Toffee inhaled the sweet scent of the Cinnamon dolce in her large cranberry coffee mug. This coffee shop was her favorite. With the dark cherrywood furniture, old fireplace, nothing about it was modern, but instead homie and rustic. It was safe and comfortable. A soft breeze blew through the cracked open windows and ruffled her fur. She inhaled the delicious scents from the rosies planted in the boxes just outside. The coffee shop was bustling on a Sunday afternoon and the two espresso machines were whirring away behind the counter. The soft clink as tips were dropped into the tip jar and murmur of voices are her was comforting. But she noticed most of them were in pairs and groups and she slowly realized that she was the only one there alone, minus the staff of course. Her eyebrows knit but she dropped her head back to her book. Being alone wasn't so bad since she could do what she wanted when she wanted. No need to wait on anyone else.

Toffee's nose twitched as a new smell came in, she closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, it smelled like another dog? Huh, how rare in these parts. I mean this place was covered with cats, kirins, she had been seeing more nagas and dragons, but it was rare to see another dog. She opened her eyes to see him walk in and shake off his coat. She blushed lightly, he was cute. Immediately she looked back down at her book secretly hoping he would notice her, but also that he wouldn't.

She looked up and sniffed again. He had ordered tea, not bad. She turned over her shoulder and looked towards him, he was looking around for a place to sit. She turned back around quickly and gulped. Uh oh, had he seen me? Should I offer him a place to sit? Her mind ran in circles and she looked back over her shoulder at him again.

The second time she turned around he was looking right at her. Eeek! She felt herself jump a little out of her skin, but swallowed that down again and forced a small smile onto her face. She hoped her took that as an invitation cause she couldn't muster anything else. Her heart beat at a mile a minute.

She saw him pout and immediately felt a wave of regret, she hadn't meant to hurt him at all. She flailed, in-wardingly going Oh no oh no, what do what do. She breathed in quickly and smiled back at him, waving him down and inviting him to sit in the seat beside her.

When he sat down her tail and ears stood and perked up nervously, her whole body tensing as she inhaled his scent full on. Nice, familiar, musty with a hint of the tea. Pleasant. She gulped, smiling a bit and sipping her own coffee trying to tell her body to relax and chill. "Your tea smells good." She managed to stammer out in between sips, not looking directly at him, but instead into her own cup. "Do you mind if I ask what it is?"

He was so calm, chill and collected, everything she always imagined herself to be when she placed herself in one of the stories she was reading, but in reality she was just a really shy and awkward dog living in a world of cats. His voice was pleasant, exactly how she imagined it would sound based off his appearance and smell. She sniffed the air again, trying to take in the tea scents narrowing down what exactly he was drinking. She found acts like this helped settle and re-center her. "I smell vanilla, honey... She sniffed again. "Lemongrass?"

She smiled as he shrugged pleased with her nose passing. She smiled back up at him as he asked what she was drinking, she was finally calming down. This is just another dog, everything is fine... Even if he is a really cute one. She blushed herself at that and replied with "a cinnamon dolce latte." She titled her own cup toward him allowing him to inhale what was left of her coffee. "I find the intermixing of the sweet milk dolce, mixed with the spiced cinnamon and bitter coffee made for a pleasant mixing of both scents and taste buds." She giggled, she was the type of girl who had autumn and coffee scented candles often lit at home.
