straps, his dark eyes focused keenly on the headwoman as she walked past them on the way to the end of the line.
She raised her flag.

The flag came down, and Mirath launched himself forward amongst the chaos of dust and wings and calling voices. The race was on!
